hopefully gan san was speaking from his heart about how realistic the game was. :) we should find out soon. 👍

I got my copy today and hate to say it but I am very underwhelmed. There were rumors that the physics would get dumbed down and it seems to be true with this demo. Its very hard to lose control. I took a 7B7 out redlined it, dropped the clutch and there was NO wheel spin. Took it up to 190mph and swung it from side to side and it stuck to the pavement like it was on rails. The TFF DFP support is just above GT4 but the physics are hardly noticibly different if not more dull than GT4. If you were like me and hoping that Enthusia would deliver a much more realistic experience you might be in for a sore letdown if this demo is good representation of what we have to look forward to in May. :indiff:

Is the OPM magazine on sale in the US or is it jusy in Europe cuz I went to look for it but couldnt find it.
Same here. I'm gonna check again on Thursday. I really hate that Area 51 cover today because I'm sick of seeing it.

Was there a full GT4 review in the OPM April magazine? Anything else good in the demo disk?

OK I take back everything I said, Enthusia is great, the physics are great. GT4 sianara.

Care to elaborate? I am interested to see if this game is as good as or better than GT4 but I couldn't tell if you were joking or you actually do like it better.

nervous breakdown?

a job offer from konami?

couldn't get pass the first license test in GT4?

managed to spin the 787B after all?

Come on, Gek54, tell us what happened to make you write that, after what you wrote in your previous post!

I realized that when a car like the 787B is going 180+MPH its arrodynamics are going to keep it pretty stable. It was when I was going 60mph that I could break the car lose with ease.

The DFP support is really what is growing on me. The feeling of the tires is MUCH better than in GT4 and the self centering effect is much more realistic. All wheel drifting the Golf R32 is no where near this much fun in GT4.

Graphics are sub GT4 but good non the less. Its the physics that are a step above. Oh and the AI is a little smarter than GT4, there is still some collision if you force the AI to think too fast but if you are slowing down or taking a corner weird the AI will slow and alter its path around you. The music was terrible, that ear peircing J-pop guitar riff crap. Hopefully the US version will get more appropriate tunes or at least the option to turn them off during driving. Menu music is nice.

I am having a hard time going back to my recently purchased GT4 :guilty:

wow. I will have to wait for the full version to come out (I don't want to spend all my time playing the enthusia demo instead of GT4 - that's a waste of $50). Good to hear that review from a non-biased source. I'll be looking foreward to Enthusia :)

I think he was sincere, because he was criticizing parts of the beta he was playing, like the shifting he said wasnt quite right yet, and things like that. 👍

He said its the most realistic he's tried sofar. They didnt say anything about gt4 though..

yeah, he did, but not openly.

He said something about "this other popular racing game" that didn't get the engine sounds right.

So gek, how are the tire physics? Can you let em rip and unleash glorious smokies or is it just a little chirp and you're off like in GT4?

Only cars that dont have TCS are the le mans class cars and you cant spin the tires by just smashing the gas. I have to get it sidways. I noticed the Toyota GT-One's rear left tire was wobbly. ????

Hey Gek, what demo are you playing?! Or do you have the full version? I got the demo yesterday: No 787B or GT-One. What's the deal?

It's the OPM demo, and both those cars ARE there.

However, each track has it's own selection of cars that you can race ONLY on that track. The LM cars are available only on the speedway track.

What a difference a controller makes! I was not that impressed with this demo using the DS, but today I tried with the DFP and had a lot more fun. The feedback of the wheel returning itself to center is very nice. I would still rank GT4 better in terms of driving feel but this demo is not far off, and is disadvantaged by having the driving aids on. Can't wait to make a real comparison with the aids off in the final version. This is already better than GT3, which is very impressive. Definitely will buy this one.

What demo have you been playing?! I'm pulling smoke shows left and right with the LM cars!!! I layed down quite a bit of rubber from multiple donuts and then went around the track in reverse for a bit and the tire marks were still there. Also on the other dry track, if you pull off a good hand brake to get the car swerving, you'll get tire marks once again, and the motion of the suspension on the cars when using the hand brake is  On another note, I removed the dark border and the VGS because I find it really isn't necessary. The blur effect on the edges takes some time to get used to... at first I really wasn't impressed, but after playing it a little more, it kinda grew on me. And aside from not being able to modify control settings ( I use DS2 with D-pad left/right for steering, X for gas, and Square for braking normally ), I find this demo to be rather impressive. It's more than I expected after having read some of the other comments. This game I will definately be adding to my PS2 game library when the time comes.

Oh yes... my only real problem up to now with this demo is that music! It sucks! It's the kind of music you would hear in a game like FZero for N64. Drowns out all the tire and engine noises as well. The engine noises seem to be done rather well though from what I was able to hear. I enjoyed the deep tone of the R32 and the really high pitched sound of the 787B.

dam the world to hell. I cant find the dam magazine any where went to wal-mart , the to Ebgames, and gamestop. no one has it.

Sometimes Local Blockbusters have em, I looked everywhere as well and got my hands on a copy from Blockbuster. (should be in the video game section)
