Adding friends

Is there a way I can add friends on GT Sport if I know their PSN profile ID???? I have looked around and cant seem to find a way to type in names to add as friends. The friends I have so far I have added thru being in daily races with them. All I can find on the interweb is how to invite friends to a lobby race. Thanks for the help, Bob

You can click on player names in race and select view player info and add friends that way.

I figured that one out, thank you. Is there another way to add them if you just know their PSN id but are not in a race with them???? Like maybe if you are watching a replay and you can see their name but cannot click on their name for info, can you add them somehow???

On ps4 home go to friends, then there should be a search bar, click and add psn id

You have to ask them before they allow you be your friend and it is a universal friend, not just a friend in GTS. And if they turn you down, you're out of luck.

There needs to be a better way.

It has been like this since they introduced it with the PS3. It‘s like sending a friend request on the faceballs

When you are at the finale screen after a race you can hit the players name and pull up his info even after they have exited the race. Also on the main screen for the PS4 you can see the players met recently and it will show were you met them along with being able to add them as friends.

Sure you can hit the players name after a race and get their profile, but only if they are still in the race room. For example in Sports Mode, as soon as the race is finished, most players immediately exit the room and you have no chance to get their profile.

And, yes, I can see the players I've met recently on the PS4 main screen but that still doesn't allow me to access their profile in GTS.

I don't even want to be friends, I just want to be able to follow someone in GTS. The only way, I can do this is if that person posted a photo or a livery or made a comment on one of my photos or livery.

Here's an example of what I'm talking about. I saw a cool car livery in a race and I wanted to access the driver's profile so I could access his gallery and maybe download his livery and to follow him. The problem is, although I had his profile name, he exited the room right after the race and I had no time to get to his profile. Now what? One way to do this is by asking for a friend request (which isn't what I want because adding a friend means adding that friend for all PS4 apps. I just want to follow them in GTS only). And even then, they may turn down the friend request. The only other way is by pure chance that I happen to see a photo he posted.

Is there any other way to follow someone?

Put the person you want to follows PSN name where the red arrow is pointing below, then click on their name where the white arrow is pointing.

That takes you to here where you can click on the link to their profile (white arrow)

You can follow them from there.

If you left the lobby you can‘t access the GTS profile, but the friends menu on the PS has a „players met“ list.

If you do send a friend request its maybe worth mentioning in the message that your from GT Planet. I will typically reject a friend request if it appears to be from a random person but if its a GT Planet member i will most likely accept.
