I have been playing Gran Turismo since the original.

Anyone remember a S2000 that was white and had a race looking hard top. It looked like a race car with no stickers. I know it wasn't from the original but I can't recall what number GT it was from. It handled really well and was fun to drive. Anyone recall this car, anyone find a picture of it?

Sorry if this isn't the right place for this thread. I don't know what GT it is from so I can't put it in a specific GT forum. I tried posting under GT series, but they are not accepting new threads.

Thanks

I think that's it! Wow after playing gt5 for so long it's hard to watch that. I apparently remember the game looking a lot better than it really did. Man are the cars jerky, and that tire squeal eeesh.

I remember that car, had good power for a naturally aspirated machine. 👍

Looks badass too especially in black. But I prefer mine white.

Man, if only that car was in GT5... :(

Black?

Sorry for the bunch of images. :scared:

Eh, I'm not sure if it's been mentioned, but that car resembles this car from Amuse, in GT5.

A picture of the Amuse S2000 GT1:

The one in GT5 is a turbo version. :)

Except you missed the standard version that is from GT4. That isn't this specific version either.

This kicked off the trend though as a custom made S2k by PD (it's badged as Honda) and Amuse brought up the idea for reals.

Umm it is in gt5..

I miss that track!

Kind of. I really liked the more sloped hard top, and the ground effects. It had a better overall flow. From what I remember it was one of my favorite cars to drive! Not a ton of power, but enough, and really good handling, well balanced.

Thanks for refreshing my trip down memory lane!

Bummer it cost $1 mil, and that dude only had $247k

It does look like it but its just not the same. The GT2 one is naturally aspirated. :)

As C-ZETA, GT5's resident S2000 expert (:p), has said, the GT4 version is has N/A engine. Also note that I did say it resembled it, not was exactly the car in the picture.

The GT2 is much lighter then either of the Amuse cars, had fairly different aerodynamics, and it was naturally aspirated rather than turbocharged like those two are (with what seems to be the JGTC NSX engine, based on the stats):

Yeah man, I feel the same. The GT2 one looked way better IMO. Hey, I just started getting back to GT2 so I was still short on cash! :D However, making money in GT2 isn't that hard either. A TVR Speed 12 will rake in half a mil and can be won repeatedly. :sly:

I know there is the standard version as I also have it. Ahh, good to know that Amuse made it happen. :)
As I said above, there's also a N/A version, it's just a standard. You can win it, actually.
N/A but with a turbo option if I remembered correct. The one in GT2 was just naturally aspirated.

Yes, the expert is here! :D
I understand you said it resembled the car, I was just saying in general that it just isn't the same, as I really liked the one in GT2 better. :O
Not trying to create an argument or anything, just here to share. :)

I haven't checked the S2000 GT1 for a bit, but I think it's like the other high end Amuse S2000, it can't be modified.

I know you're not trying to cause an argument and neither am I, I'm just making sure you didn't misunderstand. Well, it's as close as it can get without hybriding the Opera S2000's weight and the GT1's engine as well as aero kit into a Spoon S2000 race car.

Man I wish they would release the old GT games on psn!! I would like to revisit these old games, but I am not going to re buy the old consoles that I used to own to play some old games. Too bad Sony couldn't have managed to make new systems that play old games. Well they probably could but then they couldn't sell brand new old systems when the new systems come out. Yes I know about the backwards compatible ps3 but it won't play ps1 games.

I thought those pics were just off the Internet I didn't realize you were actually playing the game, that's cool!

I am glad to see there are many others that liked this car as well.

Yes. PS1 compatibility is done entirely through software by the PS3, so it doesn't matter whether you own one of the ones that can play PS2 games or if you own a newer one.

The looks are nothing. You can only use the d-pad to turn lol.
I was still playing GT4 til my fat ps3 died.

There were steering wheels for GT2 (albeit neGcon-based ones), and you could play it with analog sticks as well.

WOW, 89 million? :dopey: How many hours invested, I dare not ask. :scared:

Not that long. 550,000 for 10 minutes of work, and the race itself (GT All Stars @ Red Rock Valley) is really fun.

(Or you could just use a Gameshark :p)

^^ I used to have an old Mad Catz wheel mounted to a real racing seat from a sports 2000 open cockpit race car. It was pretty pimp, especially at parties. Ahh my young and single days.

Funny, I tried selling my racing cockpit set up at a rummage sale for $25 sat there for 2 days. I took the seat off and posted it on a sports car racing forum and sold it for $200 and tossed the wheel in the trash.
