Are these road or race cars ? help me i can't tell

Motor Sport Elise '99

Elise Sport 190 '98

thanks!

Elise Sport 190 is easily a road car.

The Motor Sport Elise is an odd one. In the GTs it has been in previously it has always been considered a road car. However, in this game, while it has very few parts on it stock, it comes on Racing Hards and goes against race cars/tuner cars in free races, so according to GT5 terms it should be a race car.

The Sport 190 was technically a road car, but the only reason Lotus was actually able to sell it as one was by exploiting loopholes (had to be sold in kit form to circumvent emissions and noise laws).

The Motorsport Elise is all race car, as it was designed for a one-make series Lotus ran in 2000 (or maybe 1999).

What do you think about performance of motorsport elise?
I remember it was brilliant on GT4, but now 111R could easily smoke it, under the same pp.

I still consider it a road car, in the same vein as a track-prepped Miata weekend warrior that can still be driven on the street. It's true that at the same PP the 111R will smoke the MSE, but the MSE really holds its own considering its (by comparison) power deficiency. I, however, like to slam my cars to the ground (unless the tune "prohibits" this for the sake of handling) and the MSE wins hands-down in this regard, -45 baby!

The Sport 190 was the one that was track prepped and could still be driven on the street, though. The Motorsport Elise was built from the start as a race car.

Hey look, I have a tail! Now to tuck it in as I walk away...
