Do you hoard the cars you win/buy/tune or do you sell the ones you have no interest in to buy the cars you really want more quickly?

I vary, but when I'm really saving my bucks sometimes I'll sell rare cars for the lump sum of cash, just because it's either a standard car or I don't particularly like it. Other times I go into Jay Leno mode and keep as many old models as I can, even if I only race them like one time on a 1make race (so far I've raced my old Mini Cooper like twice, because it hardly keeps up with ANYTHING and I have to do 1make races, even though I'm such a MC nut).

So do you tend to sell all the cars you win and buy ones you really want, or do you prefer to fill your garage with as many sets of tires as possible? Do you think one way or the other is more beneficial, fun, or has more strategic value?

Every car I get I say to myself Im gonna tune it, I have over 20 cars and have never driven half of them, So yeah I hoard them

I keep all the cars I win, even if I have the same one already..to me selling the car for like 10k credits isn't worth the time and effort I put in to complete the series..

I also buy tons of UCD cars..

I spend dead hours skipping days on the license tests to power refresh the used cars market. I see something worthy and I buy it. I was on the 220 cars mark last week, now I'm at 550, saving a couple of trades, all of them were bought. I drive the same 2 or 3, so I just collect the cars, and let them collect dust lol

True but what if it was a car worth $100k+ and it was otherwise kind of useless to you? For instance I forget the model but I recently sold some high HP SUV looking car (I think it was a Toyota?) which I felt I would never use and got around 100k. Although I suppose once you get up in the ranks and are doing high-level races even that doesn't really matter as much.

In higher levels you can earn 117000 cr in 3:40 min. So, for that tiny amount of cash, is better to keep the car.

I try and sell the cars I don't want but because you can't sell most of the ones you win I have 80 cars and 60 of them I don't want.

so I love $$$. after these last two series in B-SPEC (before the endurance) I'm going honda and viper crazy

sitting at 950+ cars now. almost done collecting them all. and get the 1000 trophy . after that i don't know what to do LOL:crazy:

I tend to be a hoarder myself. Having more cars at my disposal, without having to hunt them down again, is worth more than a few credits you can find in any race. True I haven't used every car I have got so far. But with these seasonal events, and the few online races using the less mainstream cars, its nice to have them available.

In racing titles if the option to collect is there.., I turn into a pack rat. I've had the game only a week and racked up a good number of vehicles. I've got countless standard models that I won in A Spec.., and the only one I bothered to drive thus far was the Lupo.., and that was because there aren't any Premium Lupos to use for the race requiring this model. All my standards are collecting dust...

It's kinda useless to sell cars for credits in GT5 anyway. Max you can get is ~100k or something like that, 4 mins on oval and you'll get the same money. And all good/rare cars cannot be sold for $ anyway.
So yeah, unless you really don't wanna scroll through hunderds of useless cars in your garage (thanks PD for making 100 cars limit for favorites' list and not making an option to create a custom lists), you better keep your cars.

Unfortunately due to the non-sell nature of gt5, I now have to keep most of my cars. I really dont want to waste them and just get rid of them.

Hoarder

I like to call myself a collector.

Since day 1 (Gran Turismo on PS) I could count the number of cars I have sold on one hand. To me that's what GT is, one day driving around a 1000hp monster, the next driving around something you've never heard of with about 80hp.

Besides the Cr's you get back when sell a car makes it pretty much pointless when you can just do a race or two to achieve the same result. After a while Cr's is never a problem in the GT world.

Really it just depends on how quick you want to finish the game.

Me, I'm in for the long haul...

1000 cars trophy.. currently at 200 and growing, then I'll sell/delete most of the cars I guess, to keep order in my garage lol

I've never sold a car. I only depart with a car if a have it double. Then I would make someone a gift.
When I see an interesting car, I buy it. If I don't have the money, I just move on. Something else will pop up - there are 1000+ cars. What's the rush?

I already have 90% of the cars I really want, but only under 300 altogether.

Currently at around 830 cars so def a collector have around 100 premium cars left to buy and around 90-100 UCD cars. Its a pain checking if each car is needed but mygrandturismo.net really helps save time. if your interested my garage is in my signature..

Me too, even if theres a car in the UCD that looks a bit funny looking, i'll buy it.(even if it won't win me any races)

I keep the cars I win/buy. Mostly because the resale value is so low that I don't really bother with selling them.
I'm currently at ~180 cars in my garage, of which I drive 15, maybe 20. Five of those are driven on a regular basis, though, so the rest is just sitting inmy garage.

The standards... Well, they're just sitting there, collecting dust. The premiums, however, might be taken out for a photo shoot every now and then.

At the start in GT5, I use to sell the cars I don't like in order to buy some new ones I really want.

Now though, I started to save grind for money and start building my collection back to where it was before I sold some cars away. I wont get a chance to drive all of them but just for the collection, I'm happy.

I only sell a car if I spot something in the UCD that I really want but I don't have the money for it and it will disappear before I can do enough races to earn the money I need. Even if I don't really have any interest in a car, I still think that I should keep it around because maybe someday I'll be in the mood to drive it.

I'm collecting cars, but mostly race cars and some classic cars (the older vettes on the current OCD, for example), or anything that simply catches my eye. Any cars outside of that I really don't care to have in my garage - even if I can't sell a car I don't like I'll just delete it.

I don't see myself having a garage with much more than about 200 cars or so. Currently at about ~160, so getting there slowly :)
