amazon.co.uk refuses to give redeem-codes

Amazon.co.uk really messed this up.

They have stated three conditions which must all be true for you to be eligible for their pre-order bonus offer:

- Your order must've been made on or before November 15th
- You must've ordered standard edition of GT5
- You must be located in UK

Now, I placed my order on November 18th (later that 15th), I ordered Collectors Edition (as opposed to standard edition) and I live here in Finland (definitely outside UK). So I fail on all three conditions but still they sent me the codes for McLaren F1 and Mazda 787B stealth cars, which by the way work just fine outside UK as well (expect them to work within whole EU region).

It's a complete lottery, and I got lucky. But it's sad to see how some fellow racers have been screwed.

-I did preorder in September 05 2009
-I did order standard edition of GT5
-I'm not located in UK, but I bought from them PS3 in 2008 and after power cable change at local market it did work fine. Very odd they limit codes to UK residents only, since Europe use same code and area than UK. :/
 
I aint a uk resident, pre order collector edition and after a very nice mail to them i received 2 stealth codes yesterday, give it a try.
 
I have emailed them for a second time, to see what they say.
 
Any idea if amazon.com with the US collector's edition would let me get codes?
 
I pre-ordred from Amazon.com US on the 12th of Nov. I recieved 1 code so far. The other 4? No where to be found. I just emailed them.. It is very hard to get in touch with a human being there. But, that is the reason they are cheaper, because they don't have to employ 40,000 people.

Anyone else have this issue in the US?
 
I never got my codes, i emailed them back and they basicly replied "sorry but no" cheers like, thanks for taking my money.
 
I just got 2 codes fro Amazon UK even though I live in Ireland. They initially said it was for UK residents only but I informed them that I attend uni in Edinburgh, so they sent them to me just now.

I got 2 last week as well. 1 stealth 787b and 1 stealth F1. btw. I live in Germany. First I havent received them because of "bla bla outside of UK".
But after 3 nice and friendly emails I finally received the promised codes + 5€ discount and 5€ bonus for next buy.
 
send them an email letting them know that this practice is in violation of the Treaty establishing the European Community - Part Three: Community policies - Title VI: Common rules on competition, taxation and approximation of laws - Chapter 1: Rules on competition - Section 1: Rules applying to undertakings - Article 82.


Article 82
Any abuse by one or more undertakings of a dominant position within the common market or in a substantial part of it shall be prohibited as incompatible with the common market in so far as it may affect trade between Member States.
Such abuse may, in particular, consist in:
(a) directly or indirectly imposing unfair purchase or selling prices or other unfair trading conditions;
(b) limiting production, markets or technical development to the prejudice of consumers;
(c) applying dissimilar conditions to equivalent transactions with other trading parties, thereby placing them at a competitive disadvantage;
(d) making the conclusion of contracts subject to acceptance by the other parties of supplementary obligations which, by their nature or according to commercial usage, have no connection with the subject of such contracts.


in specific section a because they are providing another member state the game along with the codes and thus a product with more value then just the game.

i am not a lawyer so this might not work but the mere threat of legal action may be enough to make them say screw it just give them the codes.
 
How come you only get two cars? I bought my copy of GT5 from a random little games shop here in Hong Kong and all the copies they had in stock had the holographic card with the redeem code for 5 stealth cars. I now have the McLaren F1, GTR GT500, NSX GT500, Audi R10 and the Merc SLS sitting in my garage. Idon't understand why you would only get 2 cars from Amazon.co.uk.
 
I Pre-Ordered the CE 320GB Bundle after seeing this Thread I just sent them a Polite (begging :lol:) Enquiry.

I'll just have to wait and see what happens now.
 
CE edition from amazon.co.uk also - raised a Q in the FAQ section then did a search and found this.... Whoops - Epic fail for a first post. I'll post how I get on. 👍
 
Lovely email from amazon with codes for the Mazda & Maclaren and a happy chrimbo. Pushing my luck I've written back asking for the r10 to :D (in the spirit of Christmas).

I have a bit of a thing for Amazon, their customer service is second to none and we buy a lot from them because of this. Though I freely admit I was worried they had duped me on this one. A result :D.
