Thx for the reply,

I will try those m6x16 tonight.

Whats bother me is that i was not able to screw the m6x12 in what so ever... maybe just one half thread but the other is impossible because its seem that the plate to screw in the wheel is little bit bend (symmetrically) it look 100% factory btw but anyway it is not completly flat... anyone can confirm that ?

Thx

I really don't know why they'd advise using 6x12 screws, to be honest. :/ But you're right, it's not completely flat, I had to be very careful, too. It was kind of a hassle and I got them into the chassis, so that it's completely flat. Yet, 6x16 would be better and definitely easier. I just couldn't be bothered to go back to the hardware store once more. :)

Also, I read some info about balanced/unbalanced audio signals. I'm not completely sure, but you may have some issues using that adapter monacor adapter. I might be wrong, though.

It works! How did you get on with yours...?

Seriously, is there no one in Canada with an rSeat??
Also, for those who have ordered their rSeat, how long was the wait in general??

Mine took 6 buisness days to arrive Montreal region.

Mr. S:

M6x16 was perfect ! Dont worry about breaking something in the wheel because the screw goes all the way in without inteference.

I have a question for rSeat owners with t500rs wheel...

Do you have some movement of the chassis when playing with the wheel (I mean the ''C'' part where the wheel bolt)?

The t500 can generate a lot a forces and is pretty heavy weight, on top of that, due to the adjustement brackets the overhang of the wheel is very present and can create a lot of movement of the ''C'' chassis part.

Anyone experience the same thing ? I get X and Z axis movement (When facing the wheel).

I like rigs stiff enough, and i think its the most important feature... im the only one who think that way ?

Everything on my rig is thight as it should btw...

Im thinking about drawing it in Solidworks to mod the center C section to help with the movement. I will see what i can do i have some ideas in mind without major modifications.

My last comment is about the t500rs wheel fixation hole... why only 2 screws...

To create the best Isostatic environnement you need at least 3 fixation holes... if not the back of the wheel will have the tendency to lift (Moment) around the two other fixation.

Anyway i just want to know what you guys think about the C section mouvement.

Thx all have fun with your new rig

*I hope my english wasnt that bad

Thanks for your feedback, guess it's time to "upgrade" my 6x12 now. :)

Let me be the first to try and answer some of your questions although you could just as well look up my previous posts in this thread of the past week or 14 days.

Let me first note that I used to have movement (slippage) of the pedal plate as well as of the wheel mount. I couldn't get it to be right enough and I even destroyed a screw on it, thank god not the thread in the rig.
To fix this issue I replaced all M8 bolts with the following.

8x30mm bolt with a big HW6 allen key head (so you have good grip with your ellen key)
8x24mm thick metal washer.
8x17mm plastic washer
M8 locknut

Like this:

So talking about the movement now. The mounting plates and so on are now rock solid. The only movement I have left now is the movement that is standard present in metal, thus it can't be removed. The wheel moves only about 50mm up and down when using force by pushing on top of the wheel rim. Even less when I tried to push it left and right at quarter to nine positions.
So all in all rock solid. The same goes for the pedal plate. Even though the weight of the pedals is an enormous strain on the screws, it doesn't move at all basically. I can barely see the reflection of light change on the foot rest when braking hard.

About the screws on the T500 RS... they suffice more then enough. I have no movement at all in how the wheel is mounted. The four rubber feet help it to stay where it is instead of moving around. And the two bolts in the middle righten the wheel down on the rubber feet on the mount. It's all solid to me.

So yeah... no complaints here anymore. Just had to use different bolts and so on. ;)

Ordered mine over the weekend & is shipped as of yesterday. USD to CAD was minimal, which was great, just wish shipping was a bit less.

Now counting the days for it to arrive at the Edmonton area.

LogiForce :
Thx for the information about the screws for the mounting plate and the pedal unit.
I hope u mean 5mm not 50mm 

The steering plate and bracket seem to be rock solid with the standard hardware but if i encounter movement in near future i will change them all.

The movement i feel really come from the C column by itself and not the bracket/plate or whatever.
I can clearly see movement from there.

When the unit sit on the floor without anybody, the back of the seat is raise a little(i Mean the base of the seat) maybe due to the heavy pedal in front (counterweight effect).

It feel Like the center spine make a little curve sry its hard to describe.

So when i sit in, the opposite occur the pedal unit seem to be raise and do not sit on the ground. The floor seem to be level so i will try to loose all knob from the centre spine sit in there and retight everything maybe it should do the trick.

Because i think the movement from the C column i have is due to the fact that the bottom of the pedal do not completly touch the ground when i sit in there same for the C section column.

Last night i drove the rig for some hours with a big smile because i really love this setup even if it move a little. In the action i forgot everything, it is so immersive...even the FFB give some feeling
to the frame and i really like it.
Do not hesitate to buy this rig guys because i think its the best one on the market for the price.
But everything can be improved.

