Sounds like to me just about every team is after Kimi.
Why wouldn’t they be? He is on the market for 2007 and is one of the fastest drivers in F1 at the moment.

Though, as kensei mentioned earlier, Kimi and Trulli at Toyota would rock. Kimi is my favourite driver, Trulli is one of my favourite drivers, and Toyota is one of my favourite teams.

And Toyota will be on the pace in 2007. No doubt.

Kimi and Jarno would be effin' cool. I can't wait.

you know who would be even cooler... JV and Sato. Just hurry up the inevitable...

Really though a Kimi/Jarno pairing would be good for the team. I just dont think Kimi will go to any team other then ferrari befor he wins the title. No sense going to a team that still needs a year or two to run at the top consistently If you've still got a great shot at winning a title at a young age like he does.

He needs to go to a team that can run at the top consistantly. McLaren tend to build fast chassis’ (will that even happen without Newey?) – unfortunatly their reliability record is horrible. If McLaren didn’t have such reliability problems Kimi could have won at least 2, possibly 3, world titles by now.

So he needs to move to a team that doesn’t have these reliability problems i.e. Ferrari, Toyota, or even Red Bull.

Toyota will be the team to beat in the immediate future. They will be fighting for wins in 2006 and, IMO, championships in 2007.

ferrari has always been the team to beat. they had a bad year but they are still the place to go if you want to win a title. Kimi is one of the best, and they will get him just like they got MS.

toyota, although they might have a small chance of doing better and better in the future, just dont have the credit that a team like ferrari do.

Have you been watching Toyota at all lately? There is no might about them having a chance at doing better and better. Every single year since their entry into F1 has been consistent improvement. Mike Gascoyne has and will continue doing a good job improving the car. Toyota really needs a fully legitimate championship driver, one like Kimi. With Kimi on board, you would see the car perform even better and see much more improvement. You need to give Toyota and their program a little more credit. They have been making these improvements every year with drivers that have not been overly great in F1. Jarno and Ralfie both are good drivers, but neither of them are championship material.

just because a team does better and better every year in their short time in a sport doesnt mean that they will keep doing that. that would be superhuman. there will be a point when they will level off and maybe (I hope) do worse.

Why would they level off next year? I would not say getting better and better every year would be superhuman. Ferrari just had a nice run and improved enough each year to stay out in front, but nothing overly superhuman. But unlike Ferrari, Toyota is still a fairly young team. They are just beginning to become more and more competitive. I see Toyota continuing to improve, especially since this is, I think, Mike Gascoyne third year and he has really just begun to get the car the way he wants it to be.

I didnt say next year would be their year to fail, just that realisticly they must come to a point when progress is slowed by something. even ferrari had this problem in 05.

I think Toyota needs Kimi to really beat the **** out of the car. The ferrari is too italian...it needs to be driven with grace and precision, much like the german precision Schumy brought for so many years.

Kimi is the Formula Viking. He needs a longboat, not a canoe. Toyota is probably the most reliable car on the grid (minus the michelin failures, but, 1, those were michelin, and 2, they're on B-stone's now.).

I don't see Ferrari doing exceptionally well next year. Between Massa and whomever else, I think it's just going to be the break-in year for a great 07 season.

The TF106 will be only the second car Mike has penned, IIRC (the first being the TF105, easily Toyotas most competitive car to date). Anywho, I completely agree.

That’s because Ferrari became complacent, and are also running out of funding. Toyota have a great technical staff, great motivation, the sponsors are happy, and they are under a lot of pressure to succeed.

Their progress will inevitably be slowed by something, sometime. But, I think that will not happen for a few seasons, yet. Perhaps the 2008 rule changes will put them towards the back of the grid – but, for the moment, Toyota look in great shape for 2006 and 2007.

You think? Personally, I think it will be a good season for Ferrari. They are motivated, and they are taking a super-analytical approach towards the F2006. I’d say that the major problems from 2005 will be solved for 2006.

I don't know about anyone else, but I'm getting good vibes from Williams. I mean they have Cosworth making their V8's(any questions?) and they have probably the best driver line-up on the grid. Webber and Rosberg(Nico that is). I'm not sure why I'm getting these vibes, but I got the same vibes for Fernando and Renault at the end of 2004. no one belived me but looked what happened. I belive the constructor's race will be (in this order) Williams, McLaren, Red Bull, Renault/Toyota(something tells me they might stumble). I'm not exactly sure who will take the drivers title. I figure it will be a good fight between Webber and Kimi and maybe Alonso once more if the Renault isn't too far off pace(remember, they supply the GP2 cars with V8's). that's it for now, we will find out in something like 75 days.

rock.

what makes you think webber has a chance at winning the title? If he has any chance of it button could win the title in a midland...

The honda and the bmw williams were closly matched last year and I think both drivers are matched closly in talent as well. I think buttom might be a little bit better but thats just imo.

I said Ferrari would do well, but not exceptionally well. Massa needs a year with the team. If Rossi comes in with Kimi going to Toyota, I think he'd also need a season or a half of one to get to his full potential. They'll still do well, but I don't see them winning any championships.

Massa tested with the team for a year in 2003… and they do have Schumacher, you shouldn’t under estimate him IMO.

Schumacher... bah! that old guy needs a walker these days!

you are right though he still is a force in F1. Masa is going to need to really step up though. MS cant score all the points for ferrari. I think it might be like button and sato in '05.

Yeah, but he hasn't raced with them. Massa will be great, but he still needs some kind of break-in period. Same with Rossi.

This is assuming Rossi joins and Schumy takes off.

belive me, Webber is good. he's done this good so far in what is considered back-of-the field cars, and button, well, look at the '04 season. I've seen things from Button just like I've seen things from Alonso, I can't explain them, I just get this feeling. again, people thought the same thing last year about winning the title in '05. looking back on it, I'm not so sure if Webber will win the title, but the reason why I nominatd Webber over Nico is because it is difficult for a driver to win a race in his first season, let alone the championship. but I belive Williams will be good in '06.

I dont think they will run consistently better then they have been. mid field. sure they will do better in a few races but I dont think they will do any better then they did when they were with BMW. not in 06 anyway.

How is Rossi going to fit all that hair under the Ferrari helmet?, besides, where would he have to write 'The Doctor' besides his butt whenever he's driving?

THE ED3
good point... the butt camera wont work so well once he goes to F1...

You mean no more onboards of Rossi pulling his leathers out of his crotch? What will Max Mosley take away next! Uggh!

They could still use the butt cam as a joke... but about the only thing you could see is mid race when he lifts one cheek to let on off...
