Just for a different tilt on things... as opposed to the usual "GT4 sux" thread... name your 2 (two) most favourite parts of GT4. :D

I'll start.

1. 700+ cars! need I say more!
2. The sounds for slipstreaming... I think its neat how you get wind noises till you get into sum1s slip... might not be realistic but I like it. :)

ready, set, POST!!!!
:p

1. Physics engine. So many people complain about it, but in my experience (and the experience of many RL racers posting here) the physics are 95% on the money, and I love the fact that it forces you to drive more realistically (read: carefully :) )
2. Cars and tracks. Or content if you prefer. I can't separate these two, I love the fact that I occassionally find a surprise car in the used car lot, like the M Coupe or the TVR Griffith (I thought it wasn't in the game until then). I avoid car list threads like the plague, like to be surprised. Tracks like Le Mans, the 'Ring, and Suzuka are great, and I love the new slower middle sector of Grand Valley.

Damn it's tough to narrow it down to two things, but that'll do I guess.

Oh and honorable mention goes to attention to detail. I was racing in the Pan Euro Championship last night in Euro Hall, sitting behind the SLR McLaren and his airbrake popped up! I knew the car had one, but I'd never seen it before and was pleasantly surprised! I nearly ran wide checking it out :)

Quite simply the Nurburgring and the Ginnetta G4 are my two favorite things about GT4

1- The cars! More specifically pre '90 era cars. They'll often be very slow, but they make make great cruising material.

2- The realism. Both the graphics and physics engine.

-The Tracks (especially Nurburgring)
-The amount of tuning and such u can do to your car

!) My car is sort of in it
@) Many-ish real world tracks
#) So very many cars
$) Much easier to 'feel' weight transfer then GT3.
%) Loads of prize cars

1)Photo Mode: simply awesome.
2)700++ cars (I have the Korean version) almost too many.

I agree 100%.  Have you been watching me... :)

I guess I'll have to add something of my own then.

I love the realism of the car handling in the way that as you come over the crest of a bump your car will have virtually no steering at all, and you'll have to pull hard on the wheel/stick to get the nose to turn in, then as the car comes down and the suspension loads up, you've now got way too much lock on, and the rear starts to come around - time for some quick counter steer... :sly:

I also love the way the cars will 'step out' under heavy braking, making you correct and release the brakes a little, but now you're not stopping quick enough so you give more brake, but the rear's coming around again so you need to let off, but the corners coming up quick and you gotta slow down...

It rewards the good driver with fast times, and really separates the men from the boys I think. :)

Exactly right, GT4 doesn't suck, no game can be all things to all men (or women). For me, the racing and AI that the majority of moans are aimed at, are just a means to an end, namely to win money to gain access to more cars, I enjoy lone laps of circuits experimenting with different cars and lines, I guess they need the racing otherwise you would start with all tracks and cars and the logevity of the game would suffer. GT4 is the only game I've played since it came out, I know some people say it took so long to come out and it's full of bugs, but I've never had a serious bug lose me a race or muck up a lap time, no game is perfect, long live GT4.

my two cents

1) The size of the damn thing - I've been playing since it came out and I'm still only at 72 ish percent

2) I just love the way it plays, the number of tracks, the number of cars. I can't stop playing the damn thing.

roll on ps3 and GT5 (or vision gt) whatever its gonna be called.

1) THE NURB................

As I have said before, the pruchase price is worth paying just for the Nurb alone, it is THE best redition of the Nurb BAR NONE (and yes that includes GPL), anyone who has driven there in real life would appreciate the work PD have put into it.

2) Its a tie, either the missions or the bulging garage of 700+ cars.

The missions are one of the best additions to GT4, and along with the license tests are actually one of the only parts of the game that can actually offer a challange, and one you cannot win by chucking £'s at a car and making it 3 times more powerfull than the opposition.

The cars is self explainatory, but with some lovely classic Japanese metal, the '70 and '73 Skylines, plus the Mazda 110B, there really is something for everyone.

Dan.

1) Photo mode. Sad but true... I love it. It adds to the escapism. Now, not only can I stare at a rev counter and pretend I'm in some desirable lump of metal, but I can take photos of it too! Fantastic tool for firing the imagination.

2) The wide variety of cars.... hopping from a 1930s Auto Union slipstreamer into a Cizeta V16T, or comparing a Lotus Europa to the last of the line Esprit V8, gives the game a looooong loooong shelf life for me. The complex physics engine helps too, so that the driving experience lives up to the promise.

This game allows me to build a dream garage. It's electronically enhanced daydreaming. The next best thing to having the car on the driveway, waiting to go. I've probably complained at least as loudly as anyone else about bits of it, but I still think it's the best car game I've ever experienced, and it's better than GT3, which was my favourite until I got GT4.

1. The sound and handling of the peugeot 205 rally evo 2 aound the 'ring (or anywhere else for that matter)

2. The sheer beauty and realism of the cars  to PD... (kicks Forzas butt! :dopey: )

1. GT4 supporting the Driving Force Pro 900 degree wheel. This includes physics and how well this wheel works for GT4.

2. Graphics.

the size of the game. its huge, and is a challenge, especially on the manufacturer races, and nurburgring :D

1)photomode- i love it.
2) variety- there is so much the game offers in terms of variety. with all those cars and tracks, there is just so much to do

i said it before: many people spend waaayy too long on concentrating on the bad aspects of the game and not spending enough time appreciating what they have

1. The cars, and the amount of them. GT3 failed me in that aspect, GT4 delivered, and when it added my car again, I was finally able to put away GT2. 👍

2. 1080i. The fact this was added finally gave me a reason to buy a big screen.

the only bad thing i can find about GT4 is some cars it could of added and didnt. like the BTCC or the newer DTM cars :D:D, other than that the car list is incredible

This is hard to choose 2 things that I like most about GT4..well,
1) 700+ cars - especially the awesome cars from the 50's-80's ;)
2) As for my second choice - GT Mode 👍

Nordschleife with DFP! Is that two or one?

Ok, the second

normal car, with N2 tyres and the DFP

As I have said before, the pruchase price is worth paying just for the Nurb alone

I also agree. Free Running the 'Ring in Arcade would have justified my purchase of the game, esp with the DFP. So there's my two: the 'Ring, and the DFP support. 👍

1) So.....many....cars! wooo. A/C and Alpine to VW and Volvo - alright some of them arerubbish but hey, when I don't like one i can go and try another one. or three. or ten. or spend a week doing...............

2) Free run. At the Ring (although El Capitan is superb as well) on N tyres - it says a lot that I can happily spend hours running a few different cars round trying to beat my own times.

Great job PD. But now i've seen the look of the PS3........oooooh.......must.....buy....new...shiny....machine.
Hurry up Sony, I want more GT!

1) The vast amount of cars.

2) The tracks.

1. doing clean laps in class c cars and then watching replay in fast forward from the 'on the ground' camera [while smoking :)]

2. buying plain road car [like supra, or is200], putting on mods, and destroying the opposition [fav being toyota glanza]

1) Amount of cars. Need I say more?
2) Amount of tracks, and the realism of them.

1)nurburgring

2)dfp/physics

great thread...I was/am amazed how many people pick apart GT4 on this board. This is very refreshing. good job 👍 👍
