My mom bought 5 years ago a wheel for me, a Logitech Driving Force EX, for Gran Turismo 4, i used it 2 times, than i gave up.
Yesterday, i started playing again with the wheel, but it's very hard to control my car...
Any tips?
And what are your thoughts about the Logitech Driving Force EX?

I have never used that particular wheel. The key to using a wheel is just practice, practice, practice. At first you will be slower, but give it a little time and you will be MUCH faster.

Does it have decent force feedback? If so, then it should be fine. Just do as ^ Delta795 ^ says.

Yep, Should be fine. I still use my old DF Pro: I believe the EX is a variant of this. I have FF on 9.

Do a search - there are a few threads about starting with a wheel. Practice! And turn off driving aids to get the feel of the car.

Could it be that because the EX is a 200 degree wheel it is a bit nervous?
By this I mean you that even if you move it just a little bit it has the same effect as when you move a 900 degree wheel much further.

May be there is someone in the Simracing hardware section who knows more about this wheel.

The wheel's ok, but it is quiet annoying, you can't drive in a straight line.

That is a issue of the wheel itself.
It is possible to drive in a straight line with the DF pro of G25.

I still think it has something to do with the sensitivity.
I'm not sure if this is something you can change but it's worth a try. 👍

Turn down the force feedback, turn power assisted steering off, and change the mode to either professional or amateur. Try these settings in the "Steering options" in options, just until you get the hang of things. It'll take a bit of getting used to.

When you get the hang of things, turn the feedback up (I use 6) and set the steering mode to simulation.

Wow. It does ****ing make a lot of fun.
Getting better, just drifting is quiet impossible...

... for now. Practice. Practice. Practice.

And the right car with the right tune makes a world of difference.

The first thing to do is get a stable platform for the wheel, and then try to be as smoothe in your movements as possible because it`s real easy to over-correct, and it`s all over then.
Also get used to being left behind by players (on-line) who are using hand held controllers, they seem to be able to make sudden moves that don`t translate on the wheel very well, but if you learn your braking/acceleration points, you can catch up and win, if there`s enough time...