I indeed meant 5mm or 0.5cm. Sorry for the typo.

All of my feet on the rig touch the ground on the rig. Although I have to say that there is a carpet underneath.
Since I am not too tall (1m69 or 5'6") I have my rig setup in a way that the C column goes all the way against the pedal plate and my chair is a foot length from the C column. The pedal plate is in its most upright position and my wheel in a bit further up and angled position then the lowest possible.
This for me doesn't give any issues where the seat comes off of the ground when I am not in it. Even when I remove the seat the center bar only sticks 1mm above the entry hole for it under the seat.
So maybe it is due to you pedal plate being in a different position and other issues.

I would make pictures of the C frame and ask rSeat if it is normal that you have movement in such a way. It doesn't sound normal.

I've just posted my review of the RS EVO V3 here. Thank you guys for sharing your own ideas to further secure the pedal plate. 👍
No problem. Also, if someone doesn't want to go the extra bolt route, then don't use the scratch protecting plastic washer. Just use the metal washer & it should be good.

I also did what GT Planet user "lopsided" suggested. I got a piece of good 2" high density foam, & got it custom cut to beef up the padding on the main seat. Only $10 & well worth it since I've got a bad back.

I've had mine for 1.5 months. I love it, no complains really. It's so well designed. Things like being able to add more foam in the cushions, butt kicker mount, very stable design, the level of build quality & awesome customer service. My T500RS is very happy 👍 It's made GT5 even better. :gtpflag:

I used a single bolt with plastic washer. And it works. ;)
8x30mm bolt then 8x24mm thick metal washer then plastic washer, screw into rSeat hole, tighten on the back with a locknut. Do this for all screws and it's tactile proof as well. ;)

Hmmm. I just ordered a GTR V2 from rSeatUSA and I'm wondering if I haven't made a mistake. While I'm working on losing weight, I'm still a size 36/37 waist. I'm wondering if I'll even fit in the seat. Any bigger folks have any experiences to help my anxiety here?

I'm a size 36 and still have plenty of room. However, if you're tall, your shoulders might be uncomfortable. :nervous:

After purchasing GT5 in November 10', a T500RS January 11', then running to Ikea to pick up the heaviest/cheapest desk I could find and pairing it with my lawn chair, while also finally purchasing a TH8RS two weeks ago, I've finally decided to pull the trigger on a sim set up. After discovering the Evo3 in this thread, I ordered the 100% genuine red pleather / black powder coat set up on February 3rd. Fedex should be delivering it today so I have an unboxing to look forward to as I begin my weekend. 👍👍

Thanks to GTPlanet and Inside Sim Racing for all the info and prodding me along to the dark side. :gtpflag:

Can anybody measure the seat width?? I have pretty much decided on purchasing an rSeat, but i have some concerns whether or not it would be comfortable for me. Any help is greatly appreciated.

You looking for interior hip width or multiple measurements?

Btw, The VR6 produces one of the greatest sounds ever. What do you drive?

Just interior hip width is fine. Thanks.

I drive a 2002 Jetta (Manual) and the sound it makes is to die for!

Just got the exact same color earlier this week. It's amazing how stable it is with the t500 mounted. Just need to find some high density foam for the padding, then it will be perfect. Enjoy the new rig, it's a day & night difference & I went from a playseat evo to the rSeat v3.

I figured, we've seen the unboxing and we all know what it looks like so no need to post more pics.

Basic review is...

The shipping box gets a 10. Packaged very well. Very tidy. Easy to open up and assemble basic pieces.

I recommend rSeat include a 1 to 1 hardware diagram including the number of each screw and bolt on the directions to match up the different sized screws much like Ikea directions. I also recommend some example pictures mounting Logitech, Fanatec and Thrustmaster units to the rig itself along with specific hardware used for each brand. It wasn't too difficult to figure out but would be a nice plus to a very nice product.

Another recommendation is to include a warning when mounting the T500RS pedals to the pedal plate. I believe this thread informs us of the very same issue I experienced. The wires inside the pedals rest right on top of the threaded housing hard mount. When you insert the screw into the bottom of the pedal plate and pedals, the resting wires may get pinched and damaged. When mounting your T500RS pedals, please be careful to move the internal wires over while tightening the mounting hardware.

Other than that, it was easy as pie to assemble and enjoy. Maybe some pics and additional info to follow at a later date. Cheers!

Oh and I almost forgot. Live Fr0m NY, thanks for the compliment on the R32. I regret it everyday since I sold that car. Current project is installing a VR in my 92 GTI. It's been done many times before but so be it. That is a winning combination for me. 👍👍

@mikochu I am a size 38 waist, but im a big guy in general. I've played TE/LB most of my life and 16" seat is definitely too small for me to be comfortable in it.

@Inline V Funny you should say that, i am actually looking for a clean MK2 right now. A friend of mine had a worked G60 he needed out of his garage, and i got it for a steal... Now i just need something to drop it into :sly:
