I've heard a few of their tracks, and they sound interesting so I'm looking for more of their stuff to listen to.

I only know a couple of the songs, Autobahn is pretty good. I don't know they aren't to bad for 80's style techno...well I guess that's what it sounds like.

Ever seen GT Genome Project 1? That has a Kraftwerk song.

Actually, I have many Kraftwerk CDs (including a couple of greatest hits ones) and none of them feature that version (or any other) of Popcorn. On the other hand, I have a Jean Michel Jarre CD (I have the whole discography, mind you :D) and that exact version is a part of it.

Man, it's synth, not techno. ;)

Anyway, they've been at it since the early seventees, and that's when they did Autobahn.

I bought my dad their new live-album for christmas. Really sweet. Especialy the live version of "Man-Machine."

Supposedly, they've got a DVD out now. I just have to check it out. 👍

I suggest you guys check out "Radioactivity". Love that album.

Krafterk is a respectable group and i enjoy their music :) I guess my favourite songs from the band are "Trans Europa Express" and "Schaufensterpuppen". I also listen to a similar band called Kraftwelt, which is darker and slightly more modern than kraftwerk. I wonder if anyone here has heard about Kraftwelt

I heard Tour de France in Old Navy the other day and I was bopping along. I figured I'd embarrass my kids a little.

I don't have any Kraftwerk albums, but they're on my must-buy-someday list.

Yep. GTGP1 is Jean-Michel Jarre's Popcorn. I was angling for Kernkraft 400 - a Kraftwerk tribute - for GTGP2, but since daan had full editorial control (and I picked Popcorn for the first one) we got Joe Satriani. And the There-Is-No-Spoon Civic loved it. :D

Should get some Rush for the next Genome project :D

Kraftwerk are alright with their Fun fun on the Autobahn. I've always been more of a Tangerine Dream fan myself who are very similar to Kraftwerk in some aspects.

I got one of their records today for like 6 bucks.

Do you have a vinyl record collection like I do?:dopey: Nice find, I'll give you 10 bucks for it.:sly: 👍

As far as Kraftwerk, I have Trans-Europe Express, Computer World, and Tour De France on CD. I was thinking of getting the new Minimum-Maxium CD or DVD as they seem to be getting good reviews. I'll probably buy the DVD and rip the audio as long as the tracklisting is the same, that's what I usually do when I have the choice.

You better believe I have a vinyl collection which consist of a lot of stuff I got from my grandma. I'm talking Frank Sinatra records from a long time ago. But I have an array of stuff...nothing special just stuff I like. I don't bother keep the records sealed away but I play them all.

That's cool. Well, maybe aside from Frank Sinatra, but since they were your grandma's I can forgive you. (Tony Bennet is cooler anyway:dopey: )

I have about 200 some records that I've purchased over the years. I play them all too. Some used, some I bought new. My favorites that I bought new are Smashing Pumpkins - 'Mellon Collie' and 'Pieces Iscariot' with bonus 7", Tool - 'Aenima', NIN - 'Downward Spiral', and Deftones - 'White Pony', mostly because they are tough to get on vinyl. Some other neat stuff I got used are the entire Clash catalouge for $30 and pretty much all the old R.E.M. records from the IRS label. Of course I have all the usual suspects like Floyd, Zep, the Who, etc too but that just goes without saying.:sly: If you like Floyd's DSOTM you should check out the reissue on vinyl that came out a year or two ago. It's probably the quietest, highest quality slab I have, I'd have to recommend it.👍

Nice to know there are a few who still spin the black circle.:)
