hey ppl, just wanted to know what others think about those 25 lap races? I have all but 3 or 4 cars, and its only these series with 25 lap races that are preventing me from completing my garage.

p.s. I'm new to this forum (even though i've been a GT junkie ever since its inception), and holy crap it is damn crowded here with a lot of elite racers. I look at those time trial records, and i can't believe my times are over a 1.4 seconds slower than the 1st place guys. Incredible!!!

Hell, I found the 5 lap races from GT2 taxing :)

better to have 25 laps then 100 ;) i don't like the slow car endurance races.

a 25 lap track is a good challenge in that it makes you think about the tactical side of racing. you have to think about tyre chioce, your pit strategy and winning the race. Do you choose a soft tyre to get extra control and pit regularly, or choose slicks to pit only a few times but risk losing it on over zealous cornering..

if all the tracks in the game were 25 lappers that would be excessive, but there arent that many so i like them...i am still trying to beat the formula gt series...:D

I love the endurance races. It's a great way to kill an hour or two. It also helps you become a better racer, that's if you use a car a lot slower than what the AIs are using.

The endurance races is where strategy comes in to play. Do you use a softer tire and race conservatively, pitting maybe once or twice, or use a harder tire and race like a madcap, never pitting once? Good stuff, Maynard! 👍

Yeah, I love the longer races. I just start to get in my groove in 5 laps, and if the race ends then, I'm still rarin' to go. I just ran the Spec Miata Enduro in the slowest Miata on Sports tires (trying to do what Der Alta did) and even though I came in 3rd it was a very pleasant hour and a quarter spent.

i was dreading the day i had to race the miata endurance, intill i actually ran it and it became one of my favorite races

after winning an enduro there is a sense of achievement...

funny really since its just a game and all...but i spose it comes from the amount of time spent honing your skills and driving the race..

There's nothing better than a close enduro. I ran the Tokyo R246 a couple weeks ago in a stock Calsonic Skyline with slicks, but I forgot to tune the car... I ended up winning by only about 16 seconds, and made for a very interesting 2 hours and 40 minutes.

Dude.... what if you lost the race? Wouldn't you be tearing your hair out? What if you lost by like 2, 3 seconds??

I can understand the need to have endurance races in the game because it makes you think twice about tire choices. However, considering the length of these endurance races, and the fact that you have to commit yourself to around 1.5-2 hours of racing, I always chose a car that was significantly faster than the computer. There is NO WAY i'm going to race for 2 hours on one track and come in 2nd.

I can understand how you guys derive pleasure from racing a good, close race (I do also), but the possibility of disappointment after spending 2 hours in an endurance race is far too costly imo. I'd much rather pick a 3-5 lap race with an hp disadvantage and risk losing there. Plus, I find the AI in some of the higher lap races quite dumb. In some of these races, the lead car will pit in with like 1 lap to go, or maybe even pit in on its last lap???

Anyhow, thats just me. Everyone's entitled to their opinion.

Good posts guys, thanks for the insight.

Any time with GT and the controller in my hands is well spent. The longer races just helps us be a bit more well-rounded. Even what people find as a boring race can still be enlightening. I've learned a lot on the Test Course, for example, even if I did fall asleep a number of times. That's all part of the GT challenge.

It's ALL good!

I love the longer races. Honestly in real life how many club, amatuer, professional races do you se that are 3-5 laps? 20 and above is a good race distance, even for a stock vitz "yaris"

Yeah, same. I thaught the Miata endurance would be boring as hell, but it turned out to be one of the funnest if not the funnest enduro!

25 lap races with tire wear is too much for me thats the reason i juss stopped at 19% of the game n juss used my friends gameshark to just get money den i just made drift cars

i was doing a 25 lap race, or something along those lines, at monaco, and i lost the race in the last 4 turns. i lost the race by about 10 sec or soemthing like that and i almost smashed all i had. now if i were to get 2nd on an endurance race, i'd patiently take out the memory card, and then proceed to smash the s**t out of my controller and PS2. they are cheap these days anyways, so it'd make me happy to do it.

i dont mind the enduros but they get a bit of a bore eventually.
I am sick of the super speedway enduro. i have done that stupid thing 9 times and won every car except the one that i want (Xr8 racecar) 3 ******** TIMES.

I don't know if any of you guys have this happen to you but sometimes when i'm doing an enduro or one of the longer series races I just zone out and punch out like 8 or 9 laps without realising. I'll be driving but not thinking about it, actually i just go blank.

I'll look at the lap counter and think 'Wow! how did that happen?' Funny thing is these laps are usually some of my fastest laps. :)

That happen's to me all the time, I think it's pretty good because the time fly's by quicker.:)

Well,I don't fell 25 laps excessive EXCEPT TEST COURSE.
I've a suggestion: if you feel it's excessive,try a championship.

Yeah i just zone iut sometimes too. It's strange and kinda scary sometimes because i dont have a clue how i got to the lap i was at. When I was doing a championship that was like 5 laps of trial maountain, I was so used to that track that i didnt realise what I was doing untill the end straight. Very scary.

Though I'm a rookie who plays GT, I really DON'T feel that I'm tired in an endurance race espcially Special Stage Route 11.

P.S.:I want to get F686/M or F687/s this Saturday! -v-

Shoot for the F686/m "best oval track F1" and do the polyphony digital cup series. You can win a F094/s "best road course F1 in GT3"

I enjoy the longer races for many of the same reasons above. To spend 10 minutes running a race, I know that I'm not anywhere near warmed up.

My recent most enjoyable race, was the Lotus Esprit V8 in the PD cup. No upgrades, and straight from the dealer. I ended up winning most all the races by less than a minute margin. Seattle (my curse) was less than a second. The average win over the 7 races I ran to sweep the series was 16+ seconds.

Couldn't have enjoyed a more fun race series.

You could always do the load reload trick to get the F094/s. Course if your wanting to have a 100% win streak then this will effect that. But thats only if you have enough points to win the series after skiping out of the last race.

I dont think Monaco was in the polyphony digital cup I know its in the FGT races, if you have a GT1 road car then its the eaisest car to use to breeze thru the PDC. Its a normal car series no modifications other than tires.

Well in real life the races usually last for a pretty long time so why have short races in a racing game? I like longer races more than short ones.

I was the one who came up with the OnLine Races; '100 laps of Complex String' and '225 laps of Special Stage Route 11' so what does that tell you?

The data of GT-one road car and race car looked nearly the same...What're the main differences between them?

P.S.:I've got a GT-one road car before.

wow.. can't believe so many of you guys/gals like the enduros. u ppl are truly hardcore.

on a different note, i've finally gotten all the prize cars, and there's nothing left for me to do.

i'm actually getting bored with GT3?? I can't believe it?!?!

can anyone offer me any suggestions to rekindle my passion for GT3 ????

I find that any race over 2 lap's is retarded. Unless of course I'm doing Free Run's.

20 to 30 laps is almost perfect. Anything less than 10 isn't worth running. Upwards of 50 becomes a bit much.
