Am I the only one who enjoys driving slow cars?

Everyone seems to know the names of the corners in the nurburgring. Can anyone tell me where I can find their names?

Take a slow car and tour the 'Ring. There are green signs every so often that name the sections of the track.
 
I love slow cars too
they are fun to drive in stock form
sometimes I think miata is too fast for me
specially when I am lapping at the ring
but I had so much fun with it
 
I just injoy running slow cars in 2 player because it is so boring with the computer and by my self i dont really learn anything new if i am in two player my friend will usually do better than me in some corners so i learn what speeds i should go and where to brake and stuff
I really liked when we got 2 nsx (jgtc) plain stock and raced in Laguna Seca. it was extremly challenging specially fun

I wouldn't worry too much about it for driving. I've golded all the license tests, I've won mission 34, and I don't have a clue where 'Flugplatz' is. It just makes talking about the Ring easier.

right, but incomplete. Some sections are well known to ringers but unsigned on track (Lauda links, sprunghugel, Kottenburn, etc)

I agree with the Mazda comments. I just used this car today to beat the RX7's and RX8's in the RE races under Mazda. It gave me 60-70 a spec points for each track, and I rode the nitrous almost the entire time :lol:

Plus, the car has very predictable handling and just the right amount of oversteer :)

I didn't beef mine all the way up, I think only to 230 and I didn't even fool with the suspension (trying to economically get lots of points) :)

I love the Cosmos. It's a great little sports car. I used it in the Mazda RE races, but I didn't use nitrous. I don't know, it just doesn't seem right to me. I haven't bought or used nitrous yet.

It's a great tool for A - spec, and it doesn't affect your points either.

It's really unrealistic for PD to let sus buy a 100 shot of NOS for a relatively slow old car, but hey it's in the game, might as well use it :)
 
Talking about the mighty Midget, I struggled to win the one-make race with only an oil change, but I finally did it. Collected my prize "car" and got to thinking.

Can it climb GT4's longest, steepest hills?

So, I got in the Arcade version and got going on Costa di Amalfi. It found trouble in a couple of spots, but still managed to keep above 10mph. If it had four wheels, the extra weight and drag may have been too much for this tiger.

Also, going down the easy side, gravity got it to hit its rev limiter. Yes, you heard right - PD stuck a rev limiter in this thing! I burst out laughing.

Slow cars rule! Much less stressful to drive than high end wonders and, if you truly love all cars, you will never complain about driving a slow car. I try to spank my own lap times when I get bored using slower cars because it's so much more interesting for me and I learn about my driving style better than in a fast car. Props to C-class cars and below! 👍
 
You know what I enjoy the most right now (and it is for me the closest "simulation" experience):

Arcade Mode > Time trial,
No race car yet,
No driver aids,
N3 tires,
No modification on power and weight,
Only on real race tracks (actually Suzuka and nurburgring),
And I learn a lot while having a lot of fun battling against myself...

It climbs all the hills except one in Amalfi reversed.
This means that only this and the worst cars in the game (should be the 1886 Daimler and Benz, and maybe the Citroen 2CV) can't complete a lap in all tracks.
 
Just won me a Camaro LM racecar by using a used - 97 Camaro unmodified, 184 points indicates the odds..

- and even a simple race like Autumn ring mini at sunday cup becomes a challenge in a stock Volvo 240!

I refuse to drive any car with more than 50 HP. Actually I don't, but I just can't help myself sometimes.



I lapped the 'Ring twice with that old-school Midget (12HP, 18:04 laptime), it's no-brakes around the entire course and you only need to let off the throttle for Wehrseifen, the rest can be taken at full throttle... :D

Too bad the game does not offer more points to true driving fanatics! maybe i'll take my Model T to the Ring'. :cheers:

I like driving the Subaru 360 ('58), It is funny yet frustrating at the same time as I can only get 51 MPH at most when tuned.

errata:
Midget can't climb Assisi reversed.
Also the Mazda Carol did it for a hair, and Amalfi reversed only in R gear :)
powerful as a Fiat 500, but lacks in torque (360cc only engine)

How then can you explain that 2CV at the "eau-rouge" during the 24 heures 2CV at Spa ?

I dont like the painfully slow cars but I do own a lightly tuned panda. I haven't tried my ginetta g4 yet but ill give it a try when my b-spec driver finishes the enduro race that he is currently doing :-P

No, Eau-Rouge is not an optical illusion, I walked it once. Maybe the 2CVs use nitrous to get at the top :)
 
I tried driving the VW Lupo I think it was, and I HATED that car! I think driving slow cars is okay as long as they corner well enough. I hate cars that have lots of understeer, and I can handle almost all oversteer unless it swings the back end around.

Fully tuned it's a lot of fun to drive, I love taking it around to the Capri Rally :dopey:

Hey I'm not alone, the tuned Volvo is a great way to do the Capri. The challenge intensifies for the second race (reverse), but it CAN be done with lots of fun. :)
