Paul Oakenfold is all i have to say. he has escaped me every time i wanted to post on this thread! i don't know about u guys but electronica is perfect for the kind of game GT4 is. therefore, Paul Oakenfold would be a great fit in the soundtrack. I am also thinking ATB should be in. also, on a more heavier side, Ill Nino would be an awesome band to put in. some of their songs perfect for driving (especially racing) to.

Whoa look how this grew :o

Well my issue with the soundtrack is that I´m really enjoying the music from Prologue and I would have to see it replaced by other stuff (I really dig the japanese selections of the previous games)

It´s a matter of opinion of course.

About racing with music... that might not happen anyway since the music is by default turned off during the racing on GT Prologue. It only comes on the replays and menus.

I think Ludacris Move B**** is an alright song for GT4's Soundtrack :)

Hell yeah, there you are talkin' great, I'd like that song as the opening song of the game, really. I like rap a lot, tough I'm not a ricer.

See ya :sly:

What about Hoobastank thats a good band... I would like to see 1 of there songs in the gt4 sound track would be pretty cool

or snow patrol -run 👍 good crusing music

hellzyeah! Especially in the menus. I dunno 'bout you guys but that elevator muzak has to go. Better yet, make it like NFSU2 where you can pick which songs you want on and where you wann'em to play.

First of all, don't associate rap music with the tuner car crowd. It's popular, but doesn't denote "rice." Besides, what rap star probably wouldn't want a 1963 Chevy Impala? So, go easy on that.

The big factor for all of this is, how can you appeal to as many tastes of music for GT gamers as possible? I think the GT series has sort of evolved into a way that almost anyone can find anything they like. The hip-hop selection wasn't as diverse in GT3, but I'll take Snoop Dogg and from the Wu-Tang Clan, Raekwon. The big battle in terms of what America would WANT to have in GT4 is a hip-hop vs. electronica vs. rock Triple Threat. The best course of action would be PD coming up with about as much music as possible for the three popular genres of music. Because let's face it. In the game, I don't think an average person would want to listen to Toby Keith while racing. Average person might not want to hear people like Vanilla Ice, Keiko Matsui (a Japanese jazz pianist with inspirational and beautiful music), Sarah Brightman, Charlotte Church, the Trans-Siberian Orchestra, or anything like that. I say "account for everyone," and as long as a big majority of people dig a certain type of music, game teams will focus in on that.

So here's my question. GT4 will likely feature rock, hip-hop, and electronica (trance, techno, industrial, etc.). If GT4 included one other genre of music, what would you want it to be and who in that genre would you recommend?

Not to suck up to the XBOX, but XBOX owners have the ability to make their own soundtrack and pick their own music. So if GT4 and the PS2 were like their own computers, if you wanted to, you could have nothing but any kind of music you want. All hip-hop, no problem. All rock (such as Metallica, AC/DC, Led Zepplin, Jimi Hendrix, etc.) then no problem. If you ask me, if the PS2 and GT4 were THIS compatible, the notion of an actual soundtrack would mean pretty little. And I hear good things about the PS3, so when the first GT for that system comes out, we'll see how far GT gamers will get to go in terms of customization and all that.

But for now, an American soundtrack for GT4 is still to be decided with music we either like or dislike. That even means if PD wanted to give us "Toxic" or "My Perogative" both by Britney Spears, they'd put that in the game. If they wanted to put in old skool Ice Cube songs, they'd do that. If they wanted to put in craptacular crap from Disney, they'd put that in the game. So until we REALLY know what we're getting, your guess is as good as mine.

My GT4 sound track will just be the screaming sounds of my Mercedes Mclaren SLR's super charged V8. My music will be turned off like all my racing games.

:word: Does Michael Schumacher listen to music while he's racing? :P

Whether you like rock, rap, country, racing noises, nothing at all or whatever, i don't think it really matters.. Shouldn't the point of this thread be to find out what songs are going to be in the game? Whether you like them or not, or I like them or not, they're going to be in anyway... although i do admit i wasted some space on here mentioning I don't like SNoop
