So I tried this manufacturers race three times, the last three slots. The Supra Group 4 is no match for the almighty 4x4 cars, but it was very good nonetheless.

The first race I qualified P6 with a 1:58.2 - that was the max I could have hoped for time-wise.
In the race I got up to P3 and actually passed for P2 in the last lap, but a tiny mishap on a corner got me a 0.5 sec penalty so down to P3 again. Got 261 points, which was a bit disappointing for that result. Looks like I lost some DR in the past races.
Given that yesterday got me 285 points and only one result counts for the test "season", I went again.

Second race qualified P10 with a 1:58.7 - not ideal. No big changes until the end and finished in P7 for a very disappointing 211 points.

So I tried one more time in the final slot.
Qualifying was identical, 1:58.7 and P10.
I got past a Lancer fast and was then on P9 for some time. Someone pitted early so I then was in P8 most of the time, even after my pitstop in lap 6 I remained there, almost until the end of the race. In lap 9 I got past a WRX so up to P7, but he hung on to me. He tried to pass me back on the backstraight and almost wiped both of us out (sigh) and then tried another divebomb into the last chicane. I stayed in front at first, but it would have been a close run to the line with the better traction of the WRX. However, our duel caused me so not save as much fuel as I wanted to, and I ran out just a few meters before the line, but it was enough that he got past....

218 points in the end, not great. But with the BoP the way it is with the group 4 cars, anything more would've been a surprise. Also the Supra required some amount of fuel saving and/or refueling to get to the end, I'm sure the WRX etc. did not have that issue.

At least my race times were consistent. The first race I did in 24:37, the second in 24:39 and the third in 24:38.

Idiot Me returns once again...

Slot 1: I drive like an utter moron in qualifying and can only manage P14 out of 15. I had some company with @Geauxgreddy at the back of the pack. For the first time we managed to start near each other; too bad it was the wrong end of the grid 🤣 . Race went better and I finished P12.

Slot 2: Managed to not drive like a total idiot and set a lap only 0.1s off of my best FP time. Still was only good for 11th. Not to worry though, because my good driving definitely didn't last long. Like a complete 🤬 :dunce: I messed up T1 on cold tires and took out the car that started behind me (though I'm sure @Geauxgreddy appreciated the 2 "Greddy Passes" he got 🤣 ). I waited for the victim of my astonishingly poor driving to catch back up and pass me, and by the time I did that I was waaaay off the back of the pack with no hope of finishing better than maybe 15th. After that I couldn't be bothered to focus on actually driving so I messed around aimlessly until I got lapped twice.

Let's see if I can avoid being a complete moron long enough to get through qualifying AND the race...not that it matters, because I'll probably be stuck at the back of Top Split for the rest of the night...

Edit:

Slot 3: Not Top Split miraculously, and I managed to qualify 7th. I was stuck in a pack that was slowing me down so I attempted an undercut by pitting on Lap 5. I then proceeded to crash completely by myself on my outlap by taking too much speed out of the corner that leads onto the back straight, bouncing off the wall, then spinning. Of course I finished last. Was looking at a Top 5 before I Colton Herta'd myself, AGAIN...

I guess I'll stay up all night and finish last in Top Split these final 2 slots, because at least it'll be worth more than my current points...
At least then my completely 🤬 driving won't affect my result, because I'll be last or near last no matter how quick I am in Top Split.

Edit 2:

Slot 4: This time my prediction was correct and I was indeed in Top Split. Someone with a black screen decided to be a jerk and make us wait 20 minutes before he left and the warmup finally started. This meant that this race wouldn't end until after the final slot started, so I had to make this count as it would be my final attempt of the night. As expected, I qualified horribly in spite of setting a decent lap, and started 10th of 12. Not much happened in the race, and I finally managed to not drive like an idiot (miraculously). Both @OutlawQuadrnt directly in front of me, and a BMW directly behind me pitted on Lap 4, so I pitted the next lap to try my best to avoid an undercut. It turns out they didn't take tires at all so they both emerged a further 4s up the road when I rejoined. The BMW originally behind me eventually crashed at the exit of the chicane and quit, but @OutlawQuadrnt kept enough pace to prevent me from really catching up to him even though I was slightly quicker with my fresher tires. In the end, as expected, I finished almost last (9th of 10 cars running at the end). Still it was worth 222 points, so not a bad final score. I should've been done much earlier though...

