Hi all

I know the focus is for online racing but it can be fun to do some AI races - is there a way of increasing the difficulty?
I have set it to professional, turned the boost off, started from the back of 20 and so on in an attempt to make it harder but I can still
take P1 in two laps.

Any suggestions?

Cheers all!

I'm pretty sure the AI use BOP in all races so make sure your car is to in tuning menu. Or make you car less competitive by reducing power/adding weight but keeping it within the class.

Race against a higher class, so your car N400, AI N800. Some cars are more competitive in there class then others especially with BOP off, so choose a slower car.

Failing that fit comfort tyres

change car class. Try different cars. With some cars you just better against AI then with others. Its more harder on lower classes and more fun too. Detune car . I love how AI drives. Not too easy . With some cars its really hard. Just there are cars that you can tune up and win easy .

Anyone interested in having selectable cars for the AI to use? Say for example you can manually choose the grid you want to race against. Is this even possible right now? It would be awesome for car comparisons and a lot of fun actually.

The AI is the worst I've seen in any GT game there really is no way to make it worthwhile racing against them. You can handicap yourself, but they will still suck so you'll win or lose only because of the handicap. Go play GT4 or better yet TOCA these games had better AI. The only reason I even tried online was because this game isn't worth playing otherwise, even most of the "tests" are a joke.

The best way to make it interesting is to handicap your own car, remove some power or add some weight, to account for the slow AI. The game will pay out more credits for doing that too. :)

The higher the Class, the faster the AI(obviously in faster cars). AI still do silly things, but in FT1500, SF19, GR.1 classes, AI are a bit more difficult to pass.

Choice if track determines the programming as well.
As much as I live Bathurstz I don't choose it at all for Custom Races. AI grind to a halt, from T2 to the Dipper.

Some tracks like St Croix, Brands Hatch, Sardegna, Barcelona, offer more of a challenge versus AI in those classes I mentioned.

To get faster AI , at the race start screen , top left corner, click race settings, then change car , keep the same car , the field of cars will change(takes 10 seconds), you may not get a faster field the first time but keep doing it after each race and i guarantee you will find really fast AI. I only did it at Nos '79 ,Lemans , Goodwood and Monza(Group 1 Cup).
Lemans fastest AI runs around 6:38-39, Goodwood is 7:41ish and Monza , i got beat by 12 seconds, too fast for me....GL :)
