I could of sworn madmax posted that he had 23.4 instead of 24.4 so I shot for that and got it, lol. Nearly choked it away at 2 spots, but saved it. 👍

To be honest I was about to edit to my 2nd post that I did
hit a T1 of 23.3 with 330 gearing. :D

Nice improvemets there on your splits 👍

I tried out you 320. So these are my new splits, with about 0.8 improvement at the line -

24.234 :ouch:

Have see some 23.7's at T1, but can't find the braking point with the extra speed. :dopey: Had one lap with a 55.7XX and slid into the wall in the circle. Also had a 55.8XX with a slow finish. :ouch:

This is a little like the warmup race, I never realized how hard you could push it during testing. :crazy:
 
OMG, I have my moments.....I could only get a 24.4 and a 57.0 last night but as it turns out I forgot to change the tires to soft :dunce: lol. I'll be back on this one tonight.

Did you remember to add 15% to the power? :dopey:

I think you"ll find most of the difference between hard and soft is stopping distance. That, and the car is harder to spin when getting back on the throttle. Notice I said harder to spin. I can still spin it on softs, especially if I get the wrong curb involved. :crazy:
 
Yea, I had it at +15% and -10%, I just forgot to change the tires. I kept braking the tires on the exit of almost every turn. Now the combo should be more enjoyable :)

Just been crossing a few more cars off my "To Buy/Drive" list, and have just purchased the Dodge Oreca Viper so I'm ready for the next race! 👍
It's a wonderful beastie, as KLR142 suggested in the signup thread, and I think it's got a 200 A-spec point attempt at Infineon World Sports Car Race written all over it, so I can recoup most of the money I spent buying it!

Will be having another crack at the NY race when I'm done with that, and I'll see if I can move my personal space a little further down the street! :p
 
Wow, had to spend quite a while checking this replay. I sure hope I get a faster time later this week, because this one is disturbingly close to dirty. And yet, I cannot locate a wall touch either in photomode or in the analyzer (assuming 0.3 mph lost in a frame, and a speed gain in the next, isn't a touch, even with no shift or rumble strip), even though the car looks as though it grazes the wall in the last turn before T2. The splits are almost identical, but the finish is .4 faster than before. :scared:

I would call a 0.3 drop a touch. If it goes 0.3, 0.2, 0.1, 0.0, probably not.

But if it goes from 0.3 straight to 0.0, probably a touch. Since you are not official, not all that relevant. Just my 2 cents, from having 2 close calls that turned out too close in the past. I'm VERY careful now.

Really need to work on the second sector - I keep missing braking points; and the fiddly part by Bergdorf and The Plaza requires a lot more patience than I seem to have :ouch:

Know what you mean in that area, I've found some lift and drift is effective, if you can avoid the high curbs. Hit a high curb in a drift and you WILL spin.

0.061 separating the 4 of us in the 55.8XX T2's. :scared:

I looked at the leaderboard and was couldn't believe I was second to last (thank god the other old coot is currently slower than me ;)) but after seeing your comment I realized just a quarter second faster gets me to third place - I'm surprised the times are so close.

PS to Ron - my son's new in-laws asked my wife and me what we want the grandkids to call us (whenever they may arrive) - I'm not sure I'm ready for this :crazy:
 
Finally started hitting at least some of my braking and turn-in points

Took the gearing down to 320 (hitting the rev limiter at 310) - doesn't seem to help, but doesn't seem to hurt either compared to 330.
 
Firing up the PS2 for the first time since I retrieved my Camaro replay... seems my priorities are way out of whack ;)

Just a quick session to get a feel for the car using 340 gearing. Took the series of turns before T2 way too slow just to make sure I got a clean lap in.

I spent about 45 min on the combo with the RIGHT tires this time:

Top Speed - 320 (only one I tried as I thought it would fit the car and it did pretty well)
T1 - :23.598
T2 - :54.830

I can see a 54.5 in the future, but its Oktoberfest in Mt. Angel so....I'm busy 👍

Have seen a 55.370, but promptly got caught out by the piece of barrier that suddenly jumps out at you on the left! :grumpy:

Just in case anyone want something fun to do with the Dodge Viper GTS-R Team Oreca '00 after we've used it in the ARCAT race, this is what I got done with it last night....:D

I was able to improve my T2 time about .5 seconds
from last splits

using 320 gearing

current splits:

T2 55.089 (004)
 
Race time was limited over the weekend, so I may not finish as well as I'd like to here. Planning to give this one more run, AND post next week's race tonight. 👍 Still more than 36 hours until the deadline.
