With the wide streets and long straights, this was the perfect combo to eek a little more power out of one of these beasts. I found it very manageable and a good time. I hope you all like it too. 👍

OK then, finally got these up, sorry for the delay, had some technical issues.

Congrats to jmgyro, stidriver and Jump_Ace for once again capturing the podium places. 👍 Convincing win for jmgyro.

I also have series to date results, and they have the same guys on the podium.

Thanks to everyone for giving this one a go. 👍 👍 👍 The car is tough to make fit, glad to have that one behind us.

It's shorter. So the laps will still be longer than a New York minute, but it seemed like an appropriate name for our circumstances of trying to shorten time.

Had to use 3rd gear for first turn since it had so much wheelspin, and I didn't drive over the curb for it.

First splits - not enjoying this combo too much. I hate the walls and the walls hate me. So I might not have another serious go at it.

The first corner is critical and very picky. I'm braking just after that zebra crossing, which takes me near the outside of the track between the apexes, down to 43 or so mph, then flooring it out while avoiding the rumbles. I too can see a 54.0 but probably won't get it, and .75 more on the total lap time because I had a crappy finish. Oh well. By the way, I don't really have a strategy for the curbs, I'm just hitting them intermittently and don't know whether it's better to use them or avoid them. Also, I'm staying in third gear or above, like last week, on 320 gears.

Hm... If you don't have an "uber-save", this car is a tricky one to get (won from Gran Turismo World Championship). Do you happen to have a 750+ HP race car in your garage? If so, you can probably win the GTWC with it. Otherwise... do the El Capitan 200, win the Minolta Toyota, and race that in GTWC to win the GT LM Spec-II.

Also, if you could complete Missions 30 - 34 to win the Nissan R89C, which I'm sure someone capable of getting 80 Gold licences isn't going to find too difficult, that would also suffice for a pretty easy ride through GTWC.
Alternatively, if you can run a few more special conditions and Manufacturer events to boost your completion percentage to 50% you'll acquire the Jaguar XJ-R9 which'll also massacre this series in the hands of a competent driver.
If you're still struggling by the end of the week, let me know, I'll probably be working in South San Francisco on Friday, and could conceivably trade you this car off my mem-card. 👍

It's surprising the difference a small change in line can make. My first laps I could not believe I was 1.5 seconds behind the pace at T1 since it's only one turn - but a little change and I've been into the 23.8's.

I was more consistent there last night. My posted splits are from my hot lap, which had my best LAST sector. I was also seeing high 23's at T1. The early apex line that Ron shows in the video seemed to work well for me. I'm undecided about the curb, but this car, in general, does not like them. The suspension is MUCH stiffer than the '69 GT40.

The other thing I noticed, and I also recall from the mission at Laguna Seca in this car. Understeer is present under braking, so if you make sure to get the braking done before turning in on most corners, you can get better exit speed and pick up lots of time. Just an observation from the guy who's next to last on the board.

Glad to see so many racers in here again, already.

Bah, you guys have got me this time. I really don't see myself improving more than 1 or 2 tenths from this:

Picked up .16 at the line- not great but not terrible.

I'd say the curbs are generally better avoided (except for a couple of the larger flat ones), but as long as you control wheelspin, it's okay if you hit one or two. The best way for around the roundabout seems to be "throttle blipping", but I'm not sure of that. Anyone else know something better?
