Isn't there a minimum weight for gt300?

Rookie...lol. Thanks though. We'll see if I have anything to offer at Daytona.

Dr Dre
@zohsixgt5-----> you should try setting your differential to where your power will be focused more on the rear wheels. Maybe that will help

Its 20/80 right now. I'll test it out tonight to see if setting it lower gives any improvement.

No, just HP for 300. Any podium finish and Rookie status is over.

If you have an 03 Subie that's RWD its faster. 03 Garaiya is very fast too. Its weird that with an 1125kg weight, the MRS carries the most speed. Seems like the regs came from a series Bo was in before this one.

Hold up, pump your brakes there da6. I know your feeling pretty spiffy b/c you won your first race, but I guarantee you that if boshuter and ncr hadn't had lag issues, they would've put a purple and yellow stripe on both sides of your car, leaving you 3rd or worse. B/c if you did your homework then you would have known they were 125kgs lighter than your autobac. :)

Bo, don't go retiring on us. Let's see how next week goes w/o mics. Man, I miss one race and look what happens.

See how things fall apart without you around. Missed you last night hopefully you'll be there next race.

As far as DRC goes it will interesting to see how this "new draft" comes into play here as we haven't been here since it was changed

No drama here, just pointing out the facts. This will be my last post. Starting to feel like a Gtp whore. But b4 I go, I wanna suggest maybe the 300 guys get together and run some laps at around 530ish pp. That should get all the cars together on a level playing field. Just a suggestion. On that note, I'm out. See on the track.

Thanks, RR, but this unusual. In most of my experiences, things tend to start falling apart shortly after my arrival. I can't tell you how many times I've had someone tell me," You should have been here yesterday. It was great. The fish were biting, the sun was shining etc." I will try to make next week ( along w/ Bo), but when the holidays are in full swing, I will have no time for racing.

lol I was trying to be sarcastic and change the subject.
I too feel like I am beating a dead cow around the yard
as for the 530ish pp I am at 539, my car will not go any higher than that.
right now I am at max downforce front and back, the engine has a stage 3 turbo and is dialed back to 85.2%.
I was a little shocked when I checked my Celica however
I mean 325hp 1090kg and a 545pp rating :dunce: blew my hat off
Oh well just have to race harder to beat them damn yellow and blue boys :dopey:

Well I figure all the 300 cars would fit comfortably in at 530pp, making them pretty equal if not close. Correction: the celica is 1050kg, and thanx for making me post after I said I wasn't.

There seems to be a lot of whining about the weight of the Celica. Here's my take on it.

I ran a best time on Suzuka of 2:05.5 in practice this week in the Celica. I've ran this car in 4 different series and I know it very well and have countless hours in getting it setup for my driving style. The other night I tried to prove the weight wasn't an advantage, here are the results of that;

Celica - weight: 1050kg - best time 2:02.5 (setup I'd worked on all week)
Apex - weight: 1125kg - best time 2:02.5 (first lap, no setup except trans)

Da6 was running the same times in his '08 Garaiya, not sure but I think it weighs more than the Apex. I can also match that time in the '03 Garaiya and in the '03 Subaru.

Now, explain to me what you think will happen if we add 75-100kg to the Celica. Do you honestly believe that is going to make them "equal"? How much more "equal" do you think they can get than turning identical lap times?

Really? Just when I was about to have sympathy for you. You surface with some bullshiz. How about you go get your connection fixed and start running some realisitic times. Oh Ya, if you was so fast, y was you spectating. There's no way a car that is 125kgs lighter than some others is equal. The law of physics doesn't allow that, and if "you" can tune out 125kgs, then I wanna know what you do for a living, I hope its a astronaut. Untill then, how about you park that spaceship( lag), you call a racecar. Am I gonna have to go get freshseth on you!?!?!?

Just ran 5 laps @DRC with the Celica and MRS. Default suspension settings w/ full aero and Stg. 3 turbos @325hp. Default tranny settings. Forgot to change settings for tire wear "on" or "real" grip oops.

Now I'm pretty rusty here so that's my disclaimer nor am I that great a driver.

Best run in Celica 1:49.7 :tranny showing 171 top speed

Best run in MRS 1:48.5 :tranny showing 165 top speed

The MRS was bouncing its revs bad crossing the fin line so there's plenty more there. I'm sure they'll both do better w/ some tuning (duh) and track practice.

The final regulations were posted for this series in September. Any complaints or concerns about them should have been addressed during our preseason races. We ran most of the GT300's that the interested parties wanted and found an even playing field.

Some series run success ballast, some do rigorous testing to beat the band. We're pretty casual here and with this being JT's first crack at a series, this series is kind of a work in progress.

Lecture over, now have a nice day...unless you've made other plans.

Haters gonna hate.

@JT, yes I'm still a rookie. If there's another season? Then the rookie status goes

@Bo, I ran a 2:02.8 as my fastest I could possibly turn. Also the '08 Arta weighs 1175kg.

I just named you a rookie to get the vets upset. Stir the pot kind of thing.

Spot on. The only reason I added the 1100 reg. to the 500 class was because the Stealth was added to the lineup. I would never get into all the ballast penalties and HP limits set differently for cars. That's too much and takes the fun out of racing as everyone starts to question who has the advantage if its their car with a lower HP limit.

Our thread would have 2600 posts instead of 600 because of everyones "research" (research meaning how can I get the league president to allow my car more horsepower). Remember, I have offered one car change without penalty for just the occasion coming forward as it has with the 300 cars in question having an advantage.

This league is to be simple and fun. The only reason I have so many rules in the OP is for new members AND to settle any disputes.

So. The 300 debate. Seems to me a 3 race shoot out is in order. Head to head 3, 5 lap races. First track is mutually agreed upon amongst the debating parties. Second track picked by loser of 1st race and third track picked by winner of second race. Back to back on the fly racing and course changes. The number of debaters is so low lag will not be an issue. No spectators. Debating parties only in the lounge. No mics. If you guys don't like that save your online best laps and USB/upload them for all to view. Or do the cheap replay/record to YouTube.

Or...just show up on race day and wreck shop.

Today it's not good to be the King.

So...go read some other GT500 threads and try to wrap your heads around that.

Yeah, that's exactly what we needed, the pot stirred.

If it was the only stir it would be amusing. However, with all the other issues it could easily be taken the wrong way. I hope it was not.

I didn't take anything the wrong way. I don't believe I complained nor did I have a reason to. Something I do believe needs changed is my username. DA6righthand(R)

I'm definitely not that great at daytona. I fully expect to get beaten because I haven't broke into the 1:51's yet....

Ya I'm a hater, ill admit it. I guess 125kgs is equivalent to a bag of chips, couple of snickers bars, pack of gum, and a soda pop. But anyway you guys are right, all the cars are equal. Go out and have blast, race clean, have fun. @Jt, your doing a great job with the league( that's for real). You gt300 guys have a great remainder of the season, I'm sorry for butting in. I was wrong, I know nothing about cars or gt5. @da6, your a great driver bro ( although you were glitching as well during the suzuka race and your 2.02 lap time was bogus- don't forget imma h8r,lol). I no longer will participate in the debate, for I know nothing, I apologize. So with that said, you guys have fun racing with your 275lb fat chicks riding around with you while your racing, slamming down all those chips and soda pop, chasing down that celica. Case closed, I'm done with this issue. -the h8r signing off-

Ok this ends NOW. What the hell is going on here?

The testing on the 300 cars was done prior to season start and deamed to be as equal as we need them to be. Enough said DONE.

We have enough issues right now with the track lag and getting it resolved. So please people act like the mature gentlemen you are.
