I'm running in another Super GT race today with both classes, we should have a full field. I'll see how it goes and report back.

I don't have a super fast connection (3mb), but it's very stable. After the race at Suzuka, I checked my connection and found that it had a problem and my download speeds had dropped way off, I got a repairman out here and I'm back up to full speed. I run other series and have never had problems like we are having. I've always ran wirless with no problems and with NAT 2, last night I wanted to remove any possibility of problems on my end so I hard wired my modem directly to the PS3 which allowed me to have NAT 1. I'm going to go with the same setup today in the other race and see what happens.

I still think we need to either limit the field or get rid of the mics. I like the bs'ing before the race also, but I'd just as soon not have to listen to people chatting while the race is going on anyway.

I hate to admit it, but 12 seems to be the magic number. So let us know if the full room is good or bad Bo. Thanks.

I have no problem with sitting out. My sisters bday is the 22nd so I probably couldnt have joined anyway.

Ok. If there's room let me know because it's fun running with you guys.

I'll bet things are straightened out next week seeing that there's an update along with the dlc stuff.

Please continue to hang out here and jump in our lounges anytime. One day we will get it squared away.

12. scorp.

Those are the regulars who have been around.

Logan can't make it and Mattics is not around unfortunately.

I think DA was first to add so he gets the spot for the 22nd if any of the regulars can't make it. Next Zoh then Envy if we have three out.

Honestly 3mbs isn't that great b/c that's your download speed, so your upload must be horrible. You really should consider upgrading to a faster more reliable internet service. That's not really acceptable in the field of online gaming (3mbs).

Let's cut to the chase. In order to race I want to see a Pingtest screenshot. Here is mine.

It must be from your PS3 Internet search function. A laptop, PC, phone or tablet will not show PS3 capabilities. Type in Pingtest and Pingtest dot net should be the first hit. You must use a controller to move the cursor around. Post a screen shot here in this thread.

You can take a photo from your phone. Use a the free Photobucket app. and upload your photo to your album in that app. After uploaded view your screenshot. Hit the i in the lower right hand corner and grab the last IMG code to paste here.

Or use a camera with a card like you would for those party photos you take. Again go to Photobucket, it's free, upload copy IMG and paste.

Or any picture host.

Thanks.

I started a thread titled, PD servers are GARBAGE, here on GTP. The overlying theme for lag seems to be that the peer to peer system begins to fail with only one bad connection.

Here is some info:

Famine
The effect increases exponentially as you add more machines. It can be pretty bad with fewer drivers if there's a sufficiently bad connection in there, but even a moderate connection can hamstring a lobby.

Incidentally, it's Pingtest you need to use, rather than Speedtest. The actual data transferred is a nothingness (something like a quarter of a megabyte an hour), it's the latency that gets you. And always remember than your Ping might look good to your local server:

Under 50ms is a decent result for online gaming, and that jitter indicates a nice, stable connection

But it's not going to be quite as good to someone on the opposite side of the next continent:

The jitter's still showing a stable connection, but now it takes 0.1s for my actions to register with you and another 0.1s for yours to register with me. And to be honest, that's better than I expected - proportionally most of the delay is within the home and local routing rather than the remaining 11,000 miles of the journey

You might be playing in a room with 10 guys from California, exchanging data between you at 10ms intervals, but as soon as I join and make it 11, it takes every single one of you 0.1s to communicate with my machine and my machine takes 0.1s to send data back to each of your ten machines.

This is also why my LAN was lag-free, as I said. All of the machines were in the room and data transfer was limited only by the cabling (Cat6) and the switch (Gigabit). We had LAN-specific accounts to prevent external machines joining for this reason.

I can upload the photo if you want to email it to me too, just pm me. Im not sure about rules, can I post my email here?

Gonna have to email that to you or Brett cause I still don't get that whole bucket thing

Just got out of a full Open Lobby. Room set to Very Low, mics. to Minimal. All U.S. drivers, worst lag ever. Low quality is not the fix. It's whoever might have low connection quality causing the lag.

Jess, Scorp, ncr and Greyfox were with me.

Any results Bo?

The race went fine with no problems. But we only had 13 cars at the start and 1 watching. I think we ended up with 8 cars at the end due to people just quitting. We ran 78 laps at Nurburgring GP/D. We were in an open lobby with no mics. I was hoping that we would have had a full field, as it was, it wasn't much help with your situation. These were mainly people from all around Europe, I believe that DA6 and I were the only ones from the USA.

The night before the Daytona race, we ran in an open lobby with 15-16 cars and mics on with no problems. That was the room that DJ posted, most of the GT300 drivers were there, along with people who just popped in.

All you have to do is hit the copy button below the results and then hit paste! I was particularly pleased to lose nothing from my packet.
