Half way point of the American Muscle Series and the second "Classic" Stock Car track ... Infineon. Which car and driver will be able to tame it's fast straights, technical corners and elevation changes?

Track :
Infineon (Sports Car Course) / Hotlap

Rules:
Use the car and setup you have opted for, following the rules outlined in the AMC Thread.

Discuss only T-times.
Clean OLR Standards:
No wall touching.
The enitire course is considered part of the track; sidewalks, rumble strips and all (just stay off the walls). There are areas of the track outlined with white lines, no rubbles, and then with additional 'track' on the other side of the lines ... these areas are considered part of the track also. Just no grass, sand, and gravel. And no wall or tire touching ;)

No hybrids
No Cheating of any kind

Time Submission:
Send your time via PM to me, including splits and final run.

Submit the time listed in replay file name by 11:59 AM (PST) October Sunday 9th. You may run as often or as little as you like; you've got the full week to perfect your setup and gain the fastest single lap that you can.

Although I'd prefer it if drivers didn't re-send multiple times (it may cause a mix up with what is considered your final and fastest run), this is only a loose rule ... you can submit more than once before the deadline, just try not to bury me :p

Luxy has kindly allowed us a little webspace for tracking splits (as per the Luxy Leaderboard used in the WRS):

Man, I just did another 10 laps and had just kinda almost better splits, then :crazy: :yuck: the last 2 turns....improved my time by like .07...*PUKE*

Oops ... I cut 'n' copy from previous weeks, screwed up by adding too many splits and deleted the wrong one ... I'll fix it now.
 
ran another 12 laps and got these splits:

These were my initial goals for the whole week, so we'll see where we go from here.

This is going to bring back memorys of that stupid but strangely addictive Superbird WRS race. Hopefully I'll be more competitive this week then last :(
 
Addictive? That was the first week that truly exposed Infineon as my weakest track ever ... lord how I grew to hate that damned bird.

I'm losing too much time on the first section ... a full second by T1 ... and considering that I haven't improved on this track in 3 months, I'd say that I'm taking completely the wrong line and wrong braking points. :(

Hey what are you folks with DFP using for settings?

I'm using:
Active Steering: ON
DFP Power Assist: OFF
DFP Feedback: STRONG

Do you think these make much difference?

In the Laguna thread I asked about HP...just curious what HP & wt everybodys running. I've got 336HP, 1153kg - from the garage, where you tweak settings.
 
Active steering - off
Power assist - off
Force feedback - strong

You should try turning the active steering off, IMO it makes a big difference!

I think my DFP settings are "everything on" or "strongest" ,,, what difference does turning anything off make? Come to think of it, what do half of these options do?

HP I'll answer when I get to my PS2, but I'm running 412HP and weight reduction 1 ... not sure what the net is, because the stock is 1415.

Well I spent another hour on this combo tonite and I trimmed another .5 off my time with my T2 time .2 faster, but I hit too much dirt...*WHEEP*....so I too have some work to do if I wish to catch ya on overall $$ this series Jet.

Got my head out of my posterior and ran a very nice set of 3 laps.

T1: 21.105 (-.388)
T2: 1'04.997 (-.642)
T3: (-1.636 seconds of old time:tup: )

Not my fastest possible--My best run in T1 was .211 seconds faster....so...
 
PS2 update: disc tray works. Laser does not.

I'm so confused why this is happening.... The PS2 gods must hate me! lol I fixed the disc tray, and even with all the wires in place, the laser does not function correctly! :ouch:

I'm running active steering on because I thought it might be more realistic...maybe I'll turn it off and see if I can at least be somewhat competitive.

Come on folks give me a break....you're making me look like I'm drivin' a pedal car out there. It's only Monday and you're 2.5s ahead. Of course last week you put 3.2s on me....so what's the matter with you chumps this week?
 
Sorry to hear about your PS2 woes, Red' ... that just keeps on sucking.
