I do :) And it's true, it is better than Unleashed which i like it too.

I still have it. Although I enjoyed Unleashed, Shift 1 felt more finished and didn't have input lag.

I guess your not up to the challenge anymore ussr :) I see you got into the 519s now on FRL good time. I never play FRL now, just went on to see if i was still top.

It's just G27 is not compatible with Shift 1. I've been trying to find some decent setup like i had in Unleashed and in Ferrari Racing. But if i use my old settings from G25 wheel that i used three years ago it doesn't work perfectly.

Patch does not help. And i can't control the car like in Shift 2 and Ferrari Racing.

As for 5:19, well since i don't have Unleashed any more so only way to copy some close settings for Shift was to fire up good Ferrari game and compare them together. I did some minor tweaks and beat mine old lap. It turns out i had bad wheel settings for Ferrari game for a long time.

The problem with Shift 1 is also in difference between PRO and Normal driving style and final lap times. While there is no indication which setup was used by player, if you see someones full lap on youtube there is no way to tell if it is PRO or Normal driving style.

At least in Ferrari racing you can tell by the colored crown. Shame, because i had great memories from racing DBR9 on Nordschleife in on line lobbies. Against many Zonda's R which was equal ground and in order to win a race i had to drive perfectly, and against Lamborghini's LP640 which almost always it was lost race.

USSR, you can control the cars in Shift 2 with the G27 and it feels ok? I've tried and can't get into it at all. I want to like it. I keep going back and trying the game but I feel like there is too much steering lag or something like that...game feels horrible, like I'm sailing a boat and hope to catch a good wind and make the turn.

Do you have some settings I can try?

Yes i can. After patch 1.02 steering lag did not disappeared completely but it was huge improvement. But finding good settings was i think the crucial key to enjoy this game. 👍

Try to read this post in order to understand how to setup wheel for your own preference. I haven't meet other player who would benefit from my settings.

For example Steering Lock:_______* that i used was between 320 and 360, sometimes i lowered even below 300 and raised Speed sensitivity up to 15 and 20, depending from the car i drove. I did that to calm the car down and slower it's reactions. And i did exactly opposite to make the car even more aggressive. Especially Gumpert Apollo and Pagani Zonda R.

My G27 setting for Shift 2 is

FFB:_______________85%

Steering Dead Zone:________0%

Steering Sensitivity:________100%

Throttle Dead Zone:________ 0%

Throttle Sensitivity:________90%

Brake Dead Zone:__________0%

Brake Sensitivity:__________85%

Clutch Dead Zone:__________0%

Clutch Dead Zone:__________50%

Speed Sensitivity:__________15%

Steering Lock:_______360*

Strange my G27 if spot on with shift 1 as its the same as FRL, as for pro and normal just set a lap on normal as that would be the fastest lap. I will be waiting if you man up to the challenge :)

Weird, i can't setup mine like it is in Shift 2 and in Ferrari, works great with this two games, but while I'm driving car in Shift 1 feel that there is slight dead zone. And car is unpredictable.

I did few laps while i was trying to setup wheel correctly but my results are not satisfy you as i;m not happy with those, on PRO, best was 6:18.800 and Normal 6:13.560

I know i could do much better if i had total control over DBR, maybe i need to train more.

These 3 games completely unpredictable, I found that Shift 1 was the only one playable with a gamepad, Shift 2 you could tweak it to your liking and TDF is just unplayable no matter what.

I can't imagine playing those games with pad, if you use wheel instead of pad then game became huge fun. And you don't have any problems with controlling your cars.

You are lucky...you would be disgusted.

I haven't played Shift for more than 2 years. Dusted it off on the weekend and started redoing career again. I forgot how much fun it is. AI doing my head in as usual, but nice to beat them on hard. Best thing is there is no freezing doing Nordschleife

Yes Zee SHIFT is great fun second time around, even better on G27, the first time i was on a pad. After SHIFT, GT5, SHIFT2 and FRL blasting the DBR9 round nord on shift for me tops and i have done a lot of laps in many cars, great fun.

I was given shift as a present when it first came out. At the time I had been playing no racing games other than GT for years (Used to play driving games on the PC, but not since consoles came out)

It was so different to GT I played 4 events & quit. When shift 2 was released my GF bought it for me as a present, so I thought I better make the effort to play it. Of course by this time I was severely bored with the dullness of GT gameplay.

I finally got out of the GT5 mind set & really began to enjoy the more edgy handling of shift 2.

So last week I dusted off (literally) shift 1.

I am really enjoying it but I miss the live tuning options in shift 2
Also I hate the stars awarded for spinning opponents out.

I can't wait for project Cars to be released though!

I got Shift 1/2 together. I actually prefer Shift 2, but 1 is still really great. I love the vehicle choices on the game. Overall, both Shift games exceeded my expectations.

I was so disgusted with the G27 I sold it and went back to the pad. I could never get better than a 2:07 at SPA on Shift 1 with the G27. Practiced with the pad for 2 hours and I was back to high 2:04's and 2:05's. I miss the steering with the G27 but for some reason I'm a lot faster with the pad. I really hate being one of the few users who didn't get faster with the G27 :indiff:

Long time Ricky long time, hows things mate?

Your not the only one who found that mate, had a few on my list who did the same thing. May be you need handle bars instead of a wheel :)

If your back on mate add me.

I'm getting back into it, always loved this game when it first came out, I find GT5 a very serious game, but shift is a fine balance between a sim and a good laugh, that's what I love about it!

I'm still playing Shift 1 and 2, plus Forza 4, but not so much online now. My Shift2 cars are tuned just the way I want them. I'm still using my original Microsoft wireless wheel, but my upchange paddle is ****ed. :(
