I was wondering why not many people from here are posting times in Time Trial.

Maybe because we can click on rankings and check our times ingame.

From what I can tell the rankings doesn't show your race lap times for online races, it only shows times for online time trials, or arcade time trials.

Yeah but why would we want to record online race lap times anyway? Considering there is a catchup mode that ruins the times.

Your laptime depends on how close to the front of the pack you are (assuming you are doing consistant good laps).

I think Pegasusrjf is trying to say he doesn't see much discussion regarding Time Trial records. ?

I could be wrong though.

so what if you can use online ranking.. we should still post our times here :)
its great way to race with our friends here

and the reason i dont post my time is that i dont have GT5P yet .. one more week to wait :)

You are correct Sphinx. Thanks for the clarification to everyone.

Now back to the subject at hand.

You're right, there hasn't been much discussion on time trials and associated rankings. I had posted this challenge for the forum denizens about a week ago, but there wasn't much of a repsonse. And, the 51.xxx lap still doesn't exist on pro physics @ Suzuka East!

Suzuka East is my favorite track to take cars out for a quick spin, and the laps are quick. I'm currently sitting in 2nd overall for N tires, 1st for S, and 4th for R (only one legit time ahead of me in R... the top two are shortcutters). Pro physics and no assists with the G25 wheel.

When you select "Rankings" from the main menu, you're presented with a screen that allows all kinds of sorting... car, track, tires, and physics mode. The first option in the car listing is an "all cars" selection, thus giving you the ability to see the fastest time on a given track.

If you go to the "rankings" icon when in arcade time-trial mode, you can download a ghost of one of the top ten times to race against.

The only thing I'd like to see added is an option to sort by classes as well. Other than that, I think they've done a pretty good job with the rankings page.

As for cheaters (Suzuka shortcut especially) still being listed, I'm sure they'll be deleted once an update is put in place to penalize this garbage.

Pretty good ranking there that you have. I have avoided Suzuka and Fuji due to the amount of shortcutting that is available. I have a hard time ignoring the times I see posted when I know I can't get anywhere near them with what they are doing.

I have also (at least for now) mostly avoided Eiger and London (just too short, more for drifting than pure race line racing).

I had a quick session at unimental's challenge very late last night. It's however, going to take more than a just quckie to get close to your time unimental, at least for me anyway. Good driving mate. 👍

I think I got into 12th place overall. Will try again later. 👍 👍

Im first with the evo IX S3 on the fuji speedway F.

Couldn't agree more, even though they're great tracks, it puts me off doing TTs on them due to all the shortcutters. I've stuck with London on sports tyres to take them for a spin (you should be able to find me:sly:) A short track but very addictive:sly: It's good coz if you stuff up a lap, then it's never long before you start the next one:idea:

well back to the subject than...:i did a few attempts to get a quick time here and there, but i stopped doing than after i downloaded a few of the top ghostreplays!!!!on suzuka they are all false beceause of cuttung of the grass between 1st and 2nd corner!!...and there are more things like that...will look for tracks where there are no cheaters and see if i can find the time to do a few serious laps...hope pd will solve this thing shortly and that on this site members will post there top laptimes.:)

oh thanks for explanation. and yeh class would always have been nice... but im pleased that TIRES have separated rankings :)
i wonder what can i do with crappiest tires on a Ferrari haha

n1 tires on the f430 and than do a speed lap on suzuka!!!oooeeeeffffff...thats like driving on ice!!...lol

I hope to see more people trying daytona road, which is where I've been spending more arcade time trial time - just love that track!
I have (had - last time I checked) a few top ten times with N and S tires simulation mode with different class cars but I'm sure it's just cause not that many people are visiting this track: a lot of times I see room for a lot of improvement - even run one second or more ahead of my best time - but them loose my advantage in the final chicane...(still managing, to my surprise, to post a top ten record time!!!)
btw, my psn is RuiGT

RUI

haha i bet if you can master that.. you will be better with racing slicks

I think the only tracks that aren't 'short-cuttable' are london forwards/reverse, Eiger nordwand forward/reverse and daytona road course.

On daytona speedway when people would have to slow down to not brush the wall, you might see people slamming into the wall and not getting pens:tdown: needs fixing

Well, just give the fair racers "hopefully most here included" a good idea of how to get back at the cheaters, take a look at the following:

Daytona Road Course - R3 Tires - Simulation - CopenGT (the car under the OFC-1 '07 on the list).

Watch the 2nd place time by none other than CopenGT, then watch the current 1st place time (as of this writing) by none other than myself (the fair guy).

This should help people to understand that cheating doesn't always work on all tracks. Here we are in the slowest car in the game and they still can't win.

maybe there will be an option to see replays... and there will be a REPORT button.. for the guys that cheated.. their top places would be taken off

There are replays to watch. Go to rankings, choose car, track, mode, and tires to see times. Click on name and choose left most option to watch replay.

oh i know that there are replays...

lol what i meant is that whenever you watch a replay, and you see a cheater there should be a report button to press.. and lets say this guy gets 20 reports they take his name off the top list , something like that

I'm going to start seriously focusing on earning the title "The Beast of Suzuka East", beginning with S-class rides. :) I've got legit top times on R and S tires with a few cars at this point, and am close on a few others. I probably won't dip in to the lower class cars since there's so few posted "pro physics" laps.

I'm such a complete geek for hot-lapping, LOL!

Haven't looked at this yet but it mustav taken you ages to get round:lol: It's great to know you can rub it in their faces when they cheat and you don't:tup:

It is a 2'29.9xx lap time.

Do forgive me but could somebody remind me how you access the Arcade Online Time Trials :dopey:
I go into Arcade Mode, choose a track and then it takes me into Race Mode.
Cheers,
nige

Don't choose the flag, choose the next choice to the right (looks almost like a watch).

Yeh thanks. That is the settings menu. Once you click OK it takes you to the Online Time Trials. It almost feels like a secret find. Why didn't PD put in a separate Race Mode and Time Trial icon?
