If I'm around I'll join in. Are you talking about 9PM GMT? Had a look at the link your sig...well done:tup:👍

I'm officially a member now. For a long time I've said ill stop using it. Last month or so has been without ABS. Not that bad really.

Hey Spence how is the no ABS going with TAM?

Hey Pappa, i was reading through the whole thread today and saw that i missed your post, dont want you thinking i was ignoring you lol !!!. Yh T.A.M is the best its ever been, we had fantastic attendance and awesome racing last season, the best season so far.......its only taken a year and a half to get us to that point !!!, all the guys love ABS 0 so i have em trapped in T.A.M as theres very few ABS 0 only leagues :)

P.S. when are you back online? i know you moved to Oz and havent seen you since.

I've been an ABS off driver for a while now, but have noticed that after braking hard in a straight line, at about 30mph, every single car seems to become very unstable and any steering input will make it spin very easily. The only way I've been able to reduce that is to set brake balance to 0/0. Still happens sometimes.

What's the cure for this?

I've just read about setting the diff decel to lower values. I'll give that a try- never occurred to me before.

As the car begins to slow and you reach an apex, you're supposed to apply a small amount of throttle to both prevent lock up and to also stabilize the car.

Dab the accelerator as you stop and that should stop you spinning. Also a break bias of 4/0 or 4/1 would be much better than 0/0 as well.

What Lewis has typed is all correct and it will help you if you follow his advice but something else to consider is that the faster you are going the more brake you can apply, as the braking reduces your speed you must in turn reduce your brake pressure, it sounds to me that you are using too much brake at lower speeds... coming off the brakes smoothly is as important as how much pressure you apply to start with.

Stick with it bud, very shortly it will all make sense.:)

I never apply throttle on turn in (right foot braker ;)). Just don't trail too much brake into the corner, get the car slowed in a straight line.

It can be tricky to get used to just how much you have to back off of the brake when turning the wheels even just a little. You can still brake into (and through if necessary) the corners but you need a very light touch on the brakes to not unsettle the car. And like CJSpencer77 said, as you slow down you do need to use less brake even in a straight line too, although not as drastically as when you start to turn.

Another thing to consider is that when you are slowing down for the slowest corners the gear changes tend to unsettle the car a lot more. This can cause problems when the wheels are already under hard stress from braking. As you reach the lowest gears, try waiting a little bit longer before downshifting - even more so if you're turning. You may also find it helpful to delay your last downshift until you are already starting to get back on the throttle, or just not even downshift that last time at all. I've found that the ABS tends to cover up most of this issue so it's something else you have to think about when you turn it off.

I often do this, if you ever so lightly keep a small amount of throttle applied it keeps the car loaded rather than switching between the acceleration and deceleration phases of the diff too violently, the hairpin on grand valley comes to mind when driving some MR cars.

^ I saw your room up yesterday. Was about to join but had to be in other places. I'll see if I can hop in this time. Looks like a lot of fun!

I will have a ABS 0 open room going in about an hour, feel free to come join.

Whats the room number? By the way, last night I joined a racing room at 650pp racing cars on Nurburg. Nord. And I was using no a BB of 4/0 which allowed me to use about 80% braking power. So I end up running away with the race and lapping it in 6:24.180. I went to check out what the host was using. Srf, Active steering and, abs. He goes looks at my time, turned up the Srf, and started the next race. After I realised he did this, 'cause he had amazing grip in the first section, I left the room. I thought that was funny.

It was a fun room, at least until it imploded - or my connection did. Even though I got my tail kicked the whole time, but that's nothing new for me. I don't lose out under braking, everyone else just seems to always be able to go through the actual corners faster than me while still having a better exit speed. Whereas if I push even a tiny bit harder at any point it bites me. Oh, well, that's racing. :)

Thanks for hosting.

lol Mog, you were good m8, 99% of people join a ABS 0 room for a total of 10 seconds before they do a runner !!!!

My small tribute to ABS 0 community - Yesterday did TT on SLS AMG with COMFORT SOFT tires and ABS 0. Got Gold, of course.
Ahh, forgot - car was just stock no oil change no tuning parts installed. Had a very nice run.

