Reading in the forums and playing on line I have come across a few abbreviations I do not understand - yeah, I am new
LMP
JGTC
DTM
and some words:
Dog-clutch
could someone please translate and explain?
No I don't. But it amazes me that someone chooses to mock somone for asking an honest qustion. Here's another one you don't understand; LMGTFY

Thank you :-)LMP= Le Mans Prototype
JGTC = Japanese Grand Touring Championship
DTM= Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters
Dog-clutch = A type of clutch that couples two rotating shafts or other rotating components not by friction but by interference. The two parts of the clutch are designed such that one will push the other, causing both to rotate at the same speed and will never slip. Dog clutches are used where slip is undesirable and/or the clutch is not used to control torque. Without slippage, dog clutches are not affected by wear in the same way that friction clutches are.

AcceptedI wasn't mocking you, & I meant no offense. Sorry. LMGTFY is an acronym that means; Let Me Google That For You. I was merely trying to point out that you could've easily Googled it for yourself rather than making a thread about it.

I actually did a search (google). All I got was youtubes explaining nothing.
I always try to find the answers myself before I ask. I even searched the Forums here.

I see, sorry for assuming otherwise. Sometimes an acronym can mean more than one thing as well. If you Google LMP the first thing that comes up is Last Menstural Period, not exactly the answer you were looking for!![]()
In today's world, why would you not just google it yourself instead of making a thread and waiting and waiting and waiting for answers? No I don't. But it amazes me that someone chooses to mock somone for asking an honest qustion.
In today's world, being literate etc., why don't you just read through the thread to see if maybe the question has already been asked and answered? In today's world, why would you not just google it yourself instead of making a thread and waiting and waiting and waiting for answers?
Riiiiight. Call me skeptical when someone says they searched and found nothing, yet I'm able to find exactly what they're asking for in no time.In today's world, being literate etc., why don't you just read through the thread to see if maybe the question has already been asked and answered?
Gentlmen/women - today I said to my wife: "It's so great that GTplanet's members are so mature and kind!" It appears I was wrong (at least to a degree). @Argon is an exception here, obviously. Thank you @Argon for being kind and considerate 👍
Since my questions seem to offend @JEMcG and @eSZee so much, I suggest that they simple ignore my posts in the future.
