Duke, Morphine really does have disctinctive sound, and they're great. It's nice to hear a rock group that doesn't use a traditional set up and make a great sound anyway.

I'll definitely be picking up Cure for Pain when I see it.
 
And that guy plays two sax-a-maphones simultaneously.
 
Yup! That's the coolest. He doesn't do it all the time but I've seen him do it on some songs.

Glad you like them, Klos. Unfortunately the songwriter/vocalist/bassist (Mark Sandman) died of a heart attack a few years ago. He was in his late 40s at the time, and I believe he suffered the attack on stage at a concert in Italy. But they have half a dozen albums or so, of which the two I mentioned are my favorites.
 
I know someone who hung out with them after a show in their hotel. Apparently they were very down to earth and friendly and not into groupies and stuff.

Mark Sandman had a pretty bad drug problem and I think that contributed to his death.

I guess he got his cure for pain.

Hard to say what's a band and not a band, but in my opinion, it's any group that's consistently performed music together. These are groups that never seem to let me down (well, maybe once or twice).
