I think someone mentioned hearing the car sounds more than the music. One negative to GT3 was that you couldn't adjust the volume levels of the music and sounds. All you could do was turn it on or off. Since I didn't care for GT2's music, I turned the music all the way down to one bar. I kind of liked the music themes for the "cities" with maybe West City with the best music. And besides, even if you don't like racing with music on, you can always listen to the music outside of the game as we'll get a Music Player. This "Music Player" deal may be reminiscent of the Music Player from the Ridge Racer series. If you remember playing any Ridge Racer game, you may remember the Music Player option. You have a demo race go on while you select the tunes you want to listen to. I don't know if GT4 will have this deal, so that remains to be seen.
This isn't about "should we care about music in GT4?" Instead, I think that we'll get whatever kind of music PD thinks us Americans either want us to listen to or choose songs at random. Hell, I sure don't want to listen to any crap like Musicspace.com or Razor and Tie come up with- old, almost forgotten fruity songs (for example, anything of Salt 'n Pepper, Vanilla Ice, Techtronic, Village People, or anything like that. Ever seen a commerical with these sponsors in it, disregard).
Other than that, I'd like some more electronica because that's the music I like and what kind of exudes rhythm and youthfulness. Just the right rock tune makes for some great racing as well. I just don't know too many. And if tunes were uncensored in GT4 (not going to happen obviously), here would be my pick:
Ludacris - Move B****