GT2, slot 2, pole, fastest lap and the win.

Pitted on lap 3, splash of fuel and swapped from the RH to the RM. The field was competitive and the strategy paid off for sure taking the win with a bit over 8’s from P2.

I was surprised at the points haul of only 89 though.

GT 2, EU, SLOT 1, full B/S lobby.

As I wrote yesterday I don't like Trial Mountain so much, therefore I was expecting nothing.

Got on the track 4th in quali, so I though I could take advantage from some slipstream in the long straights. In the out lap I was keeping a fair distance from 2 cars ahead and they managed to crash both toward the end of the lap fighting for nothing (come on, it's quali... why do you fight? To be both slow?), with gave me some clean air in front of me. First lap wasn't so good, but it was the fastest on the track by far (2 secs). On the second attempt I got close to the car exited first from the pit lane and got some slipstream under the tunnel to set a good time. On the last attempt a British driver beat it by a tenth, so I was P2 for the race start.

Considering the rules (RM and 1 pit stop mandatory) I decided to start with RM and see what would happen. Me and the pole sitter were able to get a good margin from the pack behind, despite him driving not so precisely. I decided to stay behind and don't force an early overtake, to not compromise my and his race, waiting for an opportunity while keeping him under pressure faking a couple of attempts. On lap 4 he exited quite slow from the corner before the long straight so I was able to take first place at the following turn. I must say that he was very fair and clean, not trying anything stupid. I built a good margin in the following laps (3/4 seconds), so I decided to wait for the following cars to pit before pitting myself, to not be involved in unnecessary traffic. He pitted at the end of lap 7 and the car behind at the end of lap 8, so I pitted at the end of lap 9, as fuel was enough even racing with fuel map 1 all the time. The tyres (RM) felt still good, so I didn't change to save some time and got a splash of fuel just to go to the end. Back on track still leading, with about 2 seconds on the car behind. I was surprised because my margin was way larger before and more surprisingly he was closing the gap very quickly. I gave him the position at the end of the long straight under the tunnel with no resistance, as he was faster, I didn't want to mess up my and his race and the pack behind was not so far (6/7 seconds). So I followed him on the last lap, with the gap between us increasing. I was happy with my 2nd place, but as soon as I crossed the finish line my position was 1st and he had a 1 minute penalty (which made him 10th at the end).

I thought he didn't pit, so I saved the replay to see what happened. Well, he went to pit but as he started with RH and didn't change tyres he got the penalty for not having used the mandatory RM (and that's why he was so fast at the end with RH practically not degraded).

So I got the second win in 2 races in my first GT2 seasons. Honestly, it went way better than I expected.

72 points today, 8 less than the victory in Spa.

The following below was what I had in that season of the Manufacturers Cup. It included one win, a tenth place finish, and a fourth place finish. I had topped the local rankings this season representing Dodge. I had reprised that marque in the previous season and topped the local rankings there as well.

Slightly off topic but relevant.
Still fairly new to the GT online world. But last night in qualifying I saw people weaving down the back straight trying to warm the tyres. Does this actually work or is it pointless? As they is no tyre temp info how do you know if the tyres are cold or at temperature? I know you can overheat tyres I’m the game but I only see this if you spin out across the track.

Also last night I was doing some quali laps for the Nations Cup at Dragon Tail. The free rentals for the Gr3 cars was great. Tried out the meta cars and the cars I want to drive. Now I don’t know if this is a classic trait with newer drivers but the meta cars I couldn’t get to work for me at all.
RCZ was way to skittish and easy to lose control
WRX had amazing downforce in the corners but just couldn’t get my time near the Jag
Beetle felt quick but just couldn’t find the lap time
Jag Ftype is looking like my car of choice. Was quick and stable. Set a 1.38.6 with this car. Still have others cars to test but Jag looking like the one.

