There's a abandoned copper mine stretching up the hill. Guess it had something to do with that.

Would have gotten up closer but the ground was boggy and it's generally a bad idea to go off the beaten track.
 
It seems lots of people find this thread upsetting. Funny, I find it quite exciting. look at all the sweet lost cars people are discovering.
 
But some stuff is so sad. It really is amazing though, makes you want to go out on an adventure to track some of them down.

Just looks out of proportion... and doesn't fit F1 specs to :p... Just looks like someone "attempted" to make a replica.. but failed. Doesnt even have a exhaust outlet to. :|
 
Looks like an ex F3000 or Formula Nippon (Lola chassis?) painted up to look like a Toyota F1. It's lack of turning vanes /barge boards and other detailing points to it being a stationary marketing/promotional prop.
 
That '59 ambulance, wasn't aware of those before. Insanely cool.
