Hello, I'm new here and this is my first post. I see there's a lot of people in the States that are familiar with the AE86 and understand why it's such a special car to own. Well I will post a question regarding a very special engine. If you're familiar with Initial D, you should have an idea of the engine I'm talking about. The TRD Group A 4A-GE 20V engine pushes out how much horsepower @ what RPM? What they say in Initial D is incorrect, just to let you know.

In Initial-D, i believe they mentioned this when Keisuke was talking to his brother Ryousuke. Ryousuke said that Takumi's new engine, could pull 240HP at 11,000 RPM. Im not sure, i havent watched my DVD's in a while. In reallife the 4A-GE 20V, im not exactly sure so yeah heh, it pushes 255HP at 11,000 RPM. Correct me if im wrong...

Well Ryousuke said it COULD pull 240HP, i believe it was like 190-200 ish. As far as the 4A-GE 20V you mean the 4A-GELU from the AE101 had 160HP@7400 stock, however the 4A-GELU from the AE111 had 165HP@7800.

No. I have had to repeat the stats so often to people either on this forum or on AutomotiveForums(Really bad in there) that it has been commited to memory.

Well you're correct on the 4A-GELU engines found in the AE-101 and AE-111. But the TRD Group A engine doesn't push out 240hp. It's a little more. Tsuchiya's AE86 Levin has this engine. And to this day, he has not lost to anyone that challenged him and his AE86. There are only a few TRD Group A 4A-GE's left. The Ida Akira Levin's engine was detuned and a rev-limiter was installed. I doubt anyone will get the correct horsepower on the actual engine used in GT-300 races. If you're familiar with GT2, try looking up the BP Kraft Trueno AE86 (I think they used the engine in that car, I'm not sure).

ethikz, 255hp @ 11,000RPM is very close. The engine's revv to 11,000 rpm, but that doesn't mean that this point is the highest horsepower peak. The actual stats from the engine are 261hp @ 10,100RPM. 11,000RPM just sets up the next gear to get the most horsepower. I remember watching a display about the engine at the Tokyo Auto Salon a few years back, I would do anything to get my hands on that engine. But realistically, the engine's weren't meant to be used on public streets, and the fuel is too costly.

This site is interesting, a friend of mine told me about it and said I should give it a try.

It was at the Tokyo Auto Salon a couple years back. TRD had a huge display on all its GT-300 and GT-500 Series engines. I'll look for it on some of the BBS's on a few Japanese tuner webpages. I think I took a picture of it. I'll look for that too. I'll head to a friends house later and scan them so you can see it. I also have a picture of my 20V silver-top 4A-GE. As soon as I find them I'll head over. I need to look for them anyways.

next question,

why do some people in initial D think Takeshi Nakazato & Shingo Shouji are Gay?

i dunno, but i did notice that. i'll tell ya whats gay tho..when takumi got flowers from you know who :O hahaha:lol:

OK, these questions are related to the AE86 because I've seen these engine's in them.

What are the following engines size, aspriation, and one car that this engine originally comes from?

1) 4A-GE - a gimme...
2) 3S-GE
3) 3S-GTE
4) 1JZ-GTE
5) 2JZ-GTE
6) 5M-GE
7) 2ZZGE

Answers should look like this:
(example)
1)RB26DETT - 2.6L Turbo - BNCR33

Good luck!

1) 4A-GE - 2.0 N/A - AE86
2) 3s-GE - 2.0 N/A - SW20
3) 3S-GTE - 2.0 turbo - SW20
4) 1JZ-GTE - 2.5 turbo - JZA70
5) 2JZ-GTE - 3.0 turbo - JZA80
6) 5M-GE no idea
7) 2ZZGE - 1.9 N/A - newest mr-2..dunno chassis code.

The 5M-GE was intruduced in the early 1980s on the 2nd generation Supra. It's a 2.8L DOHC that pushed out 150ps. This was Toyota's first 6-cylinder Twin Cam engine. The 6M-GE is the later model of this engine (mid 1980's). It's a 3.0L DOHC that pushed out 200ps. The last of this type of engine is the 7M-GE. This was introduced in the early 1990's and it's a 3.0L DOHC that pushed out around 220ps. This also had 24 valves and first appeared on the 3rd generation Supra (MA70 for short). I think the U.S. JZA70's that were turbocharged used the 7M-GTE.

Yes, you got them all correct. I would go into very deep techincal questions, but I'm not going to because I this is a Gran Turismo message board and not a board like Club4AG.com.
