I just love driving cars like the yellowbird and zr1fully modded with sports soft tires on the ring. Doing a good lap feels so good!

Sports soft are what cars like that would be on anyway, maybe even sport medium. Since the update I use sports hard exclusively, except for super cars which I will maybe use SM. RM and touring cars get SS. The new GT500 (with 650HP!) is on Eagle F1's, which are basically SH.

Step one: get an R390 road car
Step two: do all mods INCLUDING the worst possible tires (comfort hard I think)
Step three: go to Autumn Ring FULL and have fun

I love driving the cars with the tyres they come. If they street cars, sports hard. If they are race cars, racing hard. When I mod street cars to GT/Touring car specs, I fit them racing hards. But I sometimes feel the need to fit SS or SM to some street supercars because SH is too ridiculous, like the Murcielagos or the Enzo.

I drive all my road cars with sports or comfort tires, usually sports soft or hard for the majority.

Not to burst your bubble but street cars come with comfort tires not S tires. To give a you quick example.

Honda Integra R Bridgestone Potenza (ultra high performance) (CM)*
Mazda RX-8 Bridgestone Potenza(ultra high performance) (CM)*
Honda Civic Type R Bridgestone Potenza RE070 (CS)^
Nissan Z34(370z) Bridgestone RE050 (max summer tire) (CS)*
BMW M3 coupe Michelin Pilot Sport PS2(max summer tire) (CS)^
Chevrolet Camaro SS '10 Pirelli PZero (max summer tire) (CS)^
Chevorlet ZR-1 Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 (max summer tire) (CS)^
Ferrari 458 Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 (max summer tire) (CS^)
Doge Viper ACR '08 Michelin Pilot Sport Cup (Track & Competition DOT Tires) (SH)^**

I run a hardcore league with friends and family we match real parts with GT5, tire selection is very serious in the league. Hope this helps you, don't be afraid of the CS tires after 2.0 they received more grip. 👍

Am I only one that doesn't think Comfort tires in GT5 are the equivalent to real tires that come in performance cars in real life?I can't fathom it..

Try a fully modded yellowbird:p Thats insane!

will do. seriously if you have an R390 the setup above with rear brakes at 10 and fronts at 0 = an epic drift car. you dont even have to try and you will break into the top 1000 or 2000 leader board

I don't know why, look at the description that PD gives with the tire. Then go to tire rack and read the of description of the tires. Sport tires In my opinion would be like this.

Bridgestone Potenza RE-11 (SH)
Dunlop Direzza Sport Z1 Star Spec 2 (SH)
Yokohama ADVAN Neova AD08 (SH)
Yokohama ADVAN Neova AD07 (SH)
Hankook Ventus R-S3 (SH)

Kumho Ecsta V710 (SH-SS)
Michelin Pilot Sport Cup (SH-SS)
Hankook Ventus Z214 (SH-SS)
Yokohama ADVAN A048 (SH-SS)
Michelin Pilot Sport Cup+ / N-Spec (SH-SS)

If you have the time you should drive your stock cars with CS, CM and if your really determine drive with no abs it makes the braking feel so much realistic and rewarding once you get it down. You will feel like you are playing another GT5. 👍

It may seem hard to believe, but I think it's accurate. If you'll recall in the Mercedes Benz/GT5 event held back in September, GT5 gamers were using comfort soft tires, and the times between the gamers and David Coulthard hotlapping around TGTT in a real SLS were very close.

The Audi R8 v10 tyres are closest to cm in the game, so u don't really doubt that road cars use comforts.

Hmm I would think they would be comfort soft the Pirelli PZero are great street tires.

This is how I do it:

120Hp to 220hp FF cars: Sports Medium

Less than 120hp (drivetrain doesn´t matter): Comfort soft

220hp and above on FF cars: Sports Soft

300hp and above on FR, AWD, RR, and MR: Sports Soft

300hp and less in FR, AWD, RR and MR: Sports Medium

Racing Cars: All Racing Soft

I´m seriously thinking of changing this to:

Comfort Softs for all cars below 300HP

Sports Medium for all cars above 300HP to 400HP+

Sports Soft for cars 500HP and above

Is that stock form, or is that how you just drive all your cars?

Wheels magazine did an article where they took a the r8 to laguna seca to compare lap times. They were told that cm were the closest to the real tyre, and the laptimes showed that the virtual lap was still a little faster.

This is how I drive my cars. They are pretty much stock except for a few tweeks like the magic oil, weight reduction # 1, and maybe other minor tunes.

O OK cool, yea I drive many of my cars stock with stock tires Comfort 95% of the time, unless its a tuned car like Mines GT-R. (SH SS)

I saw that it and read the whole article was very nice however I would like to know the complete setup. I want to know If he ran ABS on For some reason ABS in GT5 doesn't seem to work properly in GT5, ABS off with the correct brake balance really brings out the realism in GT5 in my opinion. I would like to know the settings of the car.

How did this turn into a topic about tires and realism? This is about 600+ HP cars using tires that aren't racing tires.
