Ok, so I took people's advice here and turned TCS off entirely and also turned off SRF. Only got ABS on 1. I almost golded the first section and golded the next 3 individual sections. Have yet to do the entire lap, though. Now, I don't know whether it's because I turned off TCS or whether it is more forgiving in the wet but I found it so much easier to earn gold.
Is this the case or does turning TCS off have a significant effect?

Yes, I also found it easier in the wet.

Its probably down to the target times for the trophies being slighly more forgiving though.

I golded both the wet full laps on my first try. It's much easier than the beginner and intermediate challenges for sure.

I found getting gold in all the AMG Special Events easy, so I decided to beat the the gold sector times by at least 2 seconds each, which was more of a challenge but still not too difficult. One of the wet sector times I beat by 5.95 seconds & the full lap I beat gold by about 17 seconds.

I'd say the wet times were easier to beat, but the car was a little harder to control.

:dopey:

I'm doing the expert AMG series now. How the heck is wet easy? This car is way too powerful, if I hit the gas at any strength, my back end swings out like i'm on butter. I tried turning off the aids as mentioned above, but that my car completely uncontrollable. Comfort softs for a powerful car on a wet track? pfft, gimme some dang rain tires.

Anyway, tips for the Expert part? Advanced wasn't too bad in the wet, but I need help controlling this car.

I must confess to using SRF On, no Traction, Stability On and of course ABS for the wet challenges, but was able to Silver all of them, much to my surprise.

I found it easier to Gold the Full lap challenges in the wet. Beat the expert full lap by 30 seconds if i remember right.

I feel like its easier because the car is weaker, the new SLS spins out too easily on dry land. Could you imagine if the made you do wet laps in the new SLS?!?

errrr.... they do. The Advanced Challenge Level 24 is Wet sectors then a full wet lap, all in the SLS.

I agree. The expert mode is a pita. I slid left and right. I was able to pass with all bronze using a controller. When I have time, I will give it a go with my wheel. But this car is very very hard to control. Seems as though the trick is little gas, drift, little gas, drift.

I found the wet ones easier too. Took a few attempts to get used to the SLS in the wet, but golded it pretty easy after that.
The last AMG gold I got was the full dry lap in the SLS. But with the WRS qualifier and my subsequent massive improvement in sectors 2 & 3, I would probably destroy the full lap time now.

Yes it was far easier to get golds in the rain. Got all of them on the first try in the rain. In the rain, I found braking early and trying to keep a steadier average speed did the job. You can't brake late, get the most speed out of straights as you can, and use other aggressive tactics like that. Steady is fast in the rain.

The trickiest in wet challenges that I found;was challenge 4,had silver the first couple of times, staying very close to gold.
But yes,I was shocked how easy they were.

I think the wet series were just too easy, while some dry ones were pretty hard, esp sector 2 with the 300SL..

In the SLS in the wet it'ds just throttle control. With the 300SL it's just throttling the hell out of it, and it's just easy..

With a big mistake I was 30 secs below gold...

The full lap with the 300sl (dry) is a lot easier to gold than the induvidual sections so don`t be afraid to try. If you managed to get gold on the others you`ll most likely gold it on one of your first runs. And if you got 3 golds you`re not far from golding the last sector. Good luck:tup:

And I`ve only played the 300sl parts of the AMG challenge (with ABS at 1 as the only aid) and the challenge in the wet is a lot easier than the one in dry conditions.
