I was just looking at the GT3 car list and I saw the Toyota Altezza AS200 and I've never seen it in GT3. Has anybody else?

Uhhh... Theres 30000+ members here, so its pretty obvious that other people would have seen it.:rolleyes:

there are RS200 and AS200 in my PAL GT3.

4info:

AS200, 20.600Cr, 157BHP, 20.40kgf, 1998cc, 1310kg, FR, NA
RS200, 24.000Cr, 207BHP, 22.00kgf, 1998cc, 1340kg, FR, NA

If you have the North American Version, the AS2000 is called a Lexus IS. It's probably lighter because it has a 4 cylinder engine.

EDIT- it has an inline 6-cylinder engine, the RS2000 has a 4-cylinder engine.

I don't think that AS200 and lexus IS are same car? Are they?

This is from the MK program-

173=altezza_as200_98 20600 1998 (TOYOTA) Lexus IS
174=altezza_rs200_98 24000 1998 (TOYOTA) ALTEZZA RS200(J)

Doesn't the Lexus IS have a three liter V6?

I think they are different

Toyota Altezza: 2L inline 4 (3S-GE), Japan
Lexus IS200: 2L inline 6 (1G-FE), most of the world
Lexus IS300: 3L inline 6 (2JZ-GE), Canada and USA. This car is not in GT3, which is sad, 'cause it's the best one.

Ahhh .... so that's it. Well I seem to learn something new every time I visit GTP :)

If the numbers are correct, the Lexus IS300 and the Toyota Altezza RS200 would have similar power outputs. So the IS200 makes a little more sence, because the power outputs vary. Of course, PD artificially kept the 6-cyl AS/IS down on total tuning potential compared to the 4-cyl RS200. Go figure.

PD has the chance to make all this right by offering the AS/IS/RS/JTHBD192/SXE10 in Thundercloud Metallic, in the upcoming GT4. Although that request might push the release date back another two months.

Of course, shame on us Americans for driving American-market cars! How dare we not spend thousands more to import an engine, body kits, and other interior garnish to have a car with marginally better performance! And don't get me started how the GT series tends to avoid the all-important US-market color choices for the very same cars the Japanese have sold on our shores... :D

What GT3 needed is a DOPE Alteeza prize car with a cool paint job...

JGTC is comming to America in a matter of days and it's a 30 minute drive for me. But NONE of my cheap friends can make the journey. How depressing.

Sorry to mix up, but the AS200 has a LOUSY 4-Speed automatic !!! Even if you play manual, it's only got 4 gears :( Just like the Mazda 6 (Antenza sp?) in GT Concept

Altezza AS200 (Lexus IS200) in Australia has 112kW, which is equivalent to 150bhp
Altezza RS200 (Lexus IS300) in Australia has 157kW, which is equivalent to 210bhp

They are both V6 but IS200 is 2L and IS300 is 3L

Talking in this aspect, Lexus names its cars this way:

IS200- 2.0L
IS300- 3.0L
RX330- 3.3L
LS430- 4.3L

Notice the pattern?

And in our real world, most autos are 4-speed, with the exception of luxury cars, they have 5 or 6 speed. So 4 speed is what we see everyday, I'd be surprised if it had a 5 speed auto.

The IS 200 and 300 are straight sixes.
The RX330 is V6.
