"Archives" forum?

Perhaps there could be an "archives" forum containing old threads and test threads from 2001. For example, pages 149-152 of the Site Support forum. No one can post in this forum, it is only for viewing. I think it could prove useful to prevent people from bumping ancient threads, and could cater to some visitors who are interested in the history and early days of this website.

There's nothing wrong with bumping old threads so long as the addition is timely, relevant, and adds to the discussion.

Yes, this is very much in contrast to some other forums where starting a new thread is considered preferable to adding to an old thread.

Note the "relevant" and "adds to discussion" parts are key here; a non sequitur or "I (dis)agree" shouldn't be posted. But then again, posts like that are discouraged even in new threads.
