Hmm...we should decide on the new LMP class soon. First race is Friday and all the practice rounds have been done.

There's plenty my friend, trust me. Plus they are racing cars under the same rules so disadvantage is not an issue.

When you put it that way, maybe yes, but I still sort of like the idea of GTC, but if that doesn't work out, then I guess LMP2 is a good idea. 👍

Edit: And why does the M3 need lower HP? Last race it seemed fine.
 
I think I may have won this race had I stayed, but my kid has to come first. Sorry I had to leave. I figured a good setup on the Bentley, regardless of the weather it would have been easy to get out front. Spa clicks for me. I didn't get pole because I went out on racing soft tires. I didn't change the settings of the car before I entered. So my first lap was soft racing tires. Then I had to pit, change the tires to rain's, or intermediates, whichever, do a lap, come back around and do a flying lap. All while the rain was coming down! A disaster. The more time you spent waiting to set a time, the worse the conditions. Oh well, maybe next time I'll actually get to race. My best in the wet was a 2:21. Had it been dry I think high 1:58's were possible.

You guys set up the track again as I was leaving. I'm sure I could have gotten a better time if I'd been able to stay.

I'd like it around 550. The power/weight ratio should be a little over for the M3, as the extra weight really hurts cornering compared to the Ferrari and GT.

Yeah to be fair Spa isn't the tightest circuit on earth, it definitely favors the M3 in some key sections. However, when I raced with RB in practice I was keeping up in the more technical bits. My cornering in the GT is amazing. The M3 needs a little tweaking but probably not a lot.

Also I will have those pics soon I just lost my thumb drive so I have to go find it :grumpy:

I like GTC but I had no way of competing with gatrs, FH and blaze, they're lightyears ahead of me in this game. I was miles behind them by the end of the race at GP/F.

Depending on who was in the class I'd consider going back. But I also like LMP2!
 
Just realized that I don't even know what class I'm going to be in. :o
 
just out of curiousity, what if we have more than 16 people trying to race at once? it seems we had an issue with that before the spa race and im hoping people dont get shafted once the season starts.
 
Well, I would expect that last seasons racers get 1st priorities :D lol

i suppose at that point you could either split it up evenly into 2 rooms or make one room just lmp and one gt? then compare overall times

It's usually priority as to who signed up first. Once 16 spots are filled the rest of people are backups. At least that's how we always did it before.
 
Off-Topic, but I'm starting 24hr of Le Mans right now w/ the 787B :D Of course I'm going to suspend the race, silly. Or am I? :sly:
 
I don't think two different class races would be as good.

Any chance I can be added as a reserve? I would like to run in the gt class.
 
Also I for sure won't be here this Friday due to the holiday. Is anyone else going to be out of town? I know you can miss a race or two so I'm not super worried but I'd liked to have made the first official race :(
 
I thought we weren't racing this Friday. Maybe another preseason to test LMP2?

Maybe the ford needs a slight boost. I've broken into 2:22 on a dry track at Spa but it seemed with all the straights pretty difficult to do much better. Though I'm not the best driver here.

Also qualy was screwed up, it set me up ahead of multiple GT drivers that were better times. I started ahead of at least 3 GT drivers with better qualy laps, that I wasn't aware of until now.

yeah i didnt notice any big difference in straight line speed, the guys in the ferrari's were obviously more consistent with their lap times thats why they won. i wasnt consistent at all
 
:D I only had one or two quick spins on one lap because of worn tires

The Ford has a HUGE handling advantage.
So the power was cut, it excelled at Laguna Seca.
I'm pretty surprised the BMW wasn't faster on Spa, it's a relatively straight track.

Maybe we should leave the BMW alone... Perhaps a slight boost for the GT.
 
hmm thats interesting. thought the BMW had a huge handling advantage..go figure people seem to enjoy different cars lol.
