hey wooooooooo hoooooooo i finaly wen to family video and picked up a copy of gt4 after my copy broke. someone give me a challenge!

major disc read error caused massive scratchs all around the disc. even though i buffed it and waxed it i still couldnt get it to work in my ps2 or a ps2 slim.

ok got a time with the amuse gt1 at Tsukuba circuit dry. 50.919. i was using r5 tires, full race suspension and a brake bias controller. stock hp and gearbox.

The Carbon R is a tuner masterpiece even without headlights, and the S2000 GT1 is a beautiful marriage of street car and race car. Which do I like more? I got more of a kick out of the S2000 GT1. First of all, I think the Honda S2000 is a great Japanese sports car. What "rice rocket?" To me, this S2000 GT1 (not to be insane) but should be up there with either JGTC or DTM race cars. The S2000 GT1 is the marriage of a mean street car and a dominating road racer. When you think of daily driver and weekend racer, Ferrari or something is what you think. The S2000 GT1 is NOT a Production Car, but for what it is, it is wicked. I got into it when I did the Slipstream Battle with the Power House Amuse S2000 GT1. The thing pushed 187 mph or so. The street car is pretty wicked enough with a 2.0 liter (especially the previous S2000 at 240hp. But as I keep reading, that's 120hp a liter.

I'm not really a Nissan fan. The Carbon R does sound pretty loud with some bad ass performance, but I never really gotten into it too much to make me want to sell my S2000 GT1. So, make my vote for the S2000 GT1, please. Thank you.

the production s2k with its 120hp/liter has the highest hp/liter of all street legal non-turbo production cars in the world.

The key to all of the carbon-R's success in my tests is Racing Tires...

With sport tires you can't get the traction for full engine use...

A racing tire equipped carbon-R could be the fastest "tuner" in the game.
What suggestions do you all have for comparisons under the "racing tire" circumstances?

First of all Kent, thanks for singing the Carbon R's praises. In my first experience, I was totally put off by this car's behavior. But after reading through this thread, I decided to pop on some race slicks and try it again. All I can say is WOW!

The race slicks make a huge difference. In my first race, I took it against the JGTC corps in the Japan GT championship series. It won easily. Now I am looking to refine the settings and look for more challenges in races that I can use the slicks.

I don't consider this a tuner car anymore...it's my new favorite race car!

No problem, I'm glad to have helped. 👍
The situation you went through is exactly why I went out of my way to test the "under-dog R."

The way you tested the R and initially didn't like it is exactly how things worked for me.
However, I had a hunch the racing tires would change everything and that's exactly what they did.

Anyway, thanks for giving me a little credit.
Thanks for giving my words a chance and actually testing it all out for yourself.

You would be amazed with how many people think they can answer questions like this without doing any real work in the game.

So hey, thanks for actually looking into the subject before posting. 👍

I don't have the S2000 GT1 yet. Can somebody please tell me if it is as good as it was in Gran Turismo 2? If it is, there will not be many cars that can match it.

Absolutely no problem at all. I have spent so much time making databases of all of the vehicles in the game that I am finally getting the chance to get out and drive/race all of them and find all of their characteristics. I thought that just by looking at their stats i could understand them all, but man have I misunderstood so many of them.

Now I am having fun with all of the unfortunate misunderstood garage cars. Heck, I even found out that the Land Rover is actually pretty good at rallying! :) You know, I might even have to change my sig now...

Your sig comment is nice. 👍
"just add slicks"

Also, you have a great point about trying to understand all the cars based on stats alone.
You just can't do it!
Look at the Speed 12.
You would think it's easily the best road car in the game... Not so! :sly:

With that in mind, it takes more than just a drive to test cars out.
You can't breeze through a test drive and expect to pick up on everything about your ride of choice.
Heck, I didn't even realize the GT-R concept LM had 7 gears until I went to the ring.

Point is, you're right on with your statements. 👍
Keep up the quality post.

Now regarding this...

Yes and no.
I wouldn't say it has the overall race car potential of the first incarnation.
However, it is easily one of the best "road cars."
The handling is amazing, the power is suprising for an S2000.

Everything about the car is great. :D

My only real problem with it is that I bought a white one for some reason... Should have bought a black one. :ouch:

the fastest s2k is the one in dealership s2000 gt1 turbo. theres also s2000 gt1 04" and my alll time favorite the s2000 amuse r1 titan in gt5. i chrome painted all of these cars and let me tell you the s2000 amuse r1 looks SICK with chrome!!! the hood mugen hardtop and trunk stays black!! the s2000 lm race car and spoon scuk!!! it only looks good in my collection.. you should make the s2000 amuse r1 into a 400hp racing car. get gt tuning specs for it.. or make it into a drift car. "Amuse S2000 R1 Titan" FTW
