Bugger.

I did preorder (September 2009) GT5 from amazon.co.uk, since no amazon.fi for Finland. I was surprised there were not any bonus car codes with it and I did contact their customers service.

Their lousy reply was I cannot get those bonus cars because their preorder bonuses are for people in UK only. I feel cheated.

I did get Mafia II and Red Dead Redemption with preorder stuff from them and none said I was not qualified on them because I'm not british.

If that's the case:
DON'T BUY ANYTHING FROM AMAZON.CO.UK unless you live there!

Which cars would they be?

I havnt contacted amazon uk yet but if there are some free cars I will 👍

They email you the code. I got mine on the 24th. Just ask them to resend the email. The bonus for red dead and mafia come with the game. Gt5s is sent via email.

same for me. I live in Germany. But they gave me a 5£ discount my GT5 order and a 5£ discount for my next Amazon order. It su**s anyway.

Is there way to contact PolyPhony Digital directly and tell people are left ripped off?

That is discrimination if Amazon did that in the U.S.

Could you copy/paste the e-mail you received, please?

Does it start the same way as Tappajakoala's?

Thanks.

I got the email too a few minutes ago:

you probably buy this game too late.
amazon.co.uk had only for example 500 code, so if you ordered when the text wasn't display, you will not received a code

The text was displayed but because I'm living in Ireland I didn't get the codes :(

I got mine from Amazon.com (US) I'm Canadian so it would be exported, got my SLS code in my Email on the 26th, still haven't gotten the game, can't wait tell the 30th :D

yeh if you buy from amazon.co.uk and live outside the uk they will not send you the code.

got my email this morning i live in ireland, but emailed them that i live in northern ireland (where my gfs amazon account is regiestered) and told them the irish address is my work address and i use it only for deliveries but i live in the UK.

will update when they get back.

im not too bothered to be honest though.

amazon.ie just redirects to amazon.co.uk

I ordered mine from Amazon (late, so thought i'd missed out) but wasn't aware that they let you know via e-mail. Just checked and found the code for the Mazda and a note saying that one for the F1 will follow.

That's bizarre. I thought EU law dictated that there be no impediments for consumers within the EU to buy anything they want from any retailer within the EU at no detriment to themselves. Sadly, even if that's true, getting Amazon to buckle on this is likely to be next to impossible.. a shame, because the Mazda and McLaren F1 are amazing ;-) (the latter guarantees you a rich win on the British Lightweights..)

I'm in the UK but they refused to send me the codes because I pre-ordered the collectors edition... Penalised because I paid them MORE?!

Hello Customer,

...

I appreciate that - it's exactly the same e-mail I received - but what I wanted to know is what kind of e-mail akeyX received, or what did he tell them to receive the £5 discount.

I didn't get mine either, but this is true, they need to give them out. But i don't gonna stress because of two cars.
I got all my cars already with my SE from france.

But this is surly not legal. They never stated in the product description that you must be a Uk resident.
Maybe this is the new tactics to get mainland Europe to order their games from their respective countries.
I call BS

Send an e-mail to Sony, see what they say imo.

Same problem here. Annoyed, because I'm supposed to get at least one stealth car as a bonus, but having the game to play has taken the sting off of it. Not happy with my order at all though, since it came two days late :grumpy:

The fact is that amazon.co.uk seems to be completely lost with those pre-order bonuses; they do not even know how it's supposed to to go and as a result customers are treated differently.

I know some people outside UK that have received codes from them. Some got codes in email on Nov. 24th or 25th, some got them only after contacting their customer support and some even were told that "no codes for you, sorry" like others have stated here. So it's a complete mess and pure luck how it goes for each individual.

Its most likely that the stealth cars won't work for people with PSN accounts outside of UK. They had a 5 stealth car redeem code for sale on ebay, but its only limited to Asia PSN.

I did not get any stealth car codes with my preorder from amazon uk, i'm also in the Uk.

I'm certain this is illegal, but as someone said I don't know who would have the time and money to make them do something about it. Shame really.

I ordered three copies of GT5, 2 normal editions and one collectors edition. I live in Germany and ordered at amazon.co.uk.

They didn't send any codes. I went on the product site and read the forums, where I discovered a link to this page:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/feature....d_t=1401&pf_rd_p=218210527&pf_rd_i=1000299573

I'm not sure what I exactly clicked, but I send them an email with a contact form, asked where my codes are and got an answer one day later with two stealth cars in it. They worked on my german PSN account.
I send them another mail regarding the other two games I ordered, but didn't get an answer yet. Only the automatic mail which says people outside of the UK won't get codes... really strange, isn't it?
