Are People Still Modding Cars?

I have not seen any in any rooms for a while. And the hack/hybrid threads are still popular.

So are people still hacking cars?

I am still modding, paint wise. Painting previously unpaintable cars. (See the link in my sig) Never really got into performance modding, so I really can't speak on that part.

People are still using the hidden parts upgrades such as Stage 4 & 5 weight reduction and turbos. Paint hacks are still going on too. Basically a one-fingered salute to PD's half baked patch.

Most people who are into hybriding have either stayed at patch 2.11, or have reverted back to 2.11. You have a tough choice to make here, either stick with 2.11 and give up online multiplayer, or upgrade to 2.12 and kiss extensive hybriding goodbye.
I'm in the same boat as CargoRat, I usually just paint unpaintable cars, and I'm still making new discoveries on what cars can be painted and which ones can't.

I and others seen a guy using a hacked nascar the last two nights, I saved a few races and he was able to run in the 38's by himself and his rpm was about 1k low. So there is more than hidden parts still being used.

This^ tho the hp and engine "multipliers" people were using the normal way are dead, turbo swaps and turbo multipliers are still well alive.. I've done cars with the just turbo swaps (turbo on the Ferrari 512BB) boosting it to 1026hp.. Then I have the Citroen concept with 100 turbos on it pushing 800,000hp.. So yes "stupid" HP cars are still well alive!

Yes, but unfortunately realistic tunes are gone and >10k HP/ft-lb cars are still able to be made. PD just ruined their game a bit.

I'm still making them on 2.11. I don't build stupidly overpowered cars, just realistic engine swaps and adding turbos etc.
As the other guys have said though, you can still change paint and add the hidden parts and, unfortunately, the super high powered cars that PD were probably trying to get rid of are still alive...

I know 38's and lower can be done when the room has high boost and the player is like 4th or 5th place on back. If you're watching a race the speedometer will also show higher than normal numbers. Is it possible that boost was on in the room?

I would also like more input if folks are seeing hacked NASCAR cars online?

I havent played GT5 since the update, i never modded cars to be stupid fast or race proper races. I modded cars to look nice and drift usually undriftable cars or even drift cars that drifted slow. It was such a kick in the nuts that i dont want to play it. Even GT6 looks like a updated GT5 they should of made it a cheap DLC because theres no way its a new game..... all in all its been a very disappointing experiance.

Thanks. I had to ask because some dude popped in our room and started accusing me of running a hacked car. I was in the back of the pack after being wrecked in a high boost room so naturally I would going faster than normal. I race in dirty rooms but I would never cheat the friends I've spent 2 years racing with. I might be a dirty racer but I'm not a dirty cheat.

At that point it's not a hybrid, just a hack. Hybrids were the cars made with swaps, hacks are made with multipliers.

As far as I'm concerned, engine/chassis swaps are the only things that were trully killed off by 2.12... but people can still do hypercars with 10000+ hp...

By mod, they mean hacking. Mod can be a confusing term at times...From what I understand, you just upgraded them

You people complain about what PD took out but you never consider why.

PD never had a reason to care if you gave your car 1,000,000 HP.

They only took out actual 'hybriding' where you make swaps.

Considering that, I'd say it was most likely to keep them from being in any sort of legal trouble, despite everything just being digital and not actual manufacturer parts.

It's also most likely the reason Forza only allows swaps from the same manufacturer.

If PD were able to stop the true 'hybriding,' I'm pretty confident they would've been able to stop the true 'hacking'.

They only took out what they had to to try and keep as many people happy as possible.

But you people ignore thinking about any of those possibilities and instead to say hateful things about how they ruined their game and how they know nothing.

We get it, we've been hearing it for months now. Can we please let this hybriding debate go?

By that logic, Lotus shouldn't help Hennessey make the Venom, Toyota shouldn't make engines for Lotus and Subaru wouldn't engineer an entire car for Toyota. It simply doesn't work that way. There is no legal trouble from giving a virtual car a different set of parameters.
