Also has anyone noticed that GT4 prologue NY track looks better than NY track on GT4? Check it out for yourselves! The textures are mushy on GT4 NY track!

Well I can only describe at the moment but basically GT4P NY track textures are clear and for e.g signs can be read easily. But on GT4 the textures are unreadable and mushy! I've been playing the Japanese GT4 for a day or so now and its also got some slowdown when all 6 cars are inview on some tracks!!!! Whats going on??

Are you playing it 1080i or 480i? I can easily imagine that texture resolution has to be reduced to get a smooth frame-rate at 1080.

If someone has screencap capability, and both GT4 and GT4P, capturing both at the same resolution, that would be the best way to solve it.

Blurred, or pasted. I got my friend to look at his and he also agreed! I'm hoping other people will notice and it noty just me. When you get to look for yourself check out the scrolling logos with say gran turismo 4 and Digital Polyphony, they're awful on GT4!! WHY I ASK?? Isn't GT about perfection???

Edit Mr R32 did you try changing the resolution in the screen res options menu, and does this make any difference for you at all?

EditII: From my experience of GT4P on my 100hz set with RGB connection All i can say is ill be glad of some texture smoothing because in Prologue it was so garingly jagged and in your face, im sure thats why its my least favorite track

I compared the 2 games on normal setting with an RGB connection. But that could explain the reduced texture quality on NY. Has anyone seen the juttery slow down that occasionally happens?

I'm soon to have a look at that tomo! I'm still navigating through all the Japanese options! But game players shouldn't be expected to fiddle with options to get a console game running smoothly, thats for pc gamers!!

I guess that's what you get for importing... you purposefully subjected yourself to Japanese menus, so there's no one to blame but yourself. I doubt I'll have any problems navigating the American menus when the day comes.

Your quite right, but i love my games and importing has many (+)'s like my shiny Nintendo DS etc

Ignore all these negative points (slowdown etc) and GT4 is still an amazing game!!!! But not being able to race tuned cars against a friend is the worst. Me and my mate sat down yesterday aft for an intense racing session only to find our tuned beauties couldn't be raced against each other!!

This has taken 50% of the GT4 appeal away!!

I got prolouge right in my hands and I'm looking at nyc, it looks good but the jaggies are a killer. Now I have seen vids of nyc on the final game and it looks the same, but less jaggy. I dont know where you are coming off but I really do think you are full of bull. Gt4-slowdowns, that my friend is a good oxymoron.

oh really? it's funny you mention this... because the prologue version of new york looks very bad when compared to the one on the BMW demo.
specially the shaders!

intresting info non the less. will have to check this out formyself when and if i do get my japanese copy (i'm gonna wait one or two weeks into january.. if i don't hear about a US release date by then, i'm biting the bullet)

Im guessing that the GT4 Prologue version you own is the PAL version since I see you're from the UK. The reason why you might think that your imported GT4 has "mushy" textures is that it's a NTSC version. NTSC has a lower resolution then PAL which may explain the "mushiness".

I think he means that you can't use your modified cars from Simulation mode in the 2 player (Arcade) mode.

damn, i thought the prologue NY track seemed kinda empty (with cardboard cut-out people standing next to the circuit), maybe the problem lays with your connection...
are there still cardboard cut-outs next to the road or are all spectators animated now?
