With regard to Boshuter disconnecting during qualification. I would like to know what you think about a driver who sets a time during qualification who then later becomes disconnected.

Choice 1: Do we want to play tough luck and they grid up last in class?

or

Choice 2: Let the driver grid up where they placed just before the drop?

Thanks.

Hopefully this won't happen again. I figured that Bo would just re-qualify after getting disconnected. He certainly could have moved up in the grid, don't think anyone would have minded.

Watched the last couple laps of JT and Roadrash's battle to the wire. That's some Youtube material fer sure. Hope someone who's photo savvy can get a shot of the finish.

GT300 was a wild race too. Several close laps between Bo, Scorpion and myself. Felt great to put together some consistent laps after struggling for so long at Fuji.

Looks like it might be a tough one next. I'm not real good at driving in reverse!

I would have liked to see Boshuter get his spot back after the disconnect. I vote for choice # 2. Hopefully we won't see this again in the future, but if we do it makes sense to me to get in the correct order.

Next week is a 2 stopper for me 100%. 34 laps is a while.

That's strange I am actually getting better tire wear on this track than on Fuji:indiff:
I was actually thinking of making only one stop this week, although it is going to be tough to keep up to the Celica's which by now are probably running in the low 1:25's.:drool:

Right now I can manage to run in the 1:27's and should still be able to squeek by with only on pit stop:nervous:

after some serious testing and tuning.....:yuck:

I was able to calculate my race strategy, one stop with an estimated finishing time of 49-50 mins, IF I don't get into any walls or accidents :nervous:

Some added rules:

-Any driver disconnected during qualification will be allowed to start in the position their fastest time places them within their class.

-If a driver decides to pit for the remainder of a race or pull off track and park after a racing incident causes them to crash which places them in what they believe to be an irrecoverable situation, last place finishing points will be awarded. The incident must be reported for review by Stewards and judged justified for the points award.

-If a driver races half of a race length and decides to pit for the remainder of the race or pull off track and park without a judged and justified incident caused by another driver, one half of last place finishing points will be awarded.

Awesome photos JT. Great shots of the 500 finish. What was the winning margin?

Looks like Scorpion's been going at TMR already. Love that track in forward-perfect for light nimble cars.

The margin was .008. Looks closer in the pics though

I think you won because of that fancy white paint across your front aero wing.

I kept looking over at you while we were drag racing and I swore you were in front

Lol, my car must not be light or nimble, all it does is slide around and run into walls. :ouch: I'm going to have to force myself to practice on this track.... maybe later in the week.

I don't think the Celica's will have a chance this week, that Autobacs Toyota MR2 is just too quick on a course like this.:odd:

This town is looking like a ghost town.

I know, not much activity in this thread the last couple of weeks.

What kind of times are you GT500 guys running? I spent some time last night running 4 different GT300 cars on this track, 4 of them were almost identical, 3 had times within .1 second and the 4th was within .4.

There's a pretty good chance we may be going out of town for Thanksgiving weekend. Hate to miss Laguna, if anyone else can't make it maybe push back a week? If not no biggie.

Initial laps tested over lunch were 1:25's-1:28's. Same settings as Fuji.
Hope we can get a few cars on track for practice-doesn't look like too many easy passing spots.

I'm up for some practice, as long as it's in the evening, just say when. There are basically no passing spots on this track unless you can time it just right to draft a car on one of the long straights. Passing will probably be a matter of waiting for the car ahead to make a mistake.

We will not run the official Laguna race Thanksgiving week. We will hold a Spa practice race for anyone around.

1:19.974 fastest.

wow  that's fast!!
I am still stuck in the high 1:26:9's
I think the Celica's will have a huge advantage in this race:scared:, I took mine out with the stock set up and ran a 1:26:292 !!!!

I just hope my strategy of one pit stop pays off :nervous:

Maybe it's not the car, I can run identical times in both cars. If you are stuck in the 1:26's with either car, you might just need some practice on this track. 💡

With the small amount of laps I ran in practice yesterday I was able to take 1-1.5 seconds off my lap times with just running better lines through the turns. The key to finishing well here is going to be consistancy and staying pointed the right way on the track

Great! Thanks JT. Hope to get in some night runs w/some of the other 300's this week.

I'm up for that any night, just let me know when. 👍 I hate practicing by myself, never know if I'm doing good or not.

Ok, Wed and Thur for sure. 2 nites a maybe. Be great to get some others to join in. GT300 was a little thin @Fuji too.

Welp, had a very productive little practice right now. When i'm not spinning out all over the place I managed to put down a few 1:21ish laps in my Sexy Beast. Not to bad at all for me. Then again, I am liable to spin out on any portion of this track at any time for no reason whatsoever...
