Hey guys, I seem to have a problem with driving new cars. When I acquire a brand new car with 0/0/0 I do not touch it AT ALL. This is really infuriating because there are cars I'm dying to drive like the F40. Is there a way to turn off the auto-save feature? Also if I drive the car so much as 0.1 mile and don't hit anything I am asked to pay huge amounts for the Chassis stability thing, shouldn't that pop up after long racing use like the engine rebuild?

You could back-up your save data, race the car then delete and re-up your saved back-up. When it comes to premium cars though, why not just buy another?

It's just a game. Why bother playing if you are afraid to drive a car for fear of putting miles on it? The F40 is premium so keep one at zero miles and buy another to drive...

This is the best work-around to not changing the 0/0 status. And I think it'll be a problem to DLC cars, since you can't sell nor remove them.

The Chassis Rebuild should only be done when the car performs abnormally than usual. But it's a bit tough to actually identify the symptoms.

This. I'd understand it for standards, and I don't drive any standards I only have one in 0/0/0 condition, but premiums?

You realize this is a game...right? You don't HAVE to do any chassis stiffening or upgrades if you don't want to either. If you absolutely can't drive them when they're 0/0/0 just buy two and keep on of 'em mothballed

You are never asked to pay anything for a chassis refresh. If you ask how much a chassis refresh costs, they tell you. If you want to waste the money on restoring a chassis that is 0.000000000000000000001% worn, that's not the shops fault. At least they are nice enough to not take your money if it is actually has no wear at all.

Sometimes I think twice about driving a virgin car, but by the second or third time I just get in it. If you cruise in your lounge it won't get miles, but I think it will still get a switch.

No, I need to break in those engines, because I can't afford to not have those few extra horses in there!

;)

RE: Chassis rebuild. Get it when buying a used car w/ miles when you first buy the car. Or don't.
Then get it when the car starts "feeling" wrong compared to the way it used to, or just starts acting oddly. That should take awhile unless you're really abusing it in dirty races. ;)

No, GT5 is a game where the whole point is to drive the cars you own, that zero miles things doesn't make sense to me, to each their own, but at the end of the day, nobody really "cares" if you have a 0 miles car, and besides, you might be passing up a great car by just letting it sit there and collect virtual dust.

I don't really see why you would buy a car and just leave it in the garage and let it collect dust. I'm starting GT5 again in 2 days, and I'm not making the mistake of trying to collect every car I see (over 1,000 different cars collected, but rather, driving/tuning/mastering every car that I buy selectively.

Collecting cars is pointless if you don't drive them as it's just a number on the screen. And when the collection gets too big, you miss a few gems. And for the 0/0/0, if you don't plan on driving them or trading them in the 1st place, who cares about the mileage.

To each their own.

Lol, fear of driving his digital cars. That's pretty funny to me.
No need to put such value on trivial things. It's just a game.

I really don't get the 0/0/0 thing.
If you don't want to drive it, why buy it??

You can look at it in the dealership.

Agreed, this is a game not stamp collecting! The cars are not real! I understand people wanting to collect all the cars even if they are not going to drive most of them but to restrict yourself from using a car you like is just plain geeky madness, its a driving game! If all you want to do is look at the cars use the internet and a thing called Google.

Just drive them they are not worth anything in real terms. I would never purposfully not use a car because I was scared to put miles on it!

Don't drive them... how could you. All my friends come over and go through my 0/0/0 cars are in absolute awe of me.

I'll hate to leave my cars lonely with dust. What I do is set them free by selling the slow ones and keeping the fast ones, because I've already finished collecting all 1,000 cars and brought it down to 500. :) I also buy another car to have "one stock car, and one tune car". Hope this helped. :D Btw, I LOVE the Ferrari F40!!!

The Chassis Rebuild should only be done when the car performs abnormally than usual. But it's a bit tough to actually identify the symptoms.

With my Audi R8 race car it was not tough at all to identify the chassis symptoms, I mean when the tail suddenly snapped completely 180 on me when braking from 210 mph without provocation (like erroneous swerves) and then the car proceeded to "back" into (the R8 was going full tilt but facing the completely wrong direction) the pescarolo i was trying to pass, slamming both cars into the tire barrier at mulsanne corner, it became pretty immediately clear that something was seriously wrong with the car :dunce: haha, a chassis fix afterward sorted that one out. But in all seriousness youll be able to feel the car get a bit looser, it wont corner as sharp, and youll just feel this unusual sensation coming from it, i think my R10 needs it.

If I paid £20 000 000 for a Ferrari 330 P4 in the real world I'd damn well drive it.

Paying 20 000 000 meaningless credits, that I can earn in a day driving all of the big money Challenges and enjoying myself, means I will drive the wheels off it any time I like. If I goose it, it can be fixed, and if it goes off forever, I'll buy another, after having a great day screaming around whatever Challenge is best value for money at the time.

I drive the crap out of every car I have, no holding back! It's a game, it's supposed to be fun!

That's right, it's a game, and it's supposed to be fun. Oddly enough, though, what's fun seems to be different for different people. For some, I guess, it would be fun whacking a rare unused stamp on an envelope to send off, after all, it's a stamp, it was meant to be used for sending mail. Others, on the other hand, would find absolutely nothing fun about it. In general, I do agree though, it's a game, and it's supposed to be fun. :)
