I have to write an Argument Paper for my college english class. I need an Idea!!! ANYTHING! (The less research the better!).

It is a paper that you have to take a side on an argument. I.E. The introduction of the endangered wolves. Do you think they should have been brought back, or do you think it is BS? I need an argument to talk about.

Are you in a liberal college? Than say something anti-Bush or discuss some art thingie, you'll pass, trust me. Make anti-Iraqi war commentary that screams with colorful rhymes. Don't worry about making sense or being consistent, just add big words and use exclamation points constantly. You must also yell Free, Free Palestine at least 45 times, used to be 50 but that's been eased.

If it's a conservative college, praise tax cuts, gun ownership, and curse the "liberal establishment."

Hope this helps.

There's plenty to debate over in the world of politics.

How about the ethical reasons for and against war and or diplomacy? You could use historical examples, are speculate, and what not.

My own comments if you want something to consider.

From the recent brit thread

"What concern me about diplomacy is that I believe it can entail many things. The generally defined as peaceful method of resolving an issue is not precluded from having indirect means of supporting violence. To some, trading arms for hostages might be defined as diplomatic, as no military attacks happen. Also, the strength of diplomacy is largely dependent on the strength of the negotiator. If that will fades, people are forgotten, or evil rises again. People rightly claim a very plausible consequence of military action, chaos (civil wars, etc.), but ideally this action, when managed right, can give a short turn around, diplomacy, of course the better choice when possible, can have delays, renegotiations (which can last decades), and a will that may wither with time. For some people involved, it means prolonged oppression; for despots, it means the possible chance at another attempt to gain the power they seek. Inadequate attention and mishandling allow for this possibility. While I freely admit to diplomacy being the superior method, I am unable to be a gleeful supporter, because I doubt the integrity of some of its advocates."

DO you think a paper about 9/11 would be okay? Argue that something good actually came out of it? Pointed out our weakness, seemed to unite us more, etc.? Or how 'bout argue that Nintendo isn't kiddy!?

If you want to write about videogames, write how the videogame market has grown so much in the past years. Or write about how videogames are wrongfully accused of being murder tools and promoting violence.

What about street racing?(what do you mean?)(How can that be an argument?)

Arguement against it. Easy. Just dig up all the statistics on how many people have died doing it and bingo, your paper has writen it's self.

I decided I can't wait for suggestions (and I don't want to have to do research). SO I have started writing how 9/11 had some good effects too. Here is my introduction (so far): (Just my rough draft):

Walking down the crowded sidewalk on that cold morning, I look above and admire the puffy white clouds. With my cold red ear, I hear cars honking their horns near and afar. My right ear picks out a familiar sound, but it’s louder than normal.

Cant be bothered to do research. Nice! Way to really get into your project. I see that all our help to you was for not. Why did you even bother asking then. Mr. Procrastinator.

Street Racing

And what the hell is this?

"Walking down the crowded sidewalk on that cold morning, I look above and admire the puffy white clouds. With my cold red ear, I hear cars honking their horns near and afar. My right ear picks out a familiar sound, but it’s louder than normal."

Are you writing an argument paper or a romance novel?

Well, I don't have the time for research, and arguing that street racing is wrong is pointless, because everyone (including the racers) know it's wrong. If you can tell me how it would be possible to argue street racing, then I would love to write about it, but I don't see how I can write about it?!

Tell me what you think so far. THanks:

Walking down the crowded sidewalk on that cold morning, I look above and admire the white cumulous clouds. With my cold left ear, I hear cars honking their horns near and afar. My right ear picks out a familiar sound, but it’s louder than normal. It sounds like a Boeing 757. I think, “It’s louder, so it must be lower.” I look to my right and before my eyes is a massive jumbo jet, headed straight towards a building. An enormously massive crash sounds. A huge fireball and high pitched screams follow. All of a sudden it’s déjà vu all over again. After the second plane crashes, I wonder why something like this would happen, and who would do such a thing.
On September 11th 2001, our nation’s freedom was attacked by terrorism. Obviously the nation was impacted dramatically. Too many lives where lost during this tragic event. Buildings where destroyed, family members where lost, huge sums of money burned. But, is it possible that something good came out of this? Of course!
