W16 QUAD TURBO
btw: we call it skidding not drifting (altough drifting sounds faster)
I heard someone else say it was called 'car spinning', which is a pretty obvious discription. I'll take your word over theirs though.
Crazy illigality aside, they are pretty skilled.
I think there are three videos like this
1) This one, I assume. Not downloading it because I think I already have it. It plays some bouncy dance techno and says 'BOBO' in the lower right corner, yes?
2) One with a black car, no music aside from the spectators car radios and no text aside from something I can't read at the beginning. All shot on one empty road out in the desert. I think this guy is a better driver then the one in the other video.
3) The 'blooper' reel. All of people trying stunts like this and failing. I don't think anybody dies. It starts and ends with a little bit of the trickling code animation from 'The Matrix'. I think it's also on this site somewhere.
I've been debating going into the GT4 drifting section and asking if they have any suspention settings for stunts like this, but it seems they're all just doing it in stock cars with skinny spare tires on. I can't figure out how to whip into a 220 degree slide, hold it for a second, and recover like the guy in the second video though (all while going in a straight line). Crazy skill.