Had a very close race using no ABS. It may seem that I mess up at the end of the 3rd lap but my problems start before the race starts. I join this GT500 lobby and quickly had to bring my car from 600 pp (thats what I use for my gt500 lobbies) to 620 pp. The reason I had to do it quickly was because when I joined the 40 second timer started and i wanted to race. Problem? I had no time to adjust my gearing and I topped out at 283 km/h wich wasn't enough even with the tow (as you can see). My second mistake (big one as you guys can find a lot of more mistaskes) is on the first lap on the run to the bus stop chicane ( is it still called that?). I lift to much on the full speed corner before the chicane and drop to 3rd :( .

After that you can see that not having ABS is a problem on the chicane ( the other 2 were using abs). Not saying I'm a great driver (I'm not). Just showing that you can have fun without ABS:tup:

Hope it works and if not here is the link

I just got my G27 for Christmas and did the following for almost 9 hours the first night by the way. I have finally got time to post this in highly recommend doing so specially if you have a G27 and haven't done this yet.

To all you no ABS lovers like me.

Best senaryo.

G27 racing wheel

All hud displays off

Nurburgring Nordschleife (weather and time change if you see it)

Stock Ferrari F40 (comfort soft tires or sports hard tires) the recommend one will work.

In car camera and set it to the first zoom in setting after wide.

No ABS
(of course.. Let's face it if you drive a F40 on any game with ABS you are not a fan of cars)

FRONT BRAKES 3-4
REAR BRAKES 0-1

This equation equals true love for hours on end. Just cruising.

Enjoy

I might make a F40 no ABS cruising lobby later this week.

By the way i have posted on here before I just had my GTP username changed (old name was ORPHANTHIRTY7)

Room open for no ABS track day with comfort medium restriction, track is Daytona Road Course.

1472-6681-3158-0100-3436

Had a guy joined in, Watson something, left after I said hi :(

Running Ferrari F40, stock, 2:07.xxx :)

My best was on McLaren Mercedes SLR 2:02.828, then McLaren MP4 2:03.3xxx. ( all stock )

Room is now relegated to someone else, a member of GTP, not sure how long he will host it.
Had a few people stayed, some nice laps, great session :D

I had a Good time but I do think that cm is to much for cars above 300 hp. Then I tried my blackbird (741 hp CTR) .crazy but alot of fun XD

So that was you with the full power Yellow Bird :P Next time I will put comfort soft instead so there will be less sliding around the track :D

Yup thats me :P I only kept in on the track on my in lap haha. Comfort soft might work. I ussually take the fully modded CTR to the ring on ss tires and no abs. Still hard but doable :)

Any of you up for a no abs, 60s 70s and 80s race on la sarte circuit next week? Thinking about 550 pp and using older race cars. Good excuus to use cars like the ford gt, mkIV, p4 and all other pre 90s race cars.

Can you do engine tuning to the Yellowbid? I have a Blackbird also, with a high pressure turbo but I don't remember how much power it has. Brilliant car. :)

During christmas holidays I was back at my parents' place where I have a good setup for playing GT, so I played after a long break. I went to my own lobby just to drive the Blackbird, and after doing a few laps I went to settings and only then realised I also had comfort mediums selected. The car has so much power, I thought the tyres were sport hard.

Super GT500 endurance without ABS this friday, 22.00 GMT+1. check out my signature and pick your car for the race :)

Although I'm not really ready to join the ABS 0 community I do have a go occasionally to give myself an extra challenge. Gold in the AMG SLS TT in a totally stock car wasn't too hard but I struggled in the Corvette C7 one and just got under 8 mins. Would have been easier if you could change the BB. It's quite addictive though and I can see why some folks just drive stock cars with no ABS. I'm ok in TTs where it's just about taking it easy, but in a race situation it's so easy to get carried away and try to pull off a move that would be fine with ABS but results in total lock-up followed usually by a crash. Is it possible to get to be fast both with and without ABS or is it a case of biting the bullet and going for exclusively ABS0?
