Absurd Engine swap idea

If that was the case...we could literally do anything.

I feel it'd be better if the engine swaps were more common and, and better results.

Besides, the game would quickly get turned upside down if you could literally swap engines to any car. Some engine swaps are already too OP.

You really defended roulette over gameplay engine swaps in a car sim? And even mocked me with a revolver wheels comment?

I shouldn't have to say this but if you did it by buying the engine through gameplay instead of roulette tickets... that doesn't mean the number of available engine swaps suddenly goes up to every car in the game. Doesn't mean event restrictions dissappear.

In fact we shouldn't have cars in the game either because there is already enough of them polluting the planet in other games

I actually like this idea, especially when you get a roulette reward car you probably can't really use or want to use in an event like the Rampage Camaro.

Priorities. Let’s fix music selection in all areas and about 100 other things before worrying about making Frankincars.

Change the “instead of” to “in addition to” and I’m with you. I like receiving random engine swaps from the roulette, but it would be nice if we could buy the engines as well.

Is this an "open" idea? Do you think we should be able to put any engine in any other vehicle? Should I be able to put a Bugatti W12 into a Shifter Cart?

Personally, I'm fine with the current setup because not all engines fit all cars, as in real life you have to consider engine bay size and modifications/fabrication to get engines to fit. PD currently curate the options which limits options to something comparable to real life i.e. if this engine easily fits into this other car, make that an option.

Plus, if I take an engine out of a Bugatti Veyron and stick it onto a Shifter Cart, what goes back into the Veyron?

Or you know, actually add the engines we buy from the tuning shop into our inventory instead of just replacing the old engines we got in the cars for the new ones, and making the old engines disappear into the void...

Since there is no rational excuse to make the engine swaps be so inaccessible by the playerbase, I assume that PD did the swaps like this to make them be very rare, and since some of those engines are already hilariously expensive(I mean, do you really want me to believe that the 787B engine costs a ****ing million?) when we go buy them in the tuning shop, why not just let us buy them all?

There will likely neer be a game where you can swap any engine from one car into any other car due to licensing. You can bypass that by creating non-real engines that would allow more flexibility in most situations but with real engines you will always be more limited.

That said, the engine swaps available in GT7 should all be purchasable in the tuning shop or GT Auto, the roulette system is rubbish.

Imagine if all this licensing.. patents and copyrights ....were phased out in the distant future... new generations will have no idea of the horror show they missed!

How about keeping the current ticket system but upping the chances of getting one, but change it to an invitation to buy an engine? When you get one, you go to GT Auto and use your ticket to purchase whatever engine you want?!

I need a veyron powered shifter cart in my life so bad.

But in all seriousness the availability of engines would not need to have any effect on pd only allowing actual feasible swaps.