Anyone got any idea what the differences in data/dr/Sr are between in game and the gt website? I'm SR - S in game, completed the final race last night with a clean race bonus and in my results it states my SR is A+, also I'm 1st locally but there's no information on how many other drivers are in my local area... perhaps early gt7 bugs?

Since i drive volkswagon for past 2 manufacturers series, ill be testing my beetle on it, i did not know it was a "meta" car for the upcoming nations race, it actually puts a lil smile on my face, but if you try it again, be careful as its handling is lil different than other FR cars because of its small size

To answer your question on the tyres and warming them up. As far as I'm aware, that only comes into play when the tyre wear is turned on. I believe that for the qualifying sessions fuel burn and tyre wear is switched off meaning that warming up your tyres is pointless.

Also given the length of Trial Mountain and the handful of heavy braking places, your tyres would be warm without the weaving by the time you started your first flying lap.

As for the Meta cars, I don't think the Gr.3 Subaru has ever been a Meta car (at least compared with the Vision GT Mazda), although I do believe that they've improved it from GT Sport as in Sport it was a very twitchy car in the corners, whereas now you can really hustle the car around the track without too many worries about it swapping ends on you.

So I have been participating in the Test Seasons for the World Series and I feel like I have improved considerably from my experiences in GT Sport but I thought I would share the sees to see what you all think!

First two manufacturer seasons I was with Toyota but really struggled to sync with the Supra so I've 'defected' back to Nissan and the ever reliable GT-R's from Season 3 and onwards.

In case your wondering why Manu Season 1 Test has no results for Rounds 3 and 4 it's not because I skipped the races, I got the disconnect error from both of those so counts as not participating/nil points.

Also I take it you don't get an imrpvoement in yourr DR/SR from these races as I have only incurred 2 penalties throughout but seems i can't go up to DR C without doing normal 'Daily Races'.

Slot 1 Started near the back with @GTWolverine only a car back. While my pace wasn't close to the WRXs, I was doing ok through 5 laps in. Decided undercut the field on lap 5 to put on fresh RMs On the pit entrance I just barely touched the piece of solid white entrance line. 3 second penalty. Then I hit the wall into the long tunnel and lost more time. Undercut turned disaster, finished pLast.

Slot 2 Actually qualified a bit worse in this one, I couldnt find a slip that the Lambo could stay in 😭. So, I started p15 of 16. At the start of the race I got 2 free positions courtesy of @GTWolverine as he got a little out of sync in T1. After that, it was just putting in laps and staying clean. I pitted lap 11, no tires, and had to try and hold off two Subies at the end. P10, 193 points. Moved up 5 spots so I'll call that a success.

Ok season considering, finished 1st in Lambo in NA among 7 other poor poor souls. 😂

Are the results shown by manufacturer, meaning I was 2nd for porsche, or does it take into account all manufacturers?

And why does my SR show as A+ when I’m S?

Hello everyone, it's been a long time since I did an FIA race report in GTS. I'm now back for GT7!

Anyhow, I did yesterday's Manufacturer race with Subaru, because both WRXs are OP rn, sucks I would've liked to sign with Toyota but there's hardly anyone in my region competing for them :( . I start in 3rd setting a good qualifying time while the two guys ahead of me decide to battle until one of them make a mistake and the blue WRX starts to pull away half way through the race. I now take second and when I pitted on lap 6 the blue WRX now in first, decides to stay away from the pits for another lap. Soon as he pits, he receives a penalty for slightly cutting the solid pit line on entry. Oof! I would've hated to be him. As he came out of the pits he decided to fight, but I'm thinking there's no point of him fighting me when he's got a 3 SEC PENALTY.

