Active Weather???

I've been searching the internet and wondering if there will be active weather in gt4. maybe in endurance races or b4 a race you can pick the weather. i know in F1 games you would be racing and all of a sudden it would begin to rain. well, will something like that happen in gt4?
 
Active weather seems to maybe be included to a certain degree.....to what degree we don't know as yet.....

As from what i know i heard that the weather changes during races not too sure how true that is but we shall see.

If you want rain just get PD to make a Scottish track, problem solved !! :lol:
 
Or a Manchester track. Changing weather mid race will not be in GT4 according to KY, there will be wet tracks and dry tracks but not changing weather.
 
I think so,too.
Changing weather would be nice but think about how much work
it would be to simulate the weather for example on the Nordschleife.
 
ugh, the slowdown of realtime rain on a gigantic track like that on an old machine like PS2 makes me shudder...
 
Each time (starting with GT3) PD has said changing weather effects would be incorporated. Sigh, When will they come? :(
 
No they haven't, they said the wet tracks would return but there will be more of them, they never said you will be able to race in the rain or the weather will change half way through a race.
 
Well the clouds don´t even move, how can weather change? =P
 
I don't really mind the fact that weather doesnt change in a race, it takes away your focus from driving. However, rain and other weather effect would be nice to have in endurance races.
 
I'd like it if they just simply made a 'rain' and 'night' version of every track... so you could choose: normal/reverse + dry/wet/night/day :D

Yes this would be acceptable concidering KY has stated there will be no dynamic weather effects. Even so I still doubt it,at least until GT5.
 
yea, id have to say i agree with that but that would be a good/ reasonable solution by ubiquitous.
 
BUT weather suddenly changing in a ENDURANCE RACE???hmmmmm....that isn´t a good idea....so there shouldn´t be ACTIVE WEATHER in the GT-MODE OF GRAN TURISMO 4!!!!...but in the ARCADE-MODE of course (so that u would have to choose the weather on a track after choosing the track u would like to drive!)
And that could be done so:
Weather:sunny/cloudy/rainy/[night]/[cloudy at night]/[rainy at night--->remembered
"SPECIAL STAG R5-WET" in GT3???

Can you type a little more clear! Damn....

I think changing weather would be great. Racing in a endro - and you see it getting cloudy and it starts raining - so you have to come in and change to wets. it'll be excellent!
 
....and when the others were on rain-tyres alrady u would lose much time in the pit and u would get frustated when u only got 2nd at the end of a race in which u had very strong rivals who only were about 20sec. behind u!!!because of the "ACTIVE WEATHER" then u wouldn´t win the race only because of the weather!!!.....so that´s why "ACTIVE WEATHER" is sth for the ARCADE-MODE OF GT4 AND N-O-T FOR THE GT-MODE in which u drive much more seriously than in the arcade-mode!!!
 
It would definitely be nice to see active weather in the game. It would also add in a little more touch of realism to the game. :)
 
....of course!active weather is a detail which brings GT4 closer to REALITY and to perfectionism!!!....but it´s still (a very emotional,famous and exciting)GMAE so it should cause FUN and that doesn´t happen when the "ACTIVE WEATHER" foils ur planes in serious races(i mean the races in the GT-Mode!)!!!!!.....ok it´s perhaps in REALITY THE SAME:
u made a tactic and wanted to drive as u planned but the weather prevents u to drive as u wanted so u must change ur strategy and so on....but i think the races in GT-Mode shouldn´t be dependent on the weather but from the driver and his potential!!!

so weather changin as it is in reality:YES!!!!!!
but
ffrustation because of foiled plans :NO!!!!
 
From what I've heard, there will be more rain courses. I would like to see it as one day, it's sunny, then the next time your at that track, it;s raining.
 
The easiest way to have active weather is to look out your window a couple of times whist doing a race......thats real detailed active weather for ya!!! :lol: :lol: :lol:
 
Along with this, plz tell me there are more than 2 views now, right? Would LOVE to see an in-car cockpit view!
 
but how should it be?:
first chosing the daytime--->(day/night)
then
chosing the condicion(s)--->(dry/wet/cloudy)

OR

just chosing between this here:
---->(dry/wet/cloudy/night)????????
but what about the wet tracks AT NIGHT THEN????
 
sadly.......NO :( :( :( PD can't as yet model 500+ cars interiors on the PS2 hardware......PS3 maybe :) The current view as shown in Prologue are

1. The close rear view
2. The dial (dash) view
3. The sky high view (actually quite useful on rallyies)

And I think there are 2 more to come....correct me anyone if im wrong.....

4. The bumper cam
5. The bonnet cam......(see the bonnet infront of you)
