Well, I finally broke down and purchased a digital camera. I'd like to get opinions on what may become a new hobby for me. ;) Here's one of the first things I've done with it.

Title: Life's a Beach
Camera: Sony Cybershot P10
Description: This was taken at a local lake. My daughter is the one in the photo. She would giggle each time the waves splashed between her toes. Post processed in Photoshop for black and white plus contrast adjustments (the lighting was terrible where we were standing).

More to come!

I took a ton of fireworks pictures for the 4th of July, and placed the best ones into a series called "Independence". I'll post them up as soon as I get them resized...they are HUGE. :)

Here they come! If you've got Da Phat Pipe, you can view the full-size versions of these at http://altf8.deviantart.com

Title: Independence I
Camera: Sony Cybershot P10
Description: Taken with the special "Fireworks" mode on the P10. No post-processing except for the crop, resize and the text.

Title: Independence II
Camera: Sony Cybershot P10
Description: Same method as Independence I. This one was an accident, but it looked kinda neat. So, I kept it. :)

Title: Independence III
Camera: Sony Cybershot P10
Description: Same method as the others. The detail of the red burst here was incredible. I highly recommend checking out the full size version at the above link.

Title: Independence IV
Camera: Sony Cybershot P10
Description: Easily the best one. Since I was holding the camera without a tripod, most of the images have the 'squiggly' effect - which isn't all bad. But, this one came out near perfect.

Title: Independence V
Camera: Sony Cybershot P10
Description: Probably the best group photo that came out. I love the saturation this camera cranks out!

Title: Independence VI
Camera: Sony Cybershot P10
Description: This 'burning bush' effect came because of an apparent mishap during the show. When they first started launching, they seemed to let loose about 1/4 of the fireworks nearly all at once, right near the ground. Oops. Anyway, there was this large tree between us and the ground crew - giving this effect. :)

Wow, those are excellent pictures. 👍 If you like taking pictures, you should pursue photography. It can be very awarding.

Very nice! 👍 I especially the first one. I really like down to earth black & white pictures. I like the title too

Nice! The fireworks came out great. You must have a fast shutter on that thing... :)

Quite the opposite, actually. That's a 2 second shutter. :)

I want a Sony Cybershot P10. This photo rocks! :)

Awesome fireworks photos, Alt, I don't believe I have ever seen any like that before. Great work!

I need to get a camera like yours. Next year when I light off some fireworks like that, I'll have to take some pictures. Yours turned out really nice, we'll be having some thunderbombs or the accual name of it "big bad ass bomb."

When that thing explodes it looks like a giant sphere in the sky and then it pops, which blows air your way and rattles every part of your body, and even houses that are pretty far away. :)

Here's a link to one I found, I was wondering if it's the same one and price you paid. :D

Very good pics AltF8. I can't believe you were handholding. Are you sure you're not dead?!

Hi,
You do great work!! If you want to pursue other avenues of digital photography thru contract work, send me an email. nicole@squiver.com
We recently launched our site, June 24 and for what it may be worth, we have really high ranking for the search of "exclusive stock photography". ( 1st on lycos, 2nd on yahoo and google) With that said, our Grand Launch is scheduled for mid August, and I would be interested in your work, that is, if you are willing.
Thanks for reading,
Nicole