So he then serves his penalty and I take the lead to a nice comfortable win! In fact, it actually wasn't comfortable towards the end cos he seemed to be gaining a bit and I thought there was something wrong with my pace, I was getting a bit nervous. But it turned out he wasn't short shifting and instead shifts to the limiter until he realises he had to slow it down cos he was quickly running out of fuel.

1st place victory at Trial Mountain and I score 275 points. I also did the wet race at Spa before that, and finished 4th scoring 234 pts. I didn't do round 1 cos the PP/tuned races don't really work for me. Therefore, I score 514 pts in total, finishing 29th in Asia for Subaru.

Can anyone tell me how to view manufacturers cup results teat season 3 in Asia-Oceans region?
I did all three races from test season 3 and can't find the overall result anywhere. A guy on YouTube gave links for us and EMEA but not oceana.

Go to the gran turismo site and under gt7 click on sport mode. Then click on manufacturers.

If you go into Sport mode on your console, click on the event archives next to the daily races. It’ll load and then show the championships you’ve entered, just click on the respective one you want to see

You guys could go FM1 the whole race and not need fuel? The 650S needed 4 extra laps of fuel in FM1. Refueling was so slow I was sitting in the pits playing a game of online chess while I waited for my team to top me off.

I had seen/heard that no refuel was needed so I was also burning fuel prerace and started at 97%. Felt like an idiot. 2nd race I swapped to FM3 and had no pace. The oversteer glitch on the MR cars made me slow in the straights too. Picking McLaren was a dumb idea.

But hey, I finished 2nd in my region for McLaren in the GT2 catagory!

I was highly motivated to be ahead of anyone for that combo. Only took 4 attempts in the Slow-rrari.

The life of a non-meta. :grumpy:

They're counting towards DR/SR as far as I can tell. My online races in GT Sport and GT7 are almost exclusively in the championships. It's very rare for me to do dailies. I'd narrowly moved up into A+ shortly after GT7 launched when I took part in the first set of daily races, but I'm now back down in A after having a few bad results in a row over these test seasons.

Were you revving the McLaren all the way up to the limiter before shifting up? If yes, that will be why you needed to refuel so much.

It'll vary a little from car to car, but I was able to go the whole race in FM1 with the Aston Martin. I didn't have the fuel HUD up when I crossed the line, but my refuel warning as I was passing the pit entrance for the final time was still reading 0.8 laps left. I had been doing mild short shifting throughout the race (typically shifting up around 2/3-3/4 through the RPM bar throughout) to save a significant amount of fuel with only a very minor hit to my speed.

If you're playing manual transmission, I'd recommend practicing short shifting as it can be extremely helpful in some races. Some cars can even be slightly faster shifting up earlier if their power/torque bands fall off a cliff as they approach max RPM. If you're playing automatic, it might be worth considering giving manual a go as there can be some major benefits from managing it yourself.

Sorry @Roggers i didnt mean to sound rude in my response, i didnt knw beetle was meta, i hardly ever see more than me and 1 other person in it during races, i usually only see the wrx or others in races as meta, i mean i would love to see manufacturers race with beetle as the car to beat sometime this season because that Scirocco is very bad so far in Gr4 races, last nights race was tough for us Volkswagon drivers to say the least

Ah no don’t worry you wasnt rude at all. I just assumed the beetle was a meta. 👍🏻

dang you Scirocco, you killing us in Volkswagen drivers, if they only had 2 Gr3 races instead of Gr4, we could hang or better yet, increase the bop hp on it to be more competitive against them meta cars... Sigh, the pain, the pain but im going to stay with volkswagon for now i think or maybe go to Nissan, McLaren, or Renault

Congrats! My experience has been similar that I can finally get decent results in GT7 after being the last 5 consistently in Sport, albeit only in DR. D. Actually, you CAN get your DR/SR impacted by these seasons as I was pleasantly surprised when I went to check my results right now and saw my DR as C. It was still D yesterday night when I entered the final race for this season lol. I am quite happy for finally making it to C, thanks @Mistah_MCA for your lap guides, they definitely helped me get better laps
