Anyone else glad GT6 is on PS3 and not PS4?

I'm definitely pleased the PS3 is getting GT6. The PS4 looks, to me, to be a huge step backwards for Sony. The PS2 was primarily a games console and then they expanded that to an entertainment hub for the PS3, which was a great move. So far, from what I have read, many of the features that made the PS3 a great entertainment hub are missing from the PS4. I'm sure I will get a PS4 eventually but for now I am most happy to stick with what I have :)

Was gonna post pretty much the exact same thing, so...errr....THIS ↑

I'm glad it's on PS3. Every PlayStation so far has had two GTs, and both times the second has been much better than the first. History's in our favor.

I'm not going to buy a ps4 anytime soon, (expecially now that i see a lot of unimpressed people) so for me it was gt6 on ps3 or no gt6 at all.
I always thought that this next gen start was running a bit too fast, to be honest. I know people who got it and says something like "oh i don't have games for now" it's a freakin gaming console what the hell are you going to do with it then LOL

Yes I am, because as many people have already stated, that means I don't have to dish out another $400 right away. Wasn't planning on getting one until mid 2014 anyway.

Honestly I wouldn't have cared either way, although it wouldn't have kept with tradition of two GT games per Playstation platform if GT6 went to PS4.

Very glad.

I have no intention of buying a PS4 until it has at least four or five games i'm interested in (It's launch games are probably the worst bunch I have ever seen).

I'm also glad because as we all know these next gen consoles are kinda going through beta phase right now and there are a lot of faulty ones out there

Best Decision from Kaz to insist on releasing GT6 on PS3.

His technical staff probably didn't feel the improvements in GT6 could be effectively or properly be emphasized by the PS4... What i am trying to say that the improvement in GT6 would not justify the more powerful console...

If GT6 was on GT4, people would complain how half baked the game is... the quality of the graphics on the PS4 would reveal how innappropriate GT6 is... and how GT6 is not using all the capability of the PS4. It's like watching your favorite female news anchor on HD tv... you see the "standard" skin she has that you never realized before...

I am glad !

Kaz now will have more time to develop a KICK @$$ GT7 for the PS4, while we enjoy milking GT6 on PS3 ;)

Kaz saved PD on this one, and helped me save money... Sony might not be happy on the financial side, but they should be happy Kaz is also helping them avoid dealing with a much larger pool of unhappy customers... (imagine the outcry and people uprizing)..

Pleased to have GT6 on the PS3. Of course, we'll get people comparing Forza 5 to GT6, but then again... What bothers me about Forza is the cuts they likely took to turn it into a launch title. Something that probably could have happened with Gran Turismo if that were the case.

Besides, the 2nd game of each Playstation generation is always better than the first.

Very much so. I'm not planning to buy a PS4 (and if I will,it'll be at the end of it's lifespan pretty much when all the good games have come out and it's price has dropped considerably), so this was a very welcome suprise. ;)

"GT6 is a PS3 game and will not be playable on the PS4), the franchise will be coming to the new console at some point within “a year or two”, according to Kazunori Yamauchi."
Could be either.
Can you imagine the insanity here next year if GT7 is announced next summer for Christmas 2014 launch? It'll be an absolute madhouse here for months!!!

Or we might not really care too much as we are all engaged with PCARS at that time :dopey:

Why not both?👍👍 PCars will be a dramatically different game from GT7, hopefully the two of them together take care of all my sim racing needs:cheers:

I'm not glad per se, but I am relieved. The reason being that GT6 could easily have been less rich than GT5, as I expected the team to have to cut back in just about every area to fix the issues in GT5. But they went the other direction instead, even increasing the resolution! I'd rather have the potential of the PS4 to expand GT6 all out of reason, but we might have had to wait another year at least for it. And along with many of you, I was growing tired of GT5's weird quirks, such as needing a hunk of a car to grind to paint in order to paint another car, which meant a LOT of unnecessary car buying. It looks like a good deal of our quibbles in GT5 have been dealt with, so GT6 should be in most ways the Gran Turismo we were hoping for in the first place.

While I'd much rather enjoy the potential of a Gran Turismo on PS4, with all the features that could be realized and larger fields of cars, possibly much larger, GT6 will be more than just a pacifier. A great GT game in its own right which we can enjoy while we save up for PS4, whatever wheels will be made specifically for GT7, and that darn year of PSN Plus. :P

I like everything Quakebass, Chad Daddy and AudiMan2011 posted on the previous page, by the way, go read them again.

Yep, I'm pretty glad that it'll be out for PS3. Wouldn't have bought a PS4 just for GT6 considering what we've heard so far about its features.

I think a lot people still believe that a new console = a better game every time. Yes, the PS4 hardware wise has way more potential, but PD is known for their particularly long development cycles because they choose to keep everything in house. If GT6 was on PS4, it'd either be not too much different than what we're getting on PS3 (if at all) or delayed until Fall 2014. Then people will be like, "But Forza 5 came out at launch! Why can't PD blah blah blah blah?!"

How are people bad talking PS4 graphics . Have you seen the Assassins Creed? That has true dynamic weather, when you walk through fog, it blows with you. You'll never see that on the PS3, as I've seen the PS3 version too, huge difference.

Imagine that for GT, puddles that splash, tire smoke that moves when other cars drive through it.

I'm hugely disappointed by this.

I was sceptical about the PS4 at first but once I booted up, I didn't want to go back!

The PS3 fan-base is so huge, they simply could not ignore it.

When Kaz mentions a GT title in the next year or two, it could be a Prologue or it might actually be GT7 itself. It's often been said the PS3 was difficult to develop games for, and that the PS4 is much more friendly. So it wouldn't surprise me to see a GT7 relatively shortly (for PD's standards).

Yeah, feel the same way. Didn't buy a PS3 and 360 until February 2009, over 3 years after the 360 was launched. I probably won't wait until the end of the PS4's life cycle because that could be 2020 + but I'll certainly wait 2-3 years.

Meh... I don't care about console technicalities. I'm glad we'll have a new and kickbutt Gran Turismo title in a few weeks. I can start worrying about the PS4 once the games I want start being announced (a.k.a GT7).

I'm on the fence about this…

After seeing the graphics of the PS4 i'm slightly disappointed that GT6 isn't on a next gen system, and the fact it is being released after the PS4 means we will have to wait even longer for the first GT game on PS4 but…

on the other hand i never buy a new console at launch, just don't think it's worth the money and the risk of running into teething problems which all new consoles have!!

To sum up even tho PD could've waited for ps4 quality graphics we are about to get the game the GT5 was meant to be, it looks like PD learned a lot from GT5 from what i've seen especially online and the fact it has brands,Bathurst & silverstone is making me excited beyond belief!! Roll on the 6th ;)

gt6 is coming to ps3 i really glad for that!
but why talk about the ps4 ...
this is a joke?
