As much as I love this game, I just found racing Roadsters for, let's see, the 5TH TIME, very unappealing. I'm sorry to those who appreciate the cute little roadsters, but there's PLENTY of other cars in the game that PD could've used. Look at how much fun the Civic Seasonals were. Now THAT was definitely a twist. So let's recap the use of the Roadster:
Two times in NR-A Roadster Cup, A-Spec and B-Spec
Two times in Roadster 4 Hour Endurance, A-Spec and B-Spec
One time in NR-A Roadster Cup Seasonals.

And the funny thing? They ALL used that god darn Tsukuba! Anyone else frustrated with the recent lack of creativity PD's had lately. Don't get me wrong, I am in no way shape or form insulting people or attempting to anger people. I'm sure I'm not the only one who's tired of PD recycling the damn Roadster races.

I thought they were fun, gave me a reason to drive a car that i usually never drive

See, the thing is, I like the Roadster, and if I had the chance to own one IRL, I'd be a proud owner...but PD is REALLY overusing this cool car. It's like if you ate at Subway for 1 month straight. The first couple of times, you'd like it, but after a while, it gets REAL sickening. THAT'S how I feel about these Roadster events.

I do agree with you there, your not the only one, but look at the positive of it, that it was a new event to do.

I haven't finished it yet. Only did one race. I'll get around to it eventually though. But PD needs to be a bit creative with the seasonals, that's for sure.

Maybe PD is being unimaginative and bland so that when there's a nice update with new things it seems even more special. ;)

I liked this seasonal! Gave me a good challenge!

There are other roadster in the game beside the Mazda, such as the Honda S2000 or the BMW Z4. They could have done a race for those.

I havent touched them yet. I usually do the seasonals straight away, but this seasonal is quite unappealing for me. Maybe i do them later. But i reckon they should of done one with the Honda S2000s, gotta love those cars.:dopey:

What do you like in those seasonals? Byt he way, is there a new seasonal up yet? Should be up in a minute.

I always do the seasonals straight away, evey time without fail, at least I did until these popped up. I think I have 2 left to do which I cba with if I'm honest. I will do them because I feel I have too, the car can only be mildly tuned to make it a competitive race and these cars need to be fully tuned to make them exciting/enjoyable, otherwise it feels like I'm in a car with my Granda, dull, boring, slow & clumsy.

So yea, I'm not a fan either.

German touring car seasonal + new OCD with German Touring Cars and Super GTs and others :D

I did sulk over the sameness of these until I actually got into them. Bought a fresh one from the premium garage and worked my way thru the series only tuning when I absolutely had to. And guess what? I enjoyed a great afternoon of racing. Thankfully I've got past the need to grind so I'm just racing for the fun of it and for the chance to redo races and formats with the wheel I bought when the game was almost finished (go figure..,)

I did the first race and said to myself ill come back to the others but just cant bring myself to, sooo boring

I had to fully tune my Miata to win a race. Shouldn't have done that, I could've challenged myself. I'm doing the DTC Seasonal at the moment. I'm thinking I'll come back to the little beast that is a Miata.

Not counting the several attempts it took me to get the tuning right for both Tsukuba and Autumn Ring Mini, I've done the events a few times each.

Every one of them has it's own quirkiness and pleasures. The cars too, though I've only really played around with three of the models, two of those were the premiums.

I will return to trying out the other MX-5s at some point, though the Super GT has a curious hold over me and I would like to try out the new ones too, despite the majority being standards (just can't do that anymore.)

True, a bit more originality with track choice would have been better - but hey, it's not compulsory to do these things. Stop for a moment, appreciate what we have and enjoy it, eh?

I not complete none of the seasonals, just race those who give most money/xp, in this case ferrari/le mans race.

Japanese people seem to like the idea of small cars with a huge amount of power...to be honest, i like the idea aswell, 800kg and 180kw (yes, here in europe we now have to start to get used to that kw thing...), but as someone said before: 1000 cars and just these little cars to race on a seasonal basis...sorry PD, but I woul've done it better...

I will never again in my whole life drive that godawful Tsukuba track. And especially not with the MX 5.

In general, I m just so bored with these totally unimaginative A-Spec recycling. I only did the one original race in the last seasonals already and I m not even motivated to throw in my GT5 disc for this. Maybe for the DTM but since those are all standard cars... sigh.

Some day GT5 stopped being fun for me and became only a thing you kinda have to complete because you feel you should based on... the love of old for GT4 maybe? :indiff:

Now this is what I'm not getting about the game...

This isn't aimed specifically at you FLX1981 but you did GT4 and presumably re-did a number of the races in A-spec (mostly because they paid out with a prize car that could be sold too.)

So here's GT5 with basically the same kind of races in A-spec (shorter ones in general) and then you have the seasonal events on top of that. It is essentially more of the same, with better graphics, physics and a huge car selection. So why are so many people upset about the seasonals? I'm beginning to doubt that they have actually played a GT title before this.

Just can't get excited about hustling these hairdressers cars around a track. 👎 Sorry. The Kei cars are much more fun.

@ MeanElf: Because stagnation is not a good thing. A race that wasnt too much fun when being 2-3 laps long is not suddenly gonna be fun because its 5 laps now and you get more credits for it. And there is so much other things to use, why the Roadsters again... and again... and again... (imagine sarcastic Clarkson voice)

Also time doesnt stand still just cause GT does. GT4 was ahead of the competition, by far. It was almost impeccable in design and fun factor. GT5 is not at all. I actually have a hard time having fun in GT5 anymore since I first played Shift 2. That game has massive problems too, but the constrast of creative thinking outside the box vs stagnant same old is mindblowing. GT5 feels (and looks and sounds) incredibly dated and almost lifeless in comparison.

Dont get me wrong: I think its great and highly respectable that PD still delivers so much for this game. I d just wish they would use this chance to be a bit more creative because the whole feeling of same old, same old is killing the game for me.

Never even opened it.

While I voted by not being bothered by it, I would have thought that using the seasonals would be a door to introduce "new" things versus a rendition of a rehashed idea.

*shrug* Only two month more to go....

Enjoyed this set of races. Previous mx5 races I just creamed with a high BHP car. This time I took one of my un modded cars out and started to race adding parts and tuning the suspension as I needed to to win the races.
This made for some really good close races.

But yes I guess they could have done this with one of the other car types. Rx7's, s2000's any of the smaller Japanese cars really.

But I just love that we are getting all these extra races free. It's made this game last a lot longer for me that it would have with out them.

Thank you PD, doing a great job.

Admittedly, the roadster event is over used. But, I recently purchased a DFGT and now relearning the game with this wheel. Using a DS3 is a boring affair with most of the races. Wheeling around Tsukuba has changed how the game works for me. It is more of a challenge and has become a primary testing track for other cars.
