on mine there was a brazilian driver, it must be coincidence but then in the junior championship there was a driver named F. Baumgartner.

That's Taiwan. Has something to do with some dispute over being recognized as a separate country.

China would very much like everyone to refer to Taiwan as Chinese Taipei, since they are clearly not independent despite the majority of the world recognizing them as so. If this TW really is standing for Taiwan (makes sense to me), chances are GT6 will be banned in China :p

It is for Taiwan that much is for sure, how the Chinese feel about it...not sure. I'm sure they ban a lot of stuff there for their own silly, communist, political reasons..

TW is Taiwan that, due to a historical dispute on international recognition as a country ( China claims that Taiwan is rightfully under them), has been subject to their name dropped in many mentions and I guess GT 6 included.

Not nice to LOL at it but I understand that you are ignorant of this. ...

History lesson time.

The government of the Republic of China (1912 - 1949) was involved in a civil war against Chinese communists led by Mao Zedong. The commies took over the mainland and renamed it the People's Republic of China, while the government of the Republic of China relocated (fled) to the island of Taiwan, and thus two Chinas exist. It's debatable, but Taiwan is not part of the People's Republic of China.

So why would they make Taiwan an option for a country if they don't believe it's a country enough to not include it's flag

Hard to say. Probably because the Japanese has warmer relationships with the Republic of China than the People's Republic of China. Like after the 2011 Tsunami, Taiwan donated more money than many other countries combined.
