Any thoughts? The upgrade path seems fairly straight forward. Are the upgrades free forever or only for the first year?

Just curious..

Because vB3 is so radically different from vB2, it completely over-writes all of your templates. Therefore, instead of upgrading to vB3, and spending all of the time getting it to look like the rest of the site (only to then redesign it all over again), I've created a new design from scratch, taking my time to include and place all of vB3's new features in what I consider to be the best way. Upgrades are free as long as you are a valid license holder. See this page for more information on the different types of licenses.

So for $30, you can signup for a membership that gives you access to the members area for full upgrades and support. That sounds pretty reasonable!

I can totally understand the undertaking your up agianst with upgrading.

Thanks for the info:

I was just going to ask the same thing...

Another one of the forums I go to recently upgraded, yesterday actually, and they're still adjusting lots of stuff and tweaking, what's not.

It's deffinatly got some cool futures!

Well, you do have to pay $160 up front for the "Owned License", and then it's $30 per year to download upgrades. Even after that, though, it is an incredible price for such outstanding software.
