Whats up with the police stoping Gronholm while he is trying to get his injured control arm back to service forcing him to retire? thats a bunch of crap! If I was Gronholm I would have kept on going on a "slow speed O.J. police chase"

Because, the rally drivers are driving on public roads between stages and going to stages, along with members of the public still driving on them. It's just too dangerous to drive with such a badly damgaed car. I mean he could barely steer. Plus it's breaking the law.

Rally cars have to be public-road-legal. You try getting a car with a broken control arm through a DMV/MOT test.

It is, however, a change of heart from a previous Rally GB, where the police gave Makinen an escort at 100mph back to service when he was minus a rear wheel. Still, losing a rear is less significant than losing a front.

I live near the areas where the Wales rally GB is held. I don't want to be driving down the motorway and have some idiot driving behind be with an un-road worthy car. They are driving on the road like everyone else, if i drove down the road with a wheel missing the police would give me a mighty ban and charge me for endangering others.

Good news though they have decided to keep the Wales rally GB going again next year
